-Our Intro Song "Feel the Love" From Alex's band
open.spotify.c...
Looping back quick to check out this track! You guys said we had to hit this one next!! Cheers all what’s next from Randy or the Guess who?! 🙌🏻🔥
Takin care of business next guys
Love the stutter. BTO had a lot of fun with it. The stutter was an imitation of someone else. But after hearing the recording they thought it worked.
Try Bad to the Bone for some good studdering
Not BTO or The Guess Who but a great Canadian band Doug & the Slugs anything off the Cognac & Bolgna album, Thunder Makes a Noise and Chinatown Calculations and Too Bad ...not a bad tack on the entire album
I can't believe you hit this before "No Sugar Tonight/New Mother Nature".
That's just wrong.
However, there can be redemption. You know what to do guys.
Make it right and all is forgiven.
The stuttering on this song is Randy imitating his brother who had a real stutter. This cut was never supposed to be the final song, but the producer wanted to keep it in.
Nice job with that comment Susan.👍 You beat me to it.😊
Correct! I've see Randy interviewed a couple times and he says he was making fun of his brother and they loved it in the song.
@@freebirdtony And then I looked at you with my big brown eyes and said..I beat you to it!
@@susanklasinski1805
Lol!🤣
That's a good one.😊
Wow... I never knew. Great way to include your family in your music.
Canada here: this song was on the radio for years.
this song was HUGE, everyone sang along, stutter and all
Yep, it was on the radio all the damn time, and you might expect it to get old with the repetition and the stuttering, but the weird thing is I never got tired of it. It remains a banger to this day.
yeah, I remember this song being in high rotation and we also sang along, stutter and everything
Wh-wh-what do-do-do ya mean?
#1 one Billboard Hot 100 hit back in 1974 - everyone I knew had a couple of BTO albums in the milk crate collection or on their shelf made of stolen cinder blocks
LOVE BTO BIG BACK IN THE 70S USED TO DANCE TO THERE MUSIC ALL NIGHT LONG LOVED IT SO MUCH.
Takin’ Care of Business is a BTO classic and a must listen. C’mon boys, cue it up!
Yup I argue
Have they not done that one yet? For some reason I thought they did it already. But yeah, if they haven't done that song yet, that's the ultimate BTO song. They need to knock it out soon.
@@bsanderfer They haven’t done that one yet. But it’s a must.
Maybe it's because I've heard it about a thousand times too many and A&A have probably already heard it somewhere by now,
but I'd vote for another BTO tune. My suggestion would be something from their first album, preferably
Gimme Your Money Please or Blue Collar.
If you have ever been to a Professional Hockey Game you have heard Taking Care Of Business.
Must have listened to this song a zillion times and never get tired of it .. God I LOVE this group !!!!! BTO, hard-rocking Canadian boys !!! Mr Randy Bachman we salute you.... Die-hard Canadian fan.....
He's imitating his brother in this song
BTO - Takin' Care of Business, Hey You, Roll On Down the Highway
The Guess Who - No Sugar Tonight//New Mother Nature, No Time, These Eyes, Rain Dance
Maybe Share The Land also by the Guess Who
"These Eyes" is sublime!
Thanks. I couldn't remember if it was his brother or cousin. BTO also didn't think this tune would be a hit.
Takin' Care Of Business is my 2nd go to song for driving too fast! LOL!
Not Fragile
This song's sound is so iconic, so mid-70's amazing. It's a time travelling song, it takes you back there so easily.
BTO - Takin' Care of Business (the song, not merely a statement about the band)!
Simply their most popular song ever. More bar bands have played this song than any of the others you have played by them. It gets played on classic rock radio at least once a week.
+1
@@shyshift " Take good care , of my business. When I'm away, everyday!" ... ;)
The year was 1978 when that song was chosen by our high school's dance team to perform in the gym for the pep rallies on Fridays when the football team was playing at home. Picture a gym full of raging teenage hormones watching the hottest girls we knew dancing to this song. To this day that's all I can think about when I hear that song.
Baking carrot biscuits, every day...
Upbeat, fun, energizing song, from beginning to end. No dead spots. Every musician blended well. Never get tired of this song. For me, it's been an A+ song from the very beginning, in 1974. A masterpiece.
This song was thrown together as a spoof of Randy’s brother who stuttered and wasn’t intended to go on the album.
Turns out to one of their biggest hits.
A total classic. That locomotive drum beat, the guitars, the lead vocal with the stuttering is all phenomenal.
I think he is timid because SHE is telling him he ain't seen nothin' yet. The lyrics later say "I know I ain't seen nothin' yet". A rock star who doesn't think he's a lady's man is a cool twist.
Right. Second person. Being told he ain't seen nothin'....
