Many his works are great for example piano quinted 3 movement has nice melancholic but joyful melody...like spring. Actually all movements of piano quintet are interesting. Orchestral music is great but also his chamber music is very interesting.
I can't hear this song without thinking about my grandmother. She used to play the cello. After she passed my dad and I sang "Going Home" at her funeral service. Thank you, Mr. Ma for your tender music.
I had some bad days couple of years ago. On one of those dark days, I bought a CD of Yo-yo Ma. The owner of the CD store said, "It sounds nice." When I listened to it, my tears came back. It had been a long time that I could not cry. I laughed when I felt sad. I went back to Yo-yo Ma's music when autumn chills started swirling around for many years. And now I am learning playing cello with my daughter. It is not easy. But thanks for your music. I really love them. Thank you.❤
I work for a newspaper, and I read about what Yo-Yo Ma was doing and it’s so special and meaningful to me. I remember learning about him as a child in an episode of Arthur. Thank you for doing this for the world ❤️
I feel as if I needed this I honestly was in a period where I was about to give up on music because I feel like I’m not going to get in a music program when I graduate high school because I struggle with advanced pieces and I think everyone is better than me, this helped me stay motivated to work harder to get a beautiful sound no matter what piece
And don’t just do it to get into a good school...I think part of Ma’s greatness is that he does it to help people, and for himself. Keep playing and bring light into the world :). Even Yo-Yo Ma must have felt frustrated on his journey to mastery. You can do it!!

@Yo- Yo Ma well, it is a slow road. In Australia we are expecting Vaccine roll outs next week. Like most people, we are missing out on public concerts. How are you coping with being sequestered in NY? Have you taken up, art, pottery, creative writing to fill the days
Once, a few years ago I asked a favor of this wonderful man to help a friend who lost his son in service to his country. He came through and wrote a message of hope and love. I still can’t thank him enough.
I came across this video shortly after it was posted and have come back to it often during this difficult year, when it has been too much, and words are not enough... I come back and listen.
