It can definitely feel like that on the surface, but in reality, it's what drives people to create bigger maps. If you look at the RUclips creative seen as it progressed from the age of no one getting paid to where we're at now, you'll see a similar trend. Yes, some people abused the algorithm by making clickbait content and pushing their vids to kids in gross ways, but there are also a large number of creators that can thrive on RUclips now because they're actually making money. Making a great map takes time and resources, so if you want creators to invest those things into a map, you need to incentivize them to do so and money is the best way to do that. You're more than welcome to pour your heart into a map just because you love doing it, but if you're balancing a full time job, family, and a personal life, chances are you're gonna have a hard time justifying doing that without getting something in return. Besides, great maps attracts more players to play the game as a whole and potentially buy stuff from the shop, which makes Epic money. So why shouldn't the creators get a share of that?
@@SeeDaveRun you've got a good point actually. Even before UEFN people were copying and pasting 1v1s and pits so it wouldn't make a difference. It's just a shame that most of the maps I see in the UI are tycoons with Fishstick in the thumbnail
I swear when it comes to actually creative suff on uefc it's like from 1 to 2 things per season I still rebember that someone made fnaf fangame in game, yeah it was just fnaf 1 copy and paste but thumb up from me for making original characters for this
I would adjust that statement. “The algorithm should only recommend good maps and not skibidi r v b.” I’m fine with allowing people to make those kinds of maps because there’s no way to block “bad maps” from being created while allowing the creative expression to make “good ones”.
@@SeeDaveRunNo maps specifically designed for young audiences, no maps that are rip offs or copies of others, no maps that reuse the specific designs of others (ex: all the pit and red vs blue maps), no ai generated thumbnails, no tycoons(debatable), no maps that advertise XP (already banned I think, but the moderation isn’t good), etc.
This isn't just a Fortnite issue. Every game that has player made content will have what's popular. When i played LittleBigPlanet, there were so many survival maps, bad horror maps, or how to make X costume. That said, i try to find unique maps to play.
You're not wrong. The difference with Fortnite is that it has the time, consistent player base, and support it needs to actually improve those things, while most other games that offer similar player created options, do not.
@SeeDaveRun You're right. Even at the height, LBP didn't have a massive player base. I hope it gets easier for people to make quality maps. Even some tycoon maps can be good if they add their own flair or mix it up.

