I make container candles & thinking about venturing into the world of pillar candle making. Question, how on earth do you stop the wax from leaking around the wick at the bottom of the mold? I've never made one before, but that question has always came to mind.
BTW you're a fantastic teacher & I've learned so much in the past 2 years by watching your channel.
I use blue tack and duct tape. I've used Silly Putty and duct tape. The key is plenty of duct tape. I learned through trial and error. The duct tape comes off easily.
I do the same thing with my leftover wax. Sometimes I make tarts with it if it's paraffin
I have been seeing so many pillar candles with dried flowers, I wonder how can you burn it safely. Wont those elements burn?
Which wax is good for pillar candles .
And which additive should we use.
I have a question I hope you'll answer for me. Can you mix soy and paraffin wax together

Can you guide me how to avoid horizontal lines in my candle. I looked it up, maybe they are called jump lines. I am not sure
Also I needed to ask can use heat gun to warm up your plastic mould. It won't damage it or anything right?
Moulds are too expensive in my country
In my limited research, I have been told that it happens if you’re pouring the wax at too low of a temperature. I haven’t had a chance to check if this is the case yet. I have also, in my limited research, found that it’s okay to heat up your molds using a heat gun on a low heat, but, again, I haven’t had a chance to test it out so please do your own research before ruining your molds/candles.

Tunnelling is what can happen when the candle is burning.
