- Fortnite Creative is full of strange maps, but some of the weirdest ones come courtesy of outside brands trying to turn your chill gaming time into a prolonged commercial break. So today, we’re taking a look at some of the weirdest branded maps in Fortnite Creative.

The irony in all these companies trying to sell their products on the Fortnite metaverse but literally this is the first time I'm hearing of any of these
Well, they likely paid the map developers FAR less than they would've paid a production company to make a television commercial. So to them, I'm sure even a couple hundred squishy little kid brains soaking in their marketing on Fortnite is enough to justify it.
I'm glad someone made a video on these because I find these maps to be such bizarre oddities and it feels like barely anyone even knows about them. Which is surprising considering they're officially licensed, albeit with no direct involvement from Epic as far as I know. They kind of remind me of that weird mini-trend from a few years back where brands would make islands and downloadable clothing designs in Animal Crossing New Horizons.
I stopped playing New Horizons before that was a thing I guess or I probably would've eaten that up honestly 😂
I know I’m probably the only one who remembers it but I miss the first ever branded Fortnite creative map I pretty sure it was called Weezer World and was very impressive for it being the first theme park map on Fortnite

Hey! I used to be with Zen Creative, the team behind the Mio map. While I wasn't involved in that project (they made it before I joined the team), we sometimes joked about how broken it became. Fortnite maps often break due to game updates and maintaining them is a lot of work. Teams will usually only fix maps if brands pay for their upkeep. The brands usually don't. The maps just get left to rot and break. I noticed you played a lot of maps that are a year old or more, so it was clear why they weren't working for you~ It honestly wasn't surprising 😭 If you ever try brand maps out again, I'd say go for ones that were launched in the past month or two at the time of recording! Newer ones are typically updated with bugs fixes until the hype dies down. If you have any questions about what it's like to make a branded map I'd be happy to answer the best I can!
I checked the updates for each map I played, and the majority of the maps I played were actually updated within the year. But I totally understand your point, and I'm very aware of that as a general issue. It's something I discussed in my "The REAL Problem with Fortnite Creative" video. I definitely wasn't trying to make the glitches in these maps the focus though, more the general strangeness and forced nature of them.

My question is why cars and gasoline are being advertised to kids. Adults won’t be swayed by these map or even play them. I mean what’s next the hub will make a map for fortnite? Actually that would be hilarious.

Kids absorb information like a sponge, if you advertise to them they’ll remember it subconsciously for the rest of their life, making them more likely to remember the brand that was being advertised. Think of it as an investment.
the shell map is 98% prefabs they spent like an hour on friday lunch break to make it lmao

As someone that plays a lot in the JP servers, looking at official maps created for last year's Super Sentai (King OhGer) was really cool. They've created the maps to look just like the setting for the show, the main palace and even a part of the city that appears in the show, it was basically an ad for Bandai toys of that season but man it was cool to see it in Fortnite, too bad it was temporary and you cannot access them anymore. Oh well...
Yeah there were actually a lot of interesting branded maps that I found out about that were, as you mentioned, temporary or only for private tournaments
Imagine if the Honda Prolouge was added as a Rocket Racing cosmetic. It could be a reality cause we have Nissan, Tesla, and BMW in game
Seeing how short it's battery life was in that map, not sure I'd wanna drive it around much

I tried whataburger while in texas, it really left a lot to be desired during my vacation.
It's good fast food imo, but if you went in expecting it to be the highlight of your vacation, you might wanna adjust your expectations
@@SeeDaveRun I was mainly in texas scoping work out, due to contracts drying up on the east coast somewhat for IT. I was expecting sonic tier at the very least akin to how everyone praises caynes for the chicken and sauces.
To be honest, the Whataburger I had in Austin wasn't as good as the ones I would go to in Arizona. So maybe the home state of Whataburger has lost its touch for it. And also damn you for bringing up Cane's, we also don't have those here 😭. I was grossly unaware of how many restaurants I would be losing moving to WA.

Allow or didn't notice? That's the real question. A surprising amount of stuff gets past them sometimes, but it's usually stuff on maps no one plays... unless they're intentionally looking for them to make a ridiculous video around it.

I'm not really here to just promote maps, to be honest. I'm always looking for cool maps to highlight in future videos though, so you're welcome to pass along your map code. I check out just about every map people suggest, I just can't promise they'll make it into a video.
Although, I am planning on doing an episode soon that's just focused on reviewing and giving feedback on viewer submitted maps. I'll have a post about that out soon.
