- Today in this video I look at video game rumors that I was dumb enough to actually fall for. Also for the end I know it's not specifically video game rumors but it's a bit of a tease because I eventually want to talk about not only video game leaks, but also stupid video game titles.

Today in this video I look at video games rumors like herobrine that appear in minecraft 1.16, Halo's golden warthog (also the Halo infinite tech preview was really fun), and also Grand Theft Auto V's Mt. Chiliad mystery. There's many more things I talk about in the video, including luigi in super mario 64, GTA san andreas sasquatch, and also GTA youtubers. I swear I will spam the a button when catching a Pokémon for the rest of time. The first time I tried it, I caught the SoulSilver Raikou with a Pokéball. I will forever swear it works.

I used to believe it, but broke out of that. I have a side hobby of catching legendaries in Pokeballs, so I have lots of patience and have seen how little it affects anything. Tho I will still do it when people are watching me play, just to troll.
For me it’s alternating between A and B or left and right on the dpad.

I stopped believing this 'friend' and when they told me about this 'awesome new minecraft update with wings and a city appearing after you beat the ender dragon' I didn't believe them for weeks until I searched it up online 🤣

I had such a friend in middle school. Whenever he talked to me about a "japanese RPG with mickey mouse and donald duck" or "a fighting game with every nintendo character in it" I just thought that he was making shit up as usual and didn't believe him until I learned about Smash Bros and Kingdom Hearts years later.

I think the mount chiliad easter egg was supposed to be solved by a single player DLC. But due to the Online mode success, it was done into an Online exclusive DLC, being the doomsday heist

this and the Super Smash bros stuff were my childhood, I still have that wii on to this day in that 99x99x99x99 fight going on in Brawl going for the 2 year achievement. I will play masterhand!

@@orangeguy5374 Yeah, but there was a time were either mods weren't that popular as it is now or I was simply dumb, so I tried it without knowing that it wasn't possible in vanilla Minecraft.

Herobrine scared the fuck out of me as a kid. I didn't played Minecraft for years at one point cause I was so scared Herobrine was gonna take over my body or some shit like that

I agree with the length of the Kingdom Hearts games. Also I think there was a ghost girl in GTA V. The only rumor that I fell for back in the day was Herobrine
I think the ghost girl you mentioned in GTA 5 is an Easter Egg.
i dont remember it 100% but the ghost girl is real in gta v it spawns on mount chilliad when its night time and theres a news headline about her husband killing her wife and the wife is supposed to be the ghost

This is one of the few arguments for game streaming services like google stadia and shit.
You'd be able to make games with actual secrets again, since you can't really datamine them.
wouldn't you still be able to check out what's in RAM though?
You could just use techniques to make games extremely hard to datamine, obviously someone could still do it
But with enough work it could be made mostly impractical to do it
@@ninja_raven256 I don't know how stadia would do it, but I thought the idea was that you have no data on your end other than the video feed.
You send your controller input to them, they run the game, and then they send you a "stream" of the game back.
or just make the spooky secrets appear during gameplay so you cant datamine it, just maybe take screenshots or something.
dont know if it would work, but developers could encode the secrets and code in an decoder in th game only able to read that specific part of code in specific scenarios. like for example code an enigma machine in your game and make part of the secret coding lines the solution for the machine to read the rest of the code.
This is a really obscure one but my friend got me to believe that if you did enough damage to General Grievous in Republic Commando it would trigger a secret cutscene at the end showing that Sev was still alive.
I remember flying out of the map for hours in GTA San Andreas cause I was convinced there was actually a secret island somewhere

The whole Halo 3 Recon skull got me once before. I knew it was fake when not only they had the vidmaster challenges but that it also seemed too good to be true for it being too easy to be just one skull found in the game that gives you something that rare in the game.
favorite video game myth i made up and always thought was true, even though it wasn't yet i still do it to this day: rocking the d-pad back and forth when opening a chest in shovel knight will make more gold pickups drop.
(no one knows of this rumor, it's just a thing i thought was true because i did it so often)

The statue in mario 64 is meant to be a nod that Luigi was in to be in the game but was scrapped and made as a easter egg
One i will always remember is in call of duty black ops. When the call of the dead dlc zombie map was announced it showed danny trejo using machetes and Robert england using a pitchfork in the trailer. Me and my friends were so sure that they were actual usable weapons in the dlc map and i forgot where i heard it, but i read at the time that if you pack a punch the crossbow you get the pitchfork and the ballistic knife would upgrade to the machetes. If you know anything about black ops zombies, you would know that those are a couple of the worst weapons in the zombies mode and could only be gotten using the mystery box. So we spent a whole night during a sleep over trying to get lucky enough to not only get one of those weapons in the mystery box, but to also hold them and live long enough to unlock the pack a punch machine to do it. We were wrong.

Gta5 mountain mystery, the egg is (i assume) related to the egg from the specific resupply mission for the bunker. I know basically nothing about it but I did saw a video explaining a bunch of easter eggs and whatever and it seems to be a possible relation
The gta secret was solved years ago and it's very unspectacular and logical actually. Rockstar never revealed it because players build so much hype around it that it would be completely dissapointing.
a rumor i still believe to this day even tho i know it's not true is, YOU HAVE to refresh your pc after launching because.. idk but i did it when i was 8-9 and i keep doing it and I can't imagine myself stopping

I only fell for one rumor as a kid and that was Unlocking Waluigi in Super Mario 64 DS which was in hindsight the Gen Z version of the prior Luigi rumor

Luigi was real and he was revealed to us 24 years and 1 month after the release of SM64. Also I’m pretty sure I saw herobrine as a kid, I got my brother to confirm it was him and we were both confident.