i think the story behind how creative map makers have to navigate constant changes and an unforgiving algorithm is really not talked about enough. this is a great video!
Thank you! It's definitely one of those things that you don't really think about if you're on the outside of the scene and have never touched the program yourself.
I think maps like this are a symptom of two factors; 1 the majority of Fortnite’s playerbase is composed of small children, kids don’t really care what they play, they’ll play and consume slop without any complaints 2 epic knows that their playerbase will play what’s shown to them for the most part, so they prioritize engagement over pushing actual unique and fresh experiences
You also forgot the creators of such maps being lazy. Creative is one the best or the best in-game map/level makers in gaming because of it being so simple to use, yet the creative map creators just look at ,,Input trigger'' or some other ,,complicated" device and say ,,Nah, too hard"
Every week or two, Epic will usually highlight a couple really cool creative maps on their RUclips page as well, which is something I forgot to mention in the video. So you might consider checking that out if you haven't already!
The Lumberjack Heroes map is honestly making me more hopeful for the future of uefn. Its not perfect but its a lot better then any other map ive played.
I just found out yesterday that there's entire boss fights you can do if Lumberjack Heroes, but you have to do a lot of farming before you can get to them.
thank you for bringing that up. as a map creator, spending thousand of hours trying to be original, publish, and no one playing it because "the most engaging" section or "the most people loved" is the "bla vs bla", some blabla tycon, and another potato-tomato maps. and sadly it turns us also into them, the "let's just mod a lil as long we make the theme is what's popular now". Fortnite is still not a best place for new maps, but i hope it will get better and better.
My next video is going to be on the most unique maps and I'm specifically searching for maps that feel NOTHING like Fortnite, in a good way. I've been finding some very interesting stuff, although it's been very hard to find.
As mentioned, the RUclips algorithm is also not perfect 😂. Thanks for checking it out though! I'm chugging along on another video to go out this week hopefully
The creative tagging system is such a mess. I just wanna play some fun death runs but I can’t since half of them are just Only Up maps and the other half is Roblox Obbys.
It’s just roblox 2.0 and honestly not in a good way cause now we have 20% percent of actual cool maps and like 80% being some generic, uninspired, boring, cash grab, false advertising, that literally just follows what’s popular atm
I really wanna finish that map, but I honestly keep getting lost and then motion sick trying to figure it out 😅. I'm gonna have to finish it one of these days, because it does start off really well, I'm just bad at horror games lol.
Epic should limit the number of maps a single user can submit in a time interval, because there is so many accounts flooding the system with low effort copy pastes.
There's no limit to how many videos a person can upload on RUclips in any given interval, and yet you don't see your homepage full of random home videos and nonsense. It's more about the algorithm adapting to and learning the players and less about limiting the creators.
Without adding custom items, custom movement and custom inventories you can only make so many variations of existing maps before it gets boring. We have to wait for (confirmed) custom items
I’ve seen some insanely good combat maps even that only get like 100 players at most but no go goated or the pit gets thousands or the same copy paste red vs blue for the 10 thousand time.
Thank you so much! I've been doin this for a while and I'm having a great time channeling that experience into something new. Happy to see you're liking it!
It's not really about encouraging/discouraging, it's more about improving accessibility of the tools, creating more educational tools, and improving the algorithm. There's a place for basic fighting games, but they shouldn't make up the prominate majority of the front page when there are other options available that people would love to play it they know they existed.
they should really check the maps that are put on there its even in the policy that maps who are straight up copies of other maps get banned yet they don't really seem to inforce it
"Time and patience would be the key" yeah, if Epic don't f*cked up over and over again their game, ruin some maps with their weekly buggy updates with changes that everyone didn't ask and then dip for vacation while some creators find their lazy way out with red vs blue pit maps to make easy money...
This would be a very different video if it weren't for Mustard Plays, he's done a LOT for the Creative community and covers more on it than just about anyone
I've been working on this video for weeks 😂. Between work and preparing for a big move, this one was tough, especially with so many things to illustrate
But they're right in that I did start this a couple weeks ago, which is why I used last seasons title screen from the trailer when I said "now a year later...".
Creative is just so nasty now. It’s used to be so good a few maps for each type of content (fighting , for fun , etc ) & there would be a shit load of people doing whatever you wanted to do whether you loved the map that was on that week or not. Now the only ZW you can get is GOATED which is terrible.
as someone with an RX 580 and a crappy cpu worse than a ryzen 5 3600, you do not need a decent pc to run uefn or unreal engine btw this videos awesome i subbed
It depends on what you wanna do in UEFN honestly. If you wanna do crazy modeling, animation, and go deep into lighting/VFX like many new creators think will be easy, then yeah you need a beefy setup. But if not, you can get away with less, for sure. Also, thanks for subbing!
Man, I remember back when creative was introduced. Ever since it did, I spent most of my time looking for maps to try out. I used to hop on the creative Island to see how it looked and to find out what maps were highlighted. I miss the days where creative was still evolving back in chapter 1
one positive of fortnite creative maps is that we will never be short of infinite xp afk maps which are a literally god send for completing the battlepass and getting to level 200 because it means I don't need to play the game all day everyday I can do other stuff while it slowly and consistently goes up
the lumberjack heros map is a little grindy then what I expected but damn is it better then most maps I see which are slop, it gives me hope, and also the fun maps like the snipers vs runners dollhouse and other ones are amazing, just wish that they fixed the lag and stuff with unreal engine change, not even creative maps can optimize it
One of the hardest things for them right now I imagine as far as the lag goes, is balancing so many different platforms. They want it to be a great experience on a high end PC with max graphics and fast internet, as well as for someone who's playing it on Switch in the library.
Creative would be so much greater if it were easier to access like 300 subscribers accessible to publish maps and make the moderation for bad maps better and add more memory budget and just give it a better menu ui
This is so demoralizing, I've spent months making high quality maps only for no one to care about because they're too busy playing the same the pit or red vs blue maps
Share them with me! If they're really solid, I may very well feature them in a video. Can't guarantee it'll make them blow up, but any promotion helps, right?

