The embankment gave way at 2:30 AM, and that back right wheel was HANGING OFF the part that collapsed.

    • @le_th_

Surely you understand how an RV works??? It is hooked into shore power, and water, and usually up on hydraulic jacks to stabilize it. You can't just jump in the driver's seat and drive forward. How do you think they have electricity? How do you think they take showers in there? How do you think they can run a refrigerator (tip: they have hydraulic jacks that LEVEL the entire vehicle to the refrigerator can function).
      It's not a car. It's not a truck. It's not an SUV. It's not a moving van.
Have you never once seen someone try to PARK an RV...and watch how long it takes them to get it straight...then level...then hook it up to the water and the shore power???
I'm guessing that is a NO?
Yeah, I don't have an RV either, but all it takes is watching one or two YT videos and seeing what a freaking hassle it is to have one. That is why no one just "hopped in the driver seat and drove it 20 feet".
Did you see that back right tire hanging OFF the part that collapsed?
These people were asleep when this suddenly gave way. They were lucky to get out alive, with their pets, and their identity documents and meds.

@@le_th_ Calm down there keyboard warrior. That's a $250,000 rig, so what's worth more? Taking 5 seconds to unplug the electrical cord, unscrew the garden hose, and kick the plastic sewer pipe out from under, and drag it while still on the jacks if for some reason those won't retract? Or spend 8-10hrs standing around doing nothing, and letting it fall in and be a total loss, a bit of a hazmat situation, and a monster of a recovery operation (not that it's savable, but to get it out of the river or later, the ocean.

Sometimes people leave them there so they can get a new R.V. on an insurance claim.

I don't get why people hear about inclement weather and assume it's not going to affect them? Okay, so maybe you don't think you need an evacuation plan, but you don't even think to pull the slides in and prepare something just in case? This is like when the monsoon would come and people would still try to drive through low lying areas. Famous last words, "I can make it!"

Hello All-State. Is my motorhome covered by a river eating it ?

  • @magicone9327

Must have insurance and don’t want to finish paying for that motorhome, obvious negligence, maybe the vid will help the insurance prove the owner could have moved it but chose not to.

Could have disconnected the drive shaft on the motorhome and pulled it away from the edge. That's an insurance job for sure.

Perfect example of how utterly incapable people are of functioning on their own. “Well, if someone from the government isn’t going to MOVE IT FOR ME. I clearly cannot do it on my own” I’m surprised they were able to get themselves out of the RV and to safety without assistance
