- the #moog grandmother has a spring reverb tank inside it, in the last video we found out it was connected via a phono to mini jack. so we decided to experiment! i must add! the spring reverb tank that is already in the grandmother sounds great! no need to replace, we just wanted to see what would happen at #TSR19
Im going on tour next week! info here on where www.lookmumnocomputer.com

LOOK MUM NO COMPUTER I’m coming on Tuesday! Can’t wait to see you live!
@@georgekay372 cool!!! its come along so quickly. i've just set up my live setup to start practicing for the next couple of days! ill see you then!
Seriously tho... U.S.A. Tour!
Pushing the boundaries huh? (: Well done lads, I love hehe
Oh I misread, I was expecting a 100 meters long spring
That would probably just sound like pure noise.
yes...and ?
@@Klblaz Depends on the spring! If you'll take some thicker wire, put 10 x 10m springs in a row (physically) and make it tight... I guess it will sound just different... not like some noise.
Me too.
@@KiR_3dKinda makes me wonder what a long straight wire that's under a lot of tension, like a guitar string almost, used as a "spring" reverb would sound like.
OMG! I was in a Look Mum Video, I can die happy 🤗 (FYI I almost died during this video shoot anyways ☠️ lol)
Noir Et Blanc Vie ”stunts in this video is either performed by professionals or under the supervision of professionals”
You're really just seeing how far you can push Thomann eh
YOU KNEW WHAT THIS WAS
"You have all the synths and equipment available to you in the world! What do you do?"
"Give me all the extension cables"
🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Beware of cheap Moog products labeled "Store Demo"
emdotambient hahahahahaha, beware all B-stock Thomann items for the next 6 months. Lol
Jackass Synth Edition
Simon and Sam will never be invited back.
Is it me or does this seem to add a real sense of distance?
But what about 100 KILOmeters away? Huh? HUHHHHHH????
So, it's a completely trivial matter to hook the synth to an external reverb tank.
That's surprisingly modder-friendly. I wonder what other builds will come up.
Look moøg no computer 🤣
Guys, plz, make a very long DIY spring reverb! I'm sure it's possible but not sure how )) The results may be very interesting.
that poor laundry rack!
Dude...when are you getting your own show on the science channel or something? You definitely deserve one.
is that marc doty aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Fun idea for an app: long distance random connected users fiddling with effects synth music app. You basically play notes on your phone and someone, completely out of your control or any way of communicating, gets to fiddle around with effects. Both of you get to save the result.
speaking of which: WHEN the next episode of "wheel of WD-Four-tune" ?
I wonder if the subscribers to the other channels are finding this as awesome as we are. bc this is literally the most exciting thing I've seen all week.
on a more serious note, in addition to distortion thatt much cable (that much added capacitance, assuming the cable is shielded) should act as a low pass filter.
Man, your obviously not getting invited next year...
It went from Portal 2, to Anesthesia (pulling teeth), to daft punk.
I feel the distortion in the reverb is only coming from the signal getting weaker as it has to travel a longer distance through cables
indeed!
OK, savages at work again! ))) Plz, don't kill the grandmother! :D Roli was a proper sacrifice IMO.
I guess you're just adding more resistance, inductance and some capacitance, so it works in that way... It's just a schematic... In some schems you'll get quiter sound simply.
9:00 - oh, poor little reverb unit now! :))
There should definitely be even more look mum no computer and simon the magpie collabs.
never seen such blatant disrespect for resources and technology in all my life
but worth it to hear the reverb get progressively more distorted
Crazy bastards. I love it.
Why not scream in it
No living spring tanks were harmed in the construction of this movie 😂
I was hoping to see the “swapping Moog grandmothers internal spring tank with one 100 meters long”.
I don't think there is any better visualisation of electro-punk , than this.
Sounds like kids smacking aluminum trash cans with sticks.
Once again, pointless destruction. This is so dumb.
It’s the X-men of synths! Yes, yes, & yes! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️❤️
haha. ASSEMBLE
... Every time I watch you it feels more and more like looking at my dad, and it's starting to weird me out a little.
Seriously, how improbable is it finding such a random resemblance? >__
This is gold! This is why i pay for internet. XD
why everyone look high in this video
Great question, well phrased, deserves an answer ...
Could we add two cable coils or a variable cap before and after the tank to achieve a similar effect
😁 next time you need to build the biggest spring reverb ever?
Doctor mix used a slinky!!
@@annother3350 Star Wars..⚡
What is the model number of the original tank? Please someone help, I’ve been looking all over trying to find the model number
Belton miniature reverb can BMN 3AB3B1B
In german, you would call this "hobbylos"
When people have too much money and time...
