@justinnate82 I have the vulcan 900, after a few thousand miles the stock pipes just start to sound better all on their own... They start to sound a little louder and growl more, but it's still kinda quiet. It's a nice sound IMO.
what is the fasination with men and loud pipes??.i worked at a bike shop & saw so many bikes of all types loose HP/POWER when put on the dyno machine after market pipes..
if you to pipes, air intake and a tune most of the time you can get a 15% gain in hp and torque. on paper is might only be about 8 or 9 hp but when you make 50 hp at the wheel and you are now making 59 that is a huge jump. you get more power, better fueling, better throttle response and it smooths out the bike a lot. it's not always about horsepower either. every knows you don't get a big jump in power. its mostly for the sound and how the bike runs after is why they do it. i put pipes, a new air intake and rejetted the carbs (they needed to be rebuilt anyways) and mine runs so much better then before. i didn't gain a lot of horsepower but i no longer have a jerky throttle that it use to have and it sounds pretty awesome to
I just bought the Cobra Powerflo air intake and fi2000r PowerPro auto tuner. I am waiting for my cobra swept pipes to arrive. Before install them on my Vulcan 900 Custom I would like to know about the baffles. Does anyone recommend taking them off or leaving them on.
Have the same setup on my 900--trust me, they are plenty loud with the baffles in. In fact, I was interested in changing them out for a quieter set. My wife says she can easily hear me coming 1/4 mi. away. So, if loud is what you're looking for with a bad ass G-R-O-W-L on a quick rev, you got it!
Just to add; With the mentioned mods, the recommended pod settings for the FI2000R are 4-2-1 for the Vulcan 900. Note: This setting, particularly for pod 1 setting of 4, is for sea level, so you'll want to consider this if you plan on tweaking the unit. The higher your elevation, perhaps turn that pod back a little bit to keep your mixture properly in balance.
Dave B in some states you don't need one it's your choice. As I'm from New Zealand it's mandatory and I personally don't agree with the state's allowing you to not have one.
The stock exhaust sounded much more "beefy". And better in my opinion.
Nice stock sound never knew my bike sounded so good!!
Really tasteful looking bike. Would these exhausts on a new VN 900 classic invalidate the warranty? (I live in the UK).
You can save money and remove the baffle from the pipes and they sound phenomenal
nice comparison....know what my first mods are gonna be!!!
I thought the stock sounded alright.

is this with or without the baffles????
Does the tuner take care of the engine ticking noise that theses 900 have
What back rest is that? I like the shape but it doesn't look detachable.

a good set of pipes and a tuner will increase horsepower and torque. if it not a good tune then you will lose power
ok but at what cost? to gain how much HP?.iv seen a guy spend $1200. to gain 3hp.is that really worth i?

I'd go with a Cobra 2 into 1 system