I think the egg on the mount chilliad mural could be a reference to the secret alien tattoo, that you get when you complete I think it was 800 bunker resupply missions, get the special one and capture the alien egg and when you pass out in the bar during the night while it's raining outside and then you wake up on a beach without clothes with the tattoo and with a ufo behind you.

24 years after the game was released someone on 4chan data mined the game and found unused Luigi models next to the L is real text in the game files

I remember back in like the early days of Minecraft, I saw this video on how to go to the Aether so I built the portal and placed water and it didnt light. I was so disappointed and tried to do it many times but it just wouldnt work.

I remember when my brother and I played Minecraft for the first time. Our first house was made of dirt (obviously) and it was a few blocks underground. The roof could still be seen. Anyway, we made a tunnel leading down for mining. We always covered the tunnel entrance with dirt blocks to make it hidden. Later on we built our first wooden house and buried the dirt house (It was only a few blocks away). A few research about Minecraft and we heard about Herobrine. I remember all those years trying to find him but no luck. Years went by and both of us had forgotten about the world, but after a while of me scrolling down to the old worlds I found it again. So I made a backup of it to preserve it the way we left it last time, copied it to my flash drive, and played on it for a while. (At this point, since I had not played on it for years, I actually forgot about the buried dirt house and the secret tunnel) So I started digging and found the old buried dirt house's interior again. I wanted to add more space and that's when I uncovered the tunnel again after a long time and I actually thought it was Herobrine because of those rumors. But I wanted to find out and so I went in the tunnel and went on until the end. I was terrified as fuck. And then... I remembered that it was the tunnel my brother and I built long ago and I felt stupid.

Hypothesis: Rockstar releases content just enough to keep sales/DLC relevant. Mount chilliad will probably be hinted at more of sales dip down.
I remember in Forza Horizon 3, my friend told me you could go to the top of a certain hill and if you drove to a certain place on it you would unlock the warthog.

When I was a ten year old and black ops 1 first came out, I heard a rumor that, when playing zombies, if you shoot the box four times with your m1911, go prone, get up, and shoot it four more times it will always give you a ray gun. I tried it on kino and it actually worked first try. Even today, a 23 year old man, I still do that to the box when playing zombies despite the fact that the box has your average usual rng

I know what the mount chiliad mystery is. I saw on a video somewhere where the guy explained the cancelled story dlcs. According to that video in a dlc for Franklin mountain chiliad breaks in half and aliens come out of the inside, which to me seems to line up with the mural.

Not quite the same thing but I'd go onto DS Download Play on the DS Lite or multiplayer on some game and wait for someone to show up. Little did I know that's not exactly how it works
Related thing with backstory: in about May 2013 I got my dad's shitty old Windows XP computer with Minecraft 1.5.2 on it. It was unable to be connected to the internet (Idk the specifics, either it was only ethernet (my room was on the other side of the house from the router), or my mom just didn't want me to run rampant around the internet unsupervised at 12 years old), so basically I could only play an older version of Minecraft singleplayer and it would be almost unplayable without playing only superflat. I had also heard the funny spooky Herobrine stories, so I thought it would be funny if I started up a world, built some weird spooky mysterious structure (just a short 1x2 tunnel with redstone torches in it), opened it to LAN so someone else could join (again, not how that works), then in true Herobrine fashion, hid inside with a lava bucket in my hand waiting for the unsuspecting, nonexisting victim. Lol, lmao.
English is not my first language, and when I first read the "removed herobrine" in the Patchnotes of Minecraft I actually didnt know what "removed" meant.
With a Pulse of 200 because I was scared shitless from Herobrine I actually just ran toward the next dictionary and looked up the word's meaning. To my disappointment, I realized that it meant that he was, yeah, removed from the game as a joke. (I cant think of another word for "removed" right now lmao)
So here I was, a 10 year old boy starting Minecraft again, excited do play Survival Games and not scared at all, because I just learned a new word.
In pokemon ruby I thought I could catch regice by going to that rock in the middle of the ocean and staring at it for an hour
Sucks that all the Mt. Chiliad rumors were teasers for DLC that were cancelled by R* to prioritize GTA:O
I remember I played Minecraft for the first time in 9-10th grade (I was more of a Mario fan back then) and my friend showed me how to unlocked stuff like the nether and end in creative mode and I was like “yoo 10 random black blocks and fire create a portal ? Neat” and then, of course, he told me about Herobrine and how to summon him and I was like “I mean yeah, sure, it’s probably just an Easter egg” and then after a few minutes of scrolling on the internet I realised that It was just the “Mew is under the truck” type of stuff and I was disappointed. Honestly though why do 10 Obsidian blocks (It could’ve been any other block) in a 2x3 (if you make it any smaller, it doesn’t work), and then you light a goddamn fire on it, it suddenly opens ? There isn’t any way of finding it other than going on Google
I remember googling if you could unlock Luigi as a playable character in Super Mario Galaxy. I saw people said you had to get over 180 stars or complete the whole game or something. I completed the whole game, but I never unlocked Luigi. 💀