To comment on the last section about the yt algorithm of some guy curating the top videos: there’s something similar on scratch called an FPC. A user applies to become the ‘Front Page Curator’, and they choose 5 projects every day for a week to be on the front page. This might be a good idea to incorporate in to Fortnite somehow. Epic’s picks is similar, but with this the users get to choose what maps are good.
Honestly I have been having a lot of fun just creating arena FFA maps with cool themes. Ngl, a part of me does want the map to pop off but at the end of the day, it's more important for me as a Creator to know that I have built and finished a map design I've had in my mind. Especially making the trailers! the trailers are a blast, getting all the footage, piecing it all together, and being able to witness the creation by my hands! The last time we talked really inspired me to recognize the craft at hand, rather than the numbers. I really appreciate you for that, man!
I'm glad I could help and I'm happy to hear you're still enjoying it! Always feel free to drop codes when you've got new maps, would love to check them out.
Great vid, this is a problem for years and made me uninstall eventually. I just want to play mini-battle royale maps or different call of duty type gamemodes.
UEFN is far more capable too than people give it credit for, many people disregard stuff as impossible but you can quite literally make whole new (Non Fortnite) games with it, I've rebuilt a Sonic The Hedgehog engine inside of UEFN and it's fully playable as if you downloaded and are playing a sonic game, just takes time, alongside the algorithm being entirely against innovation and fully for repurposed maps.
Don't do that! This video sadly garnered a lot of attention from people who viewed this as a great place to voice how much they hate Creative mode -- and that wasn't my point at all and I felt that was clear if you watch the whole video. A big part of my content is trying to show people that there's still plenty of great, unique, and genuinely fun Creative maps out, it's just gonna take some time to find them and for the system to encourage their growth more. It's a complicated topic, but I hate to see people give up on it.
@@SeeDaveRunI haven't given up just yet. Just extremely frustrated with Epic at the moment. I just feel like they withheld features for Fortnite until the next Chapter (6). Not to mention a bunch of bugs I've been dealing with in Creative AND the main game... 😤👍🏾
There are many great maps I played, I feel like the one good thing Epic are doing is the weekly “Epic’s Pick’s.” I feel like that’s the way to go, even if it can be filled with hot garbage sometimes, I’ve seen many small maps grow to thousands of daily players cause of epics picks. Great video!
Awesome video, I’m grateful that an algorithm worked for once and introduced me to great content. I’ve always maintained that UEFN is a complicated, powerful tool for making games. FNC is a fun, limited GAME for making games. Oh, and UEFN was never intended to be Creative 2.
I think it's great! It sorta rewards creativity. Those who invest a lot of time into making a creative map can earn money when others play on it. Also, if Battle Royale gets boring after a few matches you can jump to a creative map without leaving Fortnite while still using the same cosmetics. It's a win win for the player
I wish they would add some of the UEFA tools to creative mainly the large terrain, editing area, and a simple camera device that you could use to make cut scenes if they just give me those I feel like I can make whatever I wanted and be satisfied. I also wish there was a way to publish maps and not have to make money off of them as long as somebody was able to verify that the map wasn’t inappropriate or something that was gonna waste peoples time. I make a lot of battle Royale and TDM maps but I’m not able to publish them at all because I’m not able to be part of the program on my so I make a lot of maps, but I’m not able to do anything with them because I can’t publish them and my friends never wanna play
I used to play Creative Mode to Build my Creations & Relax. Now I feel like Epic only cares about the PVP Genre & doesn’t let any other Genre have their time to Shine. Creative Mode 2.0 is just all over the place.
For me, one of the biggest problems is that only those who have creator code can create maps... In addition to only those who have a PC being able to have the creative 2.0 tools (such as the terrain editor)
Getting a creator code is not hard. You apply on their website and I got approved in a day. You have to be 18, but that's a legal thing. Stop building up these artificial roadblocks in front of yourself and go build something cool! You can still do great stuff in Creative Mode.
@@SeeDaveRun I'm not talking about the creator code itself, I'm talking about the stage of being a content creator, there are so many people who are good at creative, but they can't do it because they don't have the goal of followers.
No need to apologize, I'm not givin ya crap for that, you're all good! So just to clarify though because there's some terminology mix up here - In order to publish Creative/UEFN maps, you simply apply on the website and you get a Creator Code. That code is just to track you as a map developer and allows you to earn money from your maps, it has nothing to do with followers. Now, if you want to have a Support-A-Creator code that people can enter in the item shop, then yes, you need to have a certain amount of followers on a particular platform and they need to review your content. This is because they're offering you a chance to earn money essentially based on how much you promote the game and they track this based on how often people use your Support-A-Creator code. You need a certain amount of followers, because otherwise you clearly don't have a large enough fan base to even show you're a good promoter of the game. They're two totally different things.
Something that's a big problem for me is the fact that I'm on OCE servers. I'll join a map that has 1000+ players and will get a lobby with like 3 to 4 people. Because there isn't a cap on the creative library the player base is spread very thin and even more so for people playing on these less populated servers. I feel there SHOULD be cap on the number of maps available to play and that these maps are hand picked by a team of Epic employees essentially 'quality controlling' these maps. (because we really don't need any more tycoons or red vs blues). In the creative search tab there should be a max of 5 maps per category to choose from. Epic can then cycle better and newer maps in to replace the older ones to keep things fresh. I believer this would only benefit the player because it will encourage UEFN creators to be more innovative and creative too make their maps stand out above the rest in hopes of it been selected. Not only Lobby's will be full but the prevailing maps will actually be good and well designed.
When scrolling through the gamemode menu in the lobby, all of the creative stuff looks the same. The same bullshit all over again, everywhere. And they expect me to play anything else than BR and StW?
Man this video is really really nice, there isn't a really right answer, you think about solution that aren't obviously THE best, but damn, it's really good. That's the type of quality I want to have when I write an essay.
I imagine there are more than a few of those maps that either you or the public (if they're published) are not playing anymore. So you can likely delete those for new ones. Realistically, 50 maps is plenty, no need to hoard old ideas just so they can collect dust.
My main issue with Fortnite Creative is the menu. Similar to the item shop, the Creative menu feels overwhelming-it's difficult to find Epic games or your recently played games. I really dislike how Fortnite is slowly becoming more like Roblox, with deathruns, tycoons, and other unoriginal modes. It’s honestly annoying. Personally, I prefer the practice maps, but I have to find them on RUclips and input their codes manually because I can't stand navigating the Creative homepage.
Yeah, they're definitely working to improve it and I've seen that over the last season, but I still don't understand why it shuffles order every time. That really doesn't make sense.
I am doing maps for youtuber that has 200k subs. And even tho i am working on a disaster+bossfight map the original map that is thematic aim training+small pit+ 1v1+ free builds and it is full of litle secrets but sadly it brokes all the time thanks for updates so i cant work on my next map