Exactly. I take it as an inexperienced kid/young man getting his world rocked by an experienced woman. She took him to school and shook his butt up. "Boy, you ain't seen nothing yet. I'm going to educate you."
But is she stuttering whilst telling him 'You ain't seen nothing yet'? Or is he stuttering whilst relaying what she said to him?
@@rdyork41 I'd think the second one, it's him that's the nervous one, she's the super confident one teasing him and he's relating her conversation to someone else.
@@rdyork41 he's stuttering. He's talking in 1st person " I ain't seen nothing yet ... " She told me I need educatin'" "she took me to her doctor ..." "I took what I could get" etc. He's all worked up talking about her.
The lady is confident. She's the one saying "you ain't seen nothing yet". He really got lucky😁
Taking Care of Business is a banger!!!!
Randy Bachman is a Canadian treasure and one of his great qualities is that he and BTO never took themselves too seriously. They were providing the world with simple 3 or 4 chord rock and roll and they had some great hooks along with some humorous lyrics. They described their career best in 'Takin' Care of Business' in which they say, "Get a second-hand guitar, chances are you'll go far if you get in with the right bunch of fellas" Saw them live back in the 70s. Fun show but really, just went out there and played rock and roll. Loved it.
"Taking Care of Business!!!" Their biggest hit...for a reason.
Oh my! Hitting 60 in January and this makes me feel like a teenager again..... absolutely phenomenal!!! 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Next up: Guess Who "No Time". Big hit, and justifiably so.
From Guess Who please please Shakin' All Over.
🇨🇦 lovin it from Toronto Canada...another great band ....from the North!
So many to check out from The Guess Who! Try...New Mother Nature / No Sugar Tonight next. ✌️
Radio staple back in the day. My girlfriend and I would sing to the chorus to this song endlessly!
“Taking Care of Business” next BTO reaction.
Randy Bachman sang that song. Play “Blue Collar”. Not a radio song but it is Great song.
Yeah! Killer song that will surprise A&A. Or almost anything off that first album.
GREAT suggestion, Bob K. That is a tasty song.
Blue Collar is, as you guys say “very tasty with a lot of sauce”. Great next selection to get a better view of Randy’s talents.
One of my favorites!
FYI - Mr. Bachman has a National Radio Broadcast in Canada on CBC Radio every Saturday night. Tells stories, plays old tunes and discusses them in detail with a great depth of first hand knowledge.
Yes! “Vinyl Tap” is SUCH an entertaining show. Bachman is such a great storyteller and yeah, I think Andy and Alex would find his understanding of music fascinating, as well as his anecdotes about some of the rock and roll greats he’s known and worked with AND learned from.
@@margaretanscombe730 Great name for a radio program!!
Is it put out as a podcast? I would love to hear this.
@@spritelass6712 if you looked on CBC.ca I’m sure they archive the episodes in some fashion. It’s a great show
@@spritelass6712 I just checked and yes, some of the shows are available as podcasts. If you google “cbc vinyl tap podcast”, you’ll easily locate them. Right now, they’ve got 1 hour episodes available from the end of Oct /20 to last weekend. Have fun- and don’t be surprised if you get as hooked on them as so many of us have! ☺️🎶🎵
The only show I got back stage!!!! I went to High School with a girl with the last name Bachman and BTO was in town for a show and she be like " Hey, you want to go to the show for free and meet the band?" She was a cousin and I had a great time!!!!!
You gotta dig into his other gig: The Guess Who...lol. Randy and Burton are proud Canadian boys who really know how to rock.
They have done a few Guess Who. That's what lead to BTO.
I was supposed to see Randy & Burton in concert in Montreal last summer - obviously cancelled and rescheduled for next summer. I doubt that will happen either. At least I've seen Burton Cummings in concert a while ago - excellent BTW.
@John Barber My home town!
@John Barber I’ve never been to Anchorage, but my girlfriend used to live there, and I recall her mentioning that bar.
For more BTO, I'm gonna recommend Roll On Down the Highway & Blue Collar.
Ok, this is wild. I heard this on the radio LAST NIGHT, and thought, "man, Andy & Alex need to do this." Great choice, gents! This is a hell of a track, imo. Great radio banger,, to crank up while driving, or while getting ready to go somewhere. Really fun song to sing along with. . Totally agree with Andy'assessment - feels like an A, but when you're done you think, "that might even be A+." They drop you in the sauce before you even realize it. Takin Care of Businesses next for BTO! Really cool that Randy Bachman shouted yall out, too.
Takin' Care of Business for sure!
Buy a lottery ticket _now_ lol!
Randy seems like a great guy, very down to earth. Have watched a bunch of interviews with him here on RUclips.
