    The only suggestion I would add is to count the 'clicks' of the brake adjuster when you loosen it and then apply the same number when you put it back. That way you're very close to the adjustment before you started. Great Job!!

    Even I was able to do this by myself thanks to your video! Did 1 side today in 3 hours. Snapped one of the caliper guide bolts. So glad I have apt tomorrow for HPFP recall so they can take care of that bolt. Hope the next side will go easier now that I know!

    Nice, would have been a good idea to take the star wheel out for the E brake and lightly coat the threads with anti seize or your grease so it wont seize in the future, they are known to seize. It's a 2016, FLUSH that fluid too and replace with synthetic replacement. What bumper is on the rear??

      @@zxtenn i just had a stock bumper on the rear

    Just did mine. What an awful job it was. Had to beat on the rotors for 2 hours with heat to get them off. When they came off the ebrake shoes fell apart. Had to do them too. You need about 4 hands to get the springs back together.

    Can you explain in detail what’s the appropriate pressure when turning the cogwheel on the brake shoes when the new rotors were put on?

  • @nonagreeable

    I just did mine now one side is smoking like crazy, think maybe the pad is sticking

    • @MJAltairy
      @MJAltairy  2 года назад

      Could also just be the oil/residue that’s just burning off the rotors fro when they were packaged. Does it coast fine or does it feel “limited” like the truck is being held back?

    • @nonagreeable
      @nonagreeable 2 года назад

      @@MJAltairy it coasts ok, I'm going to jack it up and try turning the tire to see if I feel/hear any resistance. It was a TON of smoke, I thought it was on fire at first.

    • @garyp9906
      @garyp9906 Год назад

      @@nonagreeable Did you ever figure out what the problem was? It sounds like perhaps you tightened the rear brake adjuster too much and it was causing the brake shoes to rub, causing all that smoke. That's what I'm worried about when I do mine. If too tight, that is a possibility. Too loose and the parking brake doesn't work like it should.

    • @nonagreeable
      @nonagreeable Год назад

      @@garyp9906 so what happened was that after I changed the rotors and pads my first few drives included towing a trailer so the extra weight of stopping caused excessive smoke from the oil residue. Everything was fine after about a week. I did damage my parking brake shoes in the installation process though.
