    Mine arrived two days ago.
    Managed the unboxing, assembly & getting the whole thing upright all on my own & I'm no spring chicken (67 in November).
    Tomorrow I'll spend some time getting everything aligned correctly.
    BTW No DVD included these days.
    Blade's OK for thin material but I bought this mostly for resawing, so I've ordered a couple of blades From Tuff Saws more suitable for the task.

    I bought a 350s last week. It’s a brilliant bandsaw, cuts hardwood like butter.

    Thanks for a great video. I especially like the tip about the magnet holding a ruler against the blade for aligning the table to the blade.
    I am looking for a blade guide upgrade for my RP BS350 and was wondering if the sabre guides would fit mine.
    Many thanks
    Dave

    A really thorough unboxing and initial thoughts John. I'm sure you'll get much use out of it.
    I've had the BS400 for over 6 years now, and it hasn't missed a beat.
    Great video mate.
    Cheers
    Mike

      Thanks Mike. I was torn between the bs400 and the sabre 350. The 350 is slightly smaller but has a similar depth of cut hence my decision. I do love it. I can see it being used a lot!

    Nice. You're gonna need to un-box a bigger Shop soon to hold all your toys !

    The advantage of the 450 is you dont need to assemble it other than bolt on the table. The downside is it weights an absolute tonne

      Yep the 350 does seem to be the sweet spot

    Hi Mr. Clothier...
    Nice to see you've put up another video...i hope you enjoyed your Xmas...
    Several things:
    1) The weight of this item...
    Important and necessary...to avoid vibration...
    2) that allen key holder...
    Get a bit of flat black plastic and use it as a backing for that bracket...
    This will stop the paint from getting scratched over time as your removing and replacing the Allen keys
    3) the base...
    You may find a bit of weight in that helps...
    A few sandbags in there will do it...
    4) the fence bar and the fence itself...
    I'd have assembled and installed the fence arrangements itself before making the adjustments...
    Easier and will eliminate any creeping errors...its the FENCE in relation to the blade that should be your register for square...
    5) I like the fact that it's a shielded intake for the electrical supply...
    Protects it from dust and water splashes/moist wood cuttings...
    6) I have a very old bandsaw that's designed to run off flat belts from a lineshaft...
    The table has a couple of rollers that it rests on...but its not too dissimilar an arrangement to what you have here...
    This was a nice short tutorial on how to put one of these record bandsaws into service...
    I hope you'll be showcasing some more of your creations soon... 😊
    With thanks

    Nice piece of kit John :) I couldn't imagine being without my bandsaw now. It's become probably the most used power tool in the workshop ॐ

      Thanks. Yes it really is. A side from my lathe I would say it's the most used machine I have. Even more than the drill

    nice one john , lucky lucky you, i am thinking of getting a small bandsaw soon , any advise i was looking at the triton one from screwfix as i will only use it for small projects

    • @JohnClothier
      @JohnClothier  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks Lindsay. I have never used the triton one so I dont't really have any advice on it. It will largely be down to what you will use it for. If you want accurate cuts or just for trimming things. I have used the small axminster and this and I can tell you that the bigger the bandsaw the better

      @@JohnClothier thnx i was going to give making bandsaw boxes a try as they look nice and a bit different

    • @JohnClothier
      @JohnClothier  6 лет назад +1

      I would go with something a bit bigger If you can. The Titan is a bit small for boxes I would say. Pam Harris would be the one to ask really though

      @JohnClothier  6 лет назад +1

      Thanks Warren. It is! Yes the wheel kit is the axminster version as it's what I had on my old one. Its too heavy to move without one. Happy New year to you and yours too

    That's a real beast compared to what you had. Certainly true in that you get what you pay for. Just as well you have a large workshop.

    • @JohnClothier
      @JohnClothier  6 лет назад

      Certainly is! The depth of cut is about 3 times that of the old one and that was my main reason for upgrading.
