For these types of tests, you really do need to have some thermal mass in there, such as maybe half full of water in bottles because unlike your home refrigerator, there is no air circulation in there. Also, when you are checking the little analog thermometer, it raises several degrees during the check. It's funny that EcoFlow came out with a similar idea last year, but with an NMC battery and funky ice maker that only runs with the internal battery, this Bluetti product looks like it corrects all of the EcoFlow misses. I wish Bluetti would have just came out with the AC180-T in the first place instead of offering the AC180 first. Thanks for a very detailed real world review! You are the hands down winner in getting these new product reviews out days or weeks before anyone else:)

Great presentation as always. I own a Ecoflow Glacier. Has ice maker as well. It makes nice ice cubes, but only 1 round. Have to set it again and again to make more. My hope with this one is as it makes multiple rounds of ice. They will stay frozen. I wished that was explained. I have one on order and hope I will be pleased with this one. I wasn't sure if I needed the battery, but after watching im going to add one to the order now. Camping doesn't have to be primitive and this proves it. Thanks again.

@@TechMadeEzy I've owned mine for about 6 months. Looks and works beautifully. Just wished it would auto make ice. I'm a bit of a preper . Weather, world events. Want to be ready for my family . Ice would be nice in texas. Lol.

Cool one day I’m looking to do some camping and stuff like that. I haven’t done it since I was a kid but thanks for sharing that.

@MarkFanick have you made ice in your Glacier yet? I double run it in about 5 extra minutes you end up with substantially larger ice cubes and they actually start touching each other and they still come out really easily when you tell it to release. Farr better ice cubes and this looks like it's capable of doing. These thin little flaky things the bluetti makes aren't going to work very well in whiskey 😢 I was super excited for this unit and the auto ice as well when it first started getting advertised especially with these hot swap batteries but I think I'm invested in the Eco in ecoflow at the moment. Hoping they provide batteries for the original Glacier in a few years when these batteries die. Also especially if there's any mineral in your water, this automatic ice maker looks like it's going to be an absolute nightmare to try and clean where the Eco flo, you just wipe it out with a rag with vinegar and it's good as new

@NoZenith yes, I make the larger ones. I didn't notice them being made any faster after first 3 loads. But they were consistent size and being bullet style. Drink seemed to cool faster than a cube style

Good review. Might have missed this, but how do you lift it up to get it onto the back of a truck or SUV. Seems like they need a couple of strong handles on each end. Al, hope you're getting close to being able to do this full time. Your reviews are super professional and definitely fun to watch👍

Thanks Frank, the handles on the side are totally fine it's about 69 lbs w the battery in it or 52 lbs without so not bad.

I would recommend placing a wireless thermometer inside or a corded thermometer.
It gets a bit annoying after awhile.
Bluetti should place an actual internal thermometer with a digital display.

I have a favor to ask.
What are the dimensions of the cooler?
I would like to have it in my Honda Ridgeline trunk.
I went ahead and ordered them through Indigogo. I bought the ac180t and the cooler separately.
It's cheaper by 10 dollars to order separately?
      Especially the height.

      The trunk depth is 17.
I'll have a bed cover. I can leave the lid open.

Hey, thanks for putting out a much more in depth video on this than pretty much anyone else with a preview unit.
One rumor I heard was that the refrigeration side stops working when it is making ice.
Can you by any chance confirm that?

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  7 месяцев назад

How it works is you want to make sure your refrigerator is at the temperature you want with the items inside then just simply make some ice. If you watch the video making ice doesn't take long. The unit only has one compressor but if the refrigerator is at the temperature that you need it to be and you're not opening and closing the door for the next 10 minutes while you're making ice you should be fine

@@TechMadeEzy Yeah, I imagine it wouldn't be a terrible thing I just can foresee using this on the pool deck for drinks and ice so people don't have to track water in the house. I guess running the icemaker for a half hour before would be a best practice to get that compartment cold to start.
