Some cop28 attendees would argue 700 million is to much, saying - have you any idea how much fine wines and Michelin chef meals cost, and then there's the expense of running private jets, We are the ones suffering here.

Currently, rich and developed countries are focused on increasing military budgets, increasing the production and consumption of weapons. The climate problem and its consequences are not their priority.

It depends on how many tens of dollars out of half a billion actually goes towards resolving issues... and not in someone's pocket. Source: Well-documented reality that people tend to ignore.

I would like to see the loss and damage funds go to NGOs that work in the devestated areas, instead of those funds being given to governments.

Let's hope that the bulk of the funds should not end up in top dogs' private bank accounts.

I think it is time to review the term rich countries. Fact is that many so called developing countries have a much lower tax rate, e.g. to attracked businesses from so called rich countries and it works. Second, so called poor countries are usually having a high score in corruption meaning enriching a few against further country's development. Therefore, so called rich countries should not feel guilty to help everyone else - having a look into many of them, the situation internally doesn't look good - so does the future for some.

What America is supporting Ukraine with could solve alot of the problems. Countries have no problems waging war, but not stopping man made crises that hurt tens of millions.
