  • The second round of the 2013 GNCC series marked the first win for Kailub Russell in Washington, GA. Sunday's Maxxis General GNCC was all about another 3 hour battle between Kailub and his teammate Charlie Mullins who was edged out by less than a couple seconds! Kailub definitely didn't make it easy on himself after going down in the first corner and starting from the back of the XC1 pack. Heading into the third round at Steele Creek Campground in Morganton, NC- the KTM teammates are tied up in points and will make for an intense season of racing. Check out the Motosport.com helmet cam as Kailub fights his way to first place!

    I'd just like to note he went front last to second on that lap, he was on a 350 and he consciously wipes the gopro. Russell was IN THE ZONE! Keep it up buddy!

    Kailub, how the heck did you pick yourself up off the ground in the first corner? Hard to tell from the GoPro but I never saw you dismount the bike yet it was flat on the ground. Tripod style!

    I don't have any tips for remembering the track, except for walk it and visualize exactly how your gonna go through certain sections.

    Its a race .... No time for hesitation. Just wish these tracks were little more technical and not so wide open. My first race was Tarentum fireball and hard rock bunners ridge. Handle bars wouldn't fit thru some trees. Maybe this is better for the sport and fans I don't know... Anyways great ride and come back # 1

    Awesome video and awesome rider! I completely agree about the bullshit move at 1:32 where the other guy tried to cut him off by changing lines. He was on the right side of the trail and KR was passing on the left. He clearly moved to the left line to try to cut him off. Stuff like that can ruin a guys career... trees don't move.

    As a fellow offroader and i also have a B level AMA Title. I have to say your line choices are great. For though's that don't race if you run up on someone (there slower than you.)
    Any quick tips for remembering the course in the shortest time? My bigest problem. Great race KR.

    thanks for the video. not much effort was put into making that third gear wide open track. next year they should race up and down the Georgia turnpike. And why do the pros need their pit crew at the mudholes to point out lines for them, embarrassing.

    Im with the guy below. Im not as big of a Russell fan as i used to be. It seems like you rev your engine more than any other pro ive seen to get people out of your way. Its like you just expect people to get out of your way even if your not that much faster than them. With that being said i am not even 10% the rider that you are and im sure you could find things you dont like about the way i do my job. Keep kicken ass dude.

    I understand that you were angry about going down in the first turn but the guy at 1:32 didn't see you. He probably didn't expect YOU to be in the back of the pack either, because if he knew YOU were behind him he definitely would've moved. If your dog likes stones then so be it, its just not something you see everyday. I'm sorry for judging you when I don't actually know you. I know you race for a living, and you are extremely talented. I just didn't think that mid pack guy saw that it was you.

    I know it's not kalibs fault but, Is it really fair that the KTM pit guy is out there covering up lines (by standing in front of it) and then jumps out of the way when the KTM guy comes. Look at 8:50 mark and as josh come thru he is over the line and then jumps out of the way. I get it that he is just trying to help but its boarder line cheating. He did pass josh because of that line.

    It seems like they sennsored "fuck you" at 1:32? If that is so it was really immature by Kailub.

  • @OffroadEthan
    @OffroadEthan 11 лет назад

    It sounds like he said "Get the fuck out of the way". No matter what the situation was, he still shouldn't have freaked out on the guy. Even watching the Driven to Ride series him and his buddies are throwing rocks in the air and trying to hit the dogs on the head with one is messed up. Not a fan of Russell as much anymore.

  • @Rmrstudio01
    @Rmrstudio01 11 лет назад

    almost punting someone into the trees not cool. I don't mind getting bumped in open field but in the trees not cool.5:58 you rev to pass? umm he had inside protected go around if his too slow. your getting upset because someone is in your preferred line. yes you make living at this so act like a pro and find lines get around not punt people out of the way.

  • @kailubrussell3866
    @kailubrussell3866 11 лет назад

    Why do pro ball teams need coaches? Why do golfers need caddie's? It's pretty simple, to keep them on track and guide them! Why would my pit crew, and team chance factory riders ( that they have alot invested in) getting stuck in a mud hole, when they could easily guide us through? It would be more embarrassing on their part, for not doing their job. So until there is a rule against it, (which will never happen) my team will be pointing lines not just to me, but most likely everyone.

  • @kailubrussell3866
    @kailubrussell3866 11 лет назад

    And you don't even need to go there about my dog. He is my most prized possession. And he just looked like he was having an awful time in that video huh? For some reason you throw him a stick, he'll look at you like your stupid. You throw him a rock and he's pumped. That being said,don't go spout off on here about what you think you saw in a 2 sec clip.

  • @kailubrussell3866
    @kailubrussell3866 11 лет назад

    Alright let me clear things up buddy. Try putting yourself in my shoe's, I had just went down in the first turn, the last thing I want to deal with, is some mid pack rider trying to run me into the tree's( pause it 1:32). I do this for a living, not a hobby. I'm thinking to myself if im gonna win this race, I need to pass all of these guys as quickly as possible. Excuse me for expressing my freedom of speech.
