The point about ‘84 is that the chequered flag was shown too. Only the red flag should have been shown. So, by the regulation at the time, the chequered flag determined the order as they crossed the line. Senna was the legit winner of the ‘84 Monaco GP.

Senna was pure magic to watch. And that's why he's still remembered to this day. There were no unmemorable Senna races, and you easily get memsorized watching his race. Even with slower cars, there was always something special coming up.

In 84, a couple of months after the Monaco race, I visited the circuit and paid my respect to Senna by taking souvenir pictures at the chicane where he damaged the suspension and the grid place where he started. The painted number 19 was still there.
Ayrton really shows that when i driver is in the zone, let the driver do his thing. He is a legend and it will never be forget. Ayrton Senna é imortal.
I suspect the reason that Ayrton Senna loved Monaco so much is that there was zero room for error. Ayrton knew he had the advantage on such a track. He had trained himself, in every possible scenario, to excel at the very limits of every turn, regardless the track. But at Monaco, you had to be in love with the armco. You had to drive right at it, full speed, and wait to the absolute last moment to brake and to turn. And Ayrton had no fear of that. Ayrton was definitely one of a kind.
I have followed Senna's career all the way through, when he died I cried for one whole week as if he was a close member of my family. Bruno seems to be a down to earth person. Nice to see him.
Great piece recounting Ayrton’s Monaco moments. I would only add that his out of body experience wasn’t on the Sunday during the race. It’s right that Ron told him to slow down as he was needlessly reacting to Prost setting fastest laps after he finally passed Berger. However, the out of body experience was actually done on Sat. He actually spooked himself that day and then parked the car up having already been 1.4 secs faster than Prost.
The guy was a top quality driver, one of the best to ever do it but they are so right, it was his character as a human being combined with his talent that makes his legacy live on. I remember being a kid in the early 90s playing Ayrton Sennas Super Monaco GP on the old Sega thinking how awesome it would be to be an F1 driver like Senna.
Amazing, he looks just like his uncle. Man imagine having Senna as your uncle. Free food for the whole year! Thank you for the memories Ayrton and thanks for sharing Bruno.
Every time I see one of his cars, I get butterflies in my stomach, and then say to myself "The Boss sat here". They have a huge aura surrounding them, and unlike the F2004, FW14, W11 and RB19 which are admired for being wonders of engineering, Senna's cars are admired for being driven by the best ever.

Bruno is so underrated, though. Always shadowed by such an unfair comparison to his uncle. I was so happy for Bruno when he won Lmp2, finally showing he, "the other Senna", is also a top driver, a world champion in his own right.
Today, Hunter Lawrence in the AMA Motocross series rocked a Senna tribute jersey with a Marlboro logo on the back of his helmet. Looked like Bruno's shirt with long sleeves and matching pants lol
Ayrton Senna was the one and only talented race driver way above the rest , and the world would probably never see another one like him.He would have won another 8 or more world championship he was not take so soon from us all.I remember at the time of his passing that I was unable to eat, talk or sleep properly for at least a week.

What a great way to relive Ayrton Senna's moment at the Principality of Monaco: Walking around the streets of Monaco! By the way, Bruno Senna, for me, is not a bad driver. However, he's not have a enough luck during his Formula One World Championship career.
Senna doesn't have all the Formula 1 records because his life was interrupted halfway through, he died at the height of his career, even though we only have guesses as to how far his numbers would go, we know that Senna is the best because he was superior to the others in all aspects. conditions that made riding more difficult. racing in the rain is the most challenging condition for a driver and Senna was superior.