My main problem with creative is that Epic is trying to focus more on creative than on battle royale, My favourite thing about Fortnite is its story but with how much epic is focusing on creative mode the story is non-existent in chapter 5.
Yeah, that is a real shame and something that Donald Mustard addressed when he left. I personally was really excited for the story they were building for Chapter 3, but watching it slowly turn into nonsense was really disappointing.
i created a few reeally beautiful maps with original game survival mechanics and all.. i hope all my team's hard work pays off and people can have a chance to enjoy our games, but it seems there are going to be a few setbacks since its this UEFN stuff is still pretty new and Epic must be dealing with A LOT of new submissions everyday.. curious to see how this is all going to play out..
Can you send me codes when you have them? My next video is specifically covering unique Fornite maps that feel as far from "traditional" Fortnite as possible. Would love to check it out and potentially feature it!
I think another thing is the creative is so incredibly overwhelming now compared to when it released one thing they could do is bring back that menu when you load up the game that asks if you want to load into creative br or stw it would just help separate the things and make it less overwhelming
I think the old menu would separate things a little too much, but I would appreciate at least having the main modes stay locked at the top instead of getting buried after I play a few creative maps
I think that’d be a horrible move for Creative. Even though I personally detest seeing Creative games recommended to me in the bottom of the screen while waiting in the Battle Royale lobby, that’s precisely how Epic can seduce BR players into exploring Creative.
I think it depends on what and how you play. When I sit down for a couple hours to play creative maps for my videos, I'll usually get 3 - 5 levels without even trying. This morning I jumped on specifically to do Story and Weekly Quests and in 90min, I had gone up 10 levels. I also play a lot of new, just released creative maps where the XP isn't calibrated yet, so I'll jump on a couple days after playing those and Fornite will be like "We just finished calibrating that map you played the other day, here's 10k XP for your time".
all i want is an easier way to gain access to publishing maps, its so annoying how i have to sign papers and do the tax thing whatever whatever, i dont want to be paid, i just want to publish the maps i spent time on.
I mean it takes like 10min to do and I was approved the next day, it's really not that complicated. And I understand you don't want to get paid, but the fact is that Epic is making money off of the maps we make. They attract people to play the game which encourages them to spend money in the store. If they're making money off of us, we deserve a cut of it.
That's due to laws on that matter being different state to state and country to country. You can still have your parent make an account though and publish your map under them.
Amazing and very in depth video, I do feel like the only thing we can do as players is just wait and voice our opinions, fortnite creative is far from what it was at the beginning know it's only gonna get better, and the day that I see no red v blue flooding everything will be a great one
I'm glad you enjoyed it! And happy to hear the message came across well. We'll make the most of the journey, there's still plenty of fun to be had in the mean time.
The problem for me with creative is fortnite still support the switch, due to this the sizes on maps are simply too reastrictive to do any advanced games or games with lots of non-basic repeatable content. Like a map I enjoy valhalla its a full blown RPG but it has 5 maps (there's been 3 coming soon maps for a long time) and its maxed is resources, even with basic fortnite textures. This is because of the switch holding creative back. Once they finally drop support of the switch Or allow non switch maps creative will explode in what we can do with maps. UEFN was a cool idea but with those restrictions UEFN maps are even smaller. Look at the demo maps epic gave, they looked cool like the one with the dragon but they were very small due to restrictions. This has led to the most popular maps being simple and easy to dupe so we are flooded with 1000's of tycoon games that play exactly the same just with a new theme.
love creative. there needs to be a rating system for players that isn't just a like button. also would be good if there was an indicator to show if you've played a map before.
We need in game V-Buck purchases for Epic to really Make revenue from it and I’m speaking for epic. Not that I would want this. Maybe they could give 50% of profits from Vbucks profits to the creator instead of spending money to give with nothing gotten
I think the only way that could realistically work is if there were a VERY strict creator program where developers could apply after meeting a number of other criterias based on the performance of their existing maps, and then Epic could hand pick a few every once in a while to create approved pieces of content that they could feature on a special tab in the store. I believe Fallout 4 or Fallout 76 did something similar.
UEFN has the issue of not only being quite hard for begginers but also why would I do it for fortnite when you can run Unreal Editor and be an actual game developer
UEFN offers new developers the opportunity to small concepts or test out ideas for larger future projects in a space where there's a built in audience and accessible platform that allows you to make money from it as well. You're welcome to go make your own full game in UE5, but if you're new to it, figuring out where you're going to publish that final product, how you're going to promote it, or even if you have an audience for it, is rather daunting.
If it's too separate though, you run into an "out of sight, out of mind" situation, which would likely result in even fewer players in Creative. Bad news.
I feel like the biggest reason people don’t like creative is because Fortnite has made it replace LTMs. I enjoy LTMs way more than creative but I can’t play them anymore because of creative.
I wouldn't say they replaced them, Fornite wasn't popping out LTMs that often back in the day and we did technically just have a Midas LTM recently that was great. I imagine it's just a man power thing and it's smarter to prio other projects at this point.
Meh I mean as time goes on it’s possible that maps could get better.. but unless there’s HUGE changes to what maps get promoted, it’ll always be a situation where 95% of the content is bad, but there’s some hidden gems that just don’t get promoted by the algorithm, similar to Roblox.
Changes don't have to come suddenly and all at once. They usually happen slowly over time (kinda one of my major points of the video). Almost 4 MILLION new videos are uploaded to RUclips every day. Do you think all of those are good? No. But yet I have no problem finding consistently good content on my homepage. You don't even have to like 95% of the content, as long as that 5% you do enjoy can reach you, you'll have plenty to play.