Next time a Splitter and a WALL of Spring Reverbs?????
spring distortion sounds pretty sick actually
just curious but in what city is that?
This is the voice of the apocalypse
But.. why did you leave the house? I mean you could have just connect 100 meters of cable in the room right? I know its less funnier, i just don't get it.
Or am i stupid?
why not?
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER fair enough ! :-D
You're like Jack the Ripper to all my dream equipment.... it hurts me to watch you destroy something I can wish for a million years and never have, but I'm still compelled to continue watching! Cheers!
what got destroyed was a 20 quid spring reverb? but yeah fair enough. no more destruction i promiseeeeeeeeee
I promise he Ill do my best to not let you keep that promise 😎
@@SimonTheMagpie haha its on simon!!! its oonnnn
Its the lightning strikes machine!
This is so random and stupid
Holy ganja batman thees Electric Bards are stoned as hell!
ha i think it was exhaustion. this was shot in the last few hours of the weekend we spent there. i tried fitting in a fair few videos. drugs are bad mmmmkay
why shake it so much, that sucked. would much rather hear what effect the ambient environment has on the reverb sound. cool mission tho!
wow, that is a nice distortion on the furthest point.
.
tbh they couldnt hear what was happening, you can listen to it all together, so probably if it was done again (which it probably wont) then there would be less shaking
Go wireless!
So I’m curious if you matched the specs of the tank you used or how much difference that will make.
With guitar amps, most important specs seem to be input/output impedance and grounded or insulated jacks but does any of this matter with the grandmother? Thanks!!
looks like you have almost freehand at thomann.. what about hooking some weird stuff, like idk.. an aerophone? into the h9000 with some mental fx chains?
Harmonized farts.
Imagine.
Belive.
Hahahaha 😁
no smash reverb :(
You should have connected the spring reverb via Bluetooth for that true wireless liberating experience. LOL
Must be a millennial thing, smashing things up for no reason...
but it still works?
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER Well, does it? But that's besides the point...
"Ooh, what are they doing out there?" 10:04
Random Henning.
SCIENCE!
This makes me want to wrap 100 meters of wire in a spool under my spring reverb in my eurorack. I love the effect.
There's a lot of 'Yeah, shake that f'ker!?'..... Which is nice!
This would've be a good test if you could've seen each other and the distance with binoculars too!
Is there a single playlist somewhere of all the shit you guys did during this meetup?
is there still a TB 303 in the cupboard behind you ? :)
What a stupid thing to do. I like it!
Madness reigns supreme. Keep it up. Loving the vids. X
I like the way you coo-exist with others, Great stuff, and fun
That was three butt hairs shy of actually being punk.
How to do your onw spring reverb plsss. Cheers from Argentina!
So the spring verb is connected via insert on the synth, so you could connect any external effects unit directly to the unit! Awesome 😎
well the spring reverb tank is connected to the spring reverbs amplification circuitry via a mini jack cable
where did you get that reverb from? was that yours?
You could make a wireless spring reverb?
As an owner of a Moog GM, I approve
No fun anymore, subscriber off. Ya no soporto verte disfrazado de punk.
It a gawd dang spring Destorter
Messing with Grandma?
The best bit was the pegs on the springs, bouncing the tank. Excellent
Killing tech for art, love it.
lol Dude you're my synth hero
Sorry, I confess I only went up to 30 metres... did you try FEEDBACK through the walkie-talkies?
Oh my god, what am i doing with my life!
Yaaaaassss!
Epic!
美国人真能玩,好厉害!
duraki ))))))))))))
Spring distortion is wicked 💯👑👑👑🔥🔥🔥🔥
Прикольно (:
smashing it!
Really makes me want to upgrade the spring tank in grandma!
I wonder what a big plate reverb would sound like 🤔
Thanks for the cool video !
First dislike vid!
moweg?moooooog
mogue
I imagine you could add a little driver to boost the signal and put in a more significant reverb spring. Actually... dude... that's a great effects loop!
There is absolutely no need to do this. The Moog 905 Spring Reverb Module has a certain characteristic unique sound that they've managed to re-create in the Grandmother. It seems to work as being part of the Moog sound. If you want to use a different reverb unit, just run the audio output dry into whatever you want.
it was more just a why not kind of thing. the spring reverb inside the moog sounds great. and i wouldnt replace it. this was just a kind of "what happens if"
Man you are losing interest! This was pointless to the core! 100 thumbs down mate! Sad!!!
