Lmaooo, I can't say I am surprised by your reaction to When the Moon Hatched. And hearing you talk about it, I am seriously doubting why I even enjoyed it in the first place. Right book, right (braindead) time, I suppose hahah. Also yes, that 'twist' was so glaringly obvious and I have been cackling over all the girlies on bookstagram/booktok losing their minds over the 'BIG REVEAL' and the 'masterful foreshadowing'... sure, honey, sure 🤣🤣🤣 Anywayyy, YAY for House of Always. That is one of the most captivating books without any significant plot progression I have ever read, I just eat up the mess of those characters hahah. Good luck with completing the rest of the readathon, you are doing so well!!
Haha, yeah, sometimes the reading stars just align, and sometimes they do not. :D I am intrigued to see how you feel about a reread or the next book in the series when it comes out.
AHAHA its SO funny to me when fantasy books just like change words for like no reason, I was also a little confused when I first read that like its so pointless that it becomes hilarious. I really need to get into Tolkien's other works but I'm so intimidated by the Silmarillion. I'm not at all surprised you didn't enjoy When the Moon Hatched I was hoping you would enjoy it but I was like 70% sure you weren't going to (don't hate me for not saying you shouldn't read it). I still really enjoyed it I maintain my 4.5 star rating😬 LOL my rec creds are going down into the trash, I think for me I don't really care about the reveals being shocking I just like them to be dramatic (and this book is overly dramatic in the same way trashy tv shows are which I enjoy). I am almost never surprised by reveals even in thrillers and I agree it was VERY obvious I don't really think it was meant to be a secret and if people were shocked I kinda feel like they prob don't read very many books (which is fine but please its not a shock at all) I also hated the use of male/female like .... why it was so stupid but I kind of just accept that as a trend within the fantasy romance sub genre that I hate with a fiery passion but I can't really do anything about it. I can't wait to hear your full thoughts about The Dead Cat Tail Assassins. SPOILERS: just adding this down here to not spoil but I will say the only thing that "shocked" me in when the moon hatched was just that the princess got kidnapped I didn't see that coming mainly because she is only on like 4 pages in the book.
Haha, yeah, agree with your spoiler, but also so unnecessary. Like yeah, give us plot for book 2 I guess. I highly recommend the Silmarillion. I think people make it sound scarier than it is. I don't even remember how old I was when I read it for the first time, but immediately fell in love. I've also reread it multiple times. And I don't judge anyone for liking books I dislike, sometimes I am just really confused. :D But you never know whether a book will do something bad you can live with, or something that will just drive you up the wall. And I also agree that I don't need shocking reveals in a fantasy book at all, it's just that for me this book pretended to do a shocking reveal that was not shocking at all. xD
The paw at the camera! So cute.
@@thefaeriewilds right? xD