That Shark Tycoon map was also pretty fun honestly, they do cram a lot into it while still keeping it balanced
I kinda like farm life 4 too when I just want to play something I don’t have to think too hard about
thank you for bringing that up. as a map creator, spending thousand of hours trying to be original, publish, and no one playing it because "the most engaging" section or "the most people loved" is the "bla vs bla", some blabla tycon, and another potato-tomato maps. and sadly it turns us also into them, the "let's just mod a lil as long we make the theme is what's popular now". Fortnite is still not a best place for new maps, but i hope it will get better and better.
My next video is going to be on the most unique maps and I'm specifically searching for maps that feel NOTHING like Fortnite, in a good way. I've been finding some very interesting stuff, although it's been very hard to find.
How do I get this in my recommended 3 months late. I love to see people actually do fortnite creative lore/discussion content. Please keep up the work
As mentioned, the RUclips algorithm is also not perfect 😂. Thanks for checking it out though! I'm chugging along on another video to go out this week hopefully
The creative tagging system is such a mess. I just wanna play some fun death runs but I can’t since half of them are just Only Up maps and the other half is Roblox Obbys.
Feels bad knowing that Battle Lab isn't coming back. It was a fun place to play.
It’s just roblox 2.0 and honestly not in a good way cause now we have 20% percent of actual cool maps and like 80% being some generic, uninspired, boring, cash grab, false advertising, that literally just follows what’s popular atm
So true honestly
True but I'm making creative maps soon. And I'm so not copying cuz that's no fun.
I miss playground mode. Sometimes I just want to walk around in the map and have fun
Dope seeing our Escape CaseOh game featured in the vid - you're pretty much spot on w everything you mentioned lol
I feel they should nuke 95%of combat maps so we can get actual uefn maps and not "(insert brainrot thing here) box fights number 826379266389397"
I’ve seen some insanely good combat maps even that only get like 100 players at most but no go goated or the pit gets thousands or the same copy paste red vs blue for the 10 thousand time.
your videos are so well edited and actually get to the point, most entertaining videos ive watched in a while
Thank you so much! I've been doin this for a while and I'm having a great time channeling that experience into something new. Happy to see you're liking it!
We need to not encourage basic fighting maps and focus on playing actual games that aren’t just red vs blue
It's not really about encouraging/discouraging, it's more about improving accessibility of the tools, creating more educational tools, and improving the algorithm. There's a place for basic fighting games, but they shouldn't make up the prominate majority of the front page when there are other options available that people would love to play it they know they existed.
they should really check the maps that are put on there its even in the policy that maps who are straight up copies of other maps get banned yet they don't really seem to inforce it
We need a “Sort by” option with things like “Most Played”, “Most Popular”, and “Newest”.
these were a Category until the new UI Update for the lobby decided to demolish it. 🥲
Finally another video, I've been waiting. - 10K by the end of July.
Fingers crossed 🤞 🔥
"Time and patience would be the key" yeah, if Epic don't f*cked up over and over again their game, ruin some maps with their weekly buggy updates with changes that everyone didn't ask and then dip for vacation while some creators find their lazy way out with red vs blue pit maps to make easy money...

