@@randallstandridge I like these video diaries, it helps me better understand what a great composer’s process is to making good music. You should do them more!
This sounds like something i would have played in maybe 7th or 8th grade, i would have loved to have played it back then had it been released at the time! would still love to play it, but sadly might not fit the difficulty level of our band expectations and would likely not fit what my directors want us to play in terms of difficulty:(
@randallstandridge I figured. The tenor sax player would have been freaking out if they saw that. The peice sounds great. Thanks for writing afterburn we play it for mpa and got all superior ratings.
this is so cool! i personally think there mayyyy be just a little too much going on in the big sections, its chaotic in a good way, but i love it still, great job standridge!
That's what the scoring and editing process is for, but my first job is to get ALL of my ideas out. Too many people are used to only seeing the finished product. This is the UNfinished product.
@@randallstandridge I would say that I have seen and heard unfinished products, but from my personal production approach, I make the song sound finished as I write it
@@randallstandridge nah, I enjoy seeing other styles of composition and production, this is a very interesting piece, and I do love it, I will be waiting to see how the final product sounds! 🫶🏼
I agree, this one does sound very exciting. It's crazy how much you were able to fit within a grade 1.5 piece!
Thank you! Still a lot of work to do.

Not me just realizing that the piece was finished-

I wish I could play this in my band but I’m too scared to ask my director-
Is there a mistake in the tenor sax part at measure 45. That looks really high.
There was. It's already been fixed in the orchestration session.

Just not the way I work. Sorry if you're disappointed, but it seems to be working well for me.@@Jamie_Music_33
