dude, Sam, you are so inspiring! I know that sounds cheesy but seriously! I really want to figure out how to do interactive shows like you're showing here! plus you've inspired me to get into building synths over the last year and I'm eternally grateful for all your help!
You could have several cables going out to a line of people, then you can hi 5 each person to play a note use a darlington pair for sensitivity and switching 'Crowd organ' 'hi5 machine' ?
Thanks for making a video on how interactive synths can be. I was so hoping your cat was going to paw at the mother Moog. Maybe catsynth shoes will happen!
I would love to see a similar setup like the copper pipes, but with plates mounted to a table instead of the pipes. That could make it much easier to play :D Great video sam!
One such textbook held that, because of the paramount importance of words in jingles, which convey the advertiser’s message, "fast rhythms," favored by youth, don’t usually work.
If Bill Nye the Science Guy were an electronic musician... :-) Your way of entertaining and getting the audience into things... I actually found it touching (no pun intended). Like, you’re very pro-social/human engagement. That’s cool and rare, I think.
Would love to be in one of these shows, you go from music, electronics, to the most bizarre entertaining things LOL. what I think could be two cents, in some situations wouldnt be an isolation transfomer (for main input) safer. I know you lose the ground reference and can cause noise. But for thing like touching thing to trigger other signals ... sometimes my confidendence on power supplies and power brick is not great ....
Barry White.... Copper pipe!! I wonder if the fellas from Kraftwerk were like 'Would you like to pull my finger?' 'Okay but why?' F-A-A-A-R-R-T as they messed about with foil contacts and drums back in the day!
I get the reverse effect. Instead of starting the synth when I plug it in and connect the wire, I cut the sound that is already playing because I am plugged in to the cv-input om my moog.
Does anyone know what the cheapest little synth-thing I can plug such a brilliant adventure into is? Would like to have kids (build and) and myself play with such a setup, but don't have anything to plug this into and would like to buy that part and then build this!
You might want to Google "40106 oscillator circuit" and "galvanic skin response". A 40106 oscillator circuit typically uses a single capacitor and resistor. Replacing this resistor with a pair of body contacts like in this video should at least get you in the ballpark. Another tip would be to check out the Logic Noise series by Elliot Williams on Hackaday. Loads of sonic mayhem and fun to be had with very simple circuits like the 40106 oscillator. Good luck!
lol never thought synths could be this interactive with the audience. Super!
indeed!! thats whats its alllll about :D
nothing better than a youtube channel where the creator is actually really passionate about the content they create

"Now you can add that to your CV" 😂
Love your cat 🙂 little cutie ☺️
Sam, you're awsome! With the FartBox you can do "pull my finger" jokes, it would be hilarious ahahah
You are so inventive and just plain fun in what you do Sam! Kudos on so much creativity and well done videos!
You're gr8 at this Sam...a natural with the audience, cool tracks and interesting and accessible (fun) projects.

Absolutely love everything about your content! 197K subs, it's the tip of the iceberg concerning where you are going!
"I did this gig the other day and what can I say, everyone got really conductive" 😎

Always a fan of the weird and wonderful things you come up with
your projects are continuously evolving and inspiring new ideas, like one artist gets perfected
Bro! I literally just picked up a basically new 1978 speak and spell for 4 dollars from a thrift shop! I can not wait to bend it.
Very nice idea! Tech is fun, great example.
Sam, you are an amazing and gifted human being.
I dig your creativity man
Beautiful collaborative Idea😍
"I will probably TOUCH on it more" .....I see what you did there hahaha 😂👍
Awesome stuff Sam...as usual
I would love to see a similar setup like the copper pipes, but with plates mounted to a table instead of the pipes. That could make it much easier to play :D
Great video sam!

*I CAN MAKE A THYRAMYN AT HOME* !!!!!!!! you just made my summer bruvvah. much love from chicago. cheers.
Brilliant😂🙌...thanks Sam!
14:00 That way of playing sound, reminds me of theremin.
Congratulations. You just invented an instrument that is even harder to play than a theremin.
This is plain brilliant! Love that stuff :)
I love the pre C19 human contact.
14:00 If not mistaken sounds like intro sound for Sting's "Many Miles Away" ( or somewhat similar, radio frequency modulation effect)
You my friend is a legend
Solar Freaking Roadways !!!!. LOL .... your humor man !!!!
Ah, this vid highlights how freely people physically interacted before covid times. Wild!
I did this with my cracklebox and some of my wifes friends' kids. They had a lot of fun with it.
I watched a whole bunch of crazy videos of yours, and then this one is like.. a professor giving a physics class or music teacher or something
amazing and inique
OMG thats so cool
Holding hands as a voltage control is too cute.
I love you man!!
You’re a regular everyday modern MacGuyver!Right On, Bat 🦇 On!!

Genial, even though I don't get anything to technical stuff.
Dude your a bossssssss much respect
I was listening to Blur earlier, and realized your voice is similar to Damon Albairns🤔
Finally, somebody else agrees!
[Gorillaz reference] (damon is also the singer for gorillaz too)
Omg yes! I never noticed but agree!
@@nightrous3026 No shit!
Edit: Not being sarcastic, I just never knew that.
Your'e awesome dude!

Use a cardiograph for a rhythm and an electromyograph or encephalograph for a melody.
You made a Theramin! Love it

Thums up!!
Was you in there with Chief and the Cat.
This reminds me of emojin heap lady’s gloves
Couldnt this be used to build a touchstrip similar to that of the monotron?
You are totally bonkers 😁
Nice to know I'm not the only one who continues to chew on the plastic sleeve after I strip a wire with my teeth. :P
It would have been funny if there was a loud fart sound and LMNC said "Wait, I haven't even touched anybody's hand yet!".
aaah!!!good one. i always missed the best jokes.
If you orchestrated the people you could make a legit song from that connection!
Can you do a seagull powered synth next?
haha i did indeed try! ruclips.net/video/8Gxq77p7pZk/видео.html

Team up with flatlander and deathgrips!
I'm sure interested parents will love to see their kids shorting 9 volt batteries with crusty copper battons :')
look mum no soldering
the chair at the begin of the video looks like a studio rack
kind of like electric boomwhackers?
I wonder how anti-static wrist straps would work?
Good if you remove the megaohm+ resistor inline with the snap connector
Cool!
Madonna’s bra lmfo.

Donnie D I’ve been doing this since I was 11, now in my 30s and my teeth are fine...
could this be done with some cv to midi converter?
what do you mean? the madonna bra project (youtube look mum no computer madonna bra project) is basically this but has midi out.
@@LOOKMUMNOCOMPUTER thanks! this is what I was hoping for :) I'll give this a try some day
is that the same moog from thomann, did you steal it ? ;-)
It is indeed the same one!
Sounds like the music from Risk of Rain ha
Risk assessments 😂😂 when did look mum no safety start those?
i just said it to sound smart
8:13 should've said "pull my finger"
Tested: wire stripping device is much cheaper than a dentist's appointment.
if you do it right your teeth dont touch the metal
HOUSE KEYS RESIDE IN THE DOOR LOCK
9:33 is a little bit... bizarre :D
Isn't 9V too much voltage for the synth when connecting the battery poles together?
MrCaliforniaD its looking for 3V but 9V is probably not enough to toast the circuit.