This would be a very different video if it weren't for Mustard Plays, he's done a LOT for the Creative community and covers more on it than just about anyone

Creative is just so nasty now. It’s used to be so good a few maps for each type of content (fighting , for fun , etc ) & there would be a shit load of people doing whatever you wanted to do whether you loved the map that was on that week or not. Now the only ZW you can get is GOATED which is terrible.
as someone with an RX 580 and a crappy cpu worse than a ryzen 5 3600, you do not need a decent pc to run uefn or unreal engine
btw this videos awesome i subbed
It depends on what you wanna do in UEFN honestly. If you wanna do crazy modeling, animation, and go deep into lighting/VFX like many new creators think will be easy, then yeah you need a beefy setup. But if not, you can get away with less, for sure.
Also, thanks for subbing!
Man, I remember back when creative was introduced. Ever since it did, I spent most of my time looking for maps to try out. I used to hop on the creative Island to see how it looked and to find out what maps were highlighted. I miss the days where creative was still evolving back in chapter 1
Its still evolving now, just in a different way. Don't give up on it yet.
one positive of fortnite creative maps is that we will never be short of infinite xp afk maps which are a literally god send for completing the battlepass and getting to level 200 because it means I don't need to play the game all day everyday I can do other stuff while it slowly and consistently goes up
I do that in fort knight legend lol afk while I go do other stuff

the lumberjack heros map is a little grindy then what I expected but damn is it better then most maps I see which are slop, it gives me hope, and also the fun maps like the snipers vs runners dollhouse and other ones are amazing, just wish that they fixed the lag and stuff with unreal engine change, not even creative maps can optimize it
One of the hardest things for them right now I imagine as far as the lag goes, is balancing so many different platforms. They want it to be a great experience on a high end PC with max graphics and fast internet, as well as for someone who's playing it on Switch in the library.
@@SeeDaveRun they honestly shouldve checked and optimizated 2 years before hand honestly

That's not Fortnite Creative, That's Fortblox
Creative would be so much greater if it were easier to access like 300 subscribers accessible to publish maps and make the moderation for bad maps better and add more memory budget and just give it a better menu ui
This is so demoralizing, I've spent months making high quality maps only for no one to care about because they're too busy playing the same the pit or red vs blue maps

Happy to see an OG here. We've seen it come a long way, but it's still growing.
Can you share that map code with me? I would love to check it out! I'm a Sega Genesis kid, so I'll jump on any Sonic stuff.

Fortnite creative is just glorified Roblox
I've kinda given up on Fortnite & Creative Mode at this point... 😔

They also feature maps on their RUclips page every week or two, that I think a lot of people miss
@@SeeDaveRun yeah that’s true, I saw
This guy is genuinely so underrated. W video man!
Sorry if I make mistakes in English, I'm Brazilian 😅
@@SeeDaveRun Thank you, now I understand 😄
Thank you! Yeah, when I was in school, I would go crazy overboard on my essays -- the teachers did NOT appreciate it 😂
Video is very well done and enjoyable to listen to!!
Finding interesting map is hard
Bro, my Island slots are max 50/50, and i still have so many ideas. We need more island slots EPIC!
I imagine there are more than a few of those maps that either you or the public (if they're published) are not playing anymore. So you can likely delete those for new ones. Realistically, 50 maps is plenty, no need to hoard old ideas just so they can collect dust.
@SeeDaveRun okay tysm

Remember seeing this map with a red vs blue thumbnail, im not kidding they ripped off the red vs blue helmet thingy im sure if anyone has heard of red vs blue knows what im yapping about, and they didnt even give credit or anything, one map i do like that i discovered was a halo on halo mode remade in fortnite pretty fun
It turned into mobile gaming and roblox
i created a few reeally beautiful maps with original game survival mechanics and all.. i hope all my team's hard work pays off and people can have a chance to enjoy our games, but it seems there are going to be a few setbacks since its this UEFN stuff is still pretty new and Epic must be dealing with A LOT of new submissions everyday.. curious to see how this is all going to play out..
Can you send me codes when you have them? My next video is specifically covering unique Fornite maps that feel as far from "traditional" Fortnite as possible. Would love to check it out and potentially feature it!
Dude, this is some quality content, was expecting way more subs.
Ya gotta start somewhere, right? I appreciate you checking it out and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
For me, modes with lots of xp available to gain contributes a lot to me picking it.
Even though I personally detest seeing Creative games recommended to me in the bottom of the screen while waiting in the Battle Royale lobby, that’s precisely how Epic can seduce BR players into exploring Creative.
my problem is that they drastically cut season XP
you used to quickly get 5 levels in less than an hour, now the XP you get looks like breadcrumbs
@@SeeDaveRun you need to be 18 or over to publish maps, thats the main problem with me
That's due to laws on that matter being different state to state and country to country.

Couldn't of had said it better, felt like I just watched a documentary!
I used to produce documentaries back in the day, but none were as popular as these Fortnite videos 😂
love creative. there needs to be a rating system for players that isn't just a like button. also would be good if there was an indicator to show if you've played a map before.
If there were a proper rating system, people would troll the hell out of it, so I don't think that's a good idea

Do you mean allow creators to sell things in their island for v-bucks?
@@SeeDaveRunif so than NOPE

@@SeeDaveRun Yes
I think the only way that could realistically work is if there were a VERY strict creator program where developers could apply after meeting a number of other criterias based on the performance of their existing maps, and then Epic could hand pick a few every once in a while to create approved pieces of content that they could feature on a special tab in the store. I believe Fallout 4 or Fallout 76 did something similar.
There are more red vs blue maps than actual fun maps it’s so stupid
UEFN has the issue of not only being quite hard for begginers but also why would I do it for fortnite when you can run Unreal Editor and be an actual game developer
UEFN offers new developers the opportunity to small concepts or test out ideas for larger future projects in a space where there's a built in audience and accessible platform that allows you to make money from it as well. You're welcome to go make your own full game in UE5, but if you're new to it, figuring out where you're going to publish that final product, how you're going to promote it, or even if you have an audience for it, is rather daunting.
Well researched video and nicely delivered. Subbed
Thank you! I love doing educational vids like this from time to time, even though they take much longer to illustrate 😅.
Just wanna say I love the videos! 👍
My only problem is how it overwhelms everything and how you get to it on the ui it needs it seperate space and the other main Fortnite game moods
If it's too separate though, you run into an "out of sight, out of mind" situation, which would likely result in even fewer players in Creative. Bad news.
They killed battle lab, for this.
BABE WAKE UP NEW SEEDAVERUN VIDEO
when good maps get underlooked and instead red vs blue and 3v3 get 20k players daily
@@SeeDaveRun that’s true, I just think they need to improve how maps get recommended to people then