Dudes: Headeast "Never been any reason" you're gonna hate yourself for waiting so long...
Love that track! Especially when the music is pulled back.
A standard from my youth... classic fun BTO!
Roll Down The Highway!! Fred Turner's vocals are Awesome!!! A real 70's banger
Takin’ Care of Business is the other big BTO hit, and it’s also a fun banger. Worth checking out!
I'm a 61 year old who grew up in the 60's & 70's and enjoyed some of the best music ever. Since covid made me stay home, I stumbled upon music reactions and became hooked on them. Of all of them I've watched you guys have become my favorites. I love the classic rock and hard rock of that era but I think you guys may be oblivious to the best voice of all time in my opinion. On the men's side there are good singers, great singers and there's Freddy Mercury. On the womens side there are good singers, great singers and there's Karen Carpenter. She won't blow you away with power or soaring high notes but there's something about her voice that goes threw your ears and into your soul. She is the only voice that can give me goose bumps, make the hair on my arms stand up and bring tears to my eyes knowing her back story. If your not familiar with her I would urge you to check her out but be careful or you may be sucked down that rabbit hole. I would describe their music as elegant pop.
My own favorite Bachman penned song is Undun, with the Guess Who.
A favorite. Undun.
Love Bachman's guitar work on "Undun", also similar jazz vibes on "Wednesday In Your Garden".
@@michaellaporte4951 Jazzy guitar? How about BTO’s “Looking Out For #1”?
Undun my favorite too.
@@trespatines8698 Or Blue Collar.
One of the first songs I can remember hearing on the radio, mid-Seventies... 10 years old...
Taking Care of Business next please!!!
One of the greatest songs ever
Not Fragile had one of the coolest album covers! The next one has to be “Roll on Down the Highway”
It’ll rock your socks off!
LET IT ROLL!! 🇨🇦
Not Fragile was a play on Yes Fragile
Roll on down the Highway is a cherished part of my road trip mix.
the song "Not Fragile" is a rocker also. A little heavier of their songs.
YES! Roll On Down The Highway is so awesome!!
OMG BTO ACTUALLY POSTED U ..That's SO AWESOME! That song was so big and we (rockers) all loved it.
older one, “Blue Collar” my dudes. this album ruled!
Must agree! Love the fusion of rock and jazz, BTO'S best, imo.
Blue Collar is bad ass!
I adore ‘Blue Collar’, it pops up on my damn-I’m-working-late-again playlist once a week, but it’s SO different.
The Rock fans heads will explode if A&A do ‘Blue Collar’ before so many other bands. Or even if they do it before ‘Not Fragile’ or ‘Sledgehammer’
But I’m with you Scott.
- ... I’d like you to know I need the quiet hours to create in this world of mine...
This, and "Undun" from Guess Who.
Ditto. Great tune!
2 Words "Band Maid" best rock band out there hands down. Pure Rock.
For more stuttering in the song's title: "My Sharona" by The Knack" "Bennie & the Jets" by Elton John, "Changes" by David Bowie, "Bad to the Bone" by George Thoroughgood, "Sussudio" by Phil Collins 🤘⚡🔥 BTW Andy, you need to change your title from "College Student" to "College Graduate's " first time reaction😉. As for what's next by BTO: "Taking Care of Business": for The Guess Who: "No Sugar Tonight/The New Mother Nature".
My Generation by the Who.
@@ronalddobis6782 I was just about to add that too!
Next BTO track is maybe my favorite of theirs, called "Blue Collar". It reminds me of being a teenager doing my paper route on my bicycle at 4:30 in the morning when the whole world was asleep but me. It also has one of my favorite guitar solos ever at the end. That's saying a lot for an old rocker who grew up in the 70's.
A close second would be "Lookin' Out for No. 1". You can't lose with either one. Keep it up, guys. I'm really diggin' your channel.
"THESE EYES" from Guess Who.
Another favorite!
Try some April Wine and there song .. I LIKE TO ROCK ,, From late 1979 ,, Huge banger , YOUL DIG IT ,,
That’s great you guys got a shout out!
Haven’t heard this in forever!
BTO was such a great groove for driving in the 70s! "Takin' Care of Business" or "Roll on Down the Highway" would be great for next time.
She rocked his world so hard that it caused him to stutter!
This! He's telling us about how badly she destroyed him and it broke him so much that he's still not able to get past the excitement of the memory.
Actually, Randy was taking the stutter from one of his brothers who had a stutter.
@@ToddSauve we know. But the guy in the story is the timed one, having met a "devil woman" who is getting him medical attention, fulfilling pleasure, and then looking at him with big brown eyes and saying "you ain't seen nothing yet" ...while he's nervous about it all, yet telling to himself "any love is good love" so he submitting
Its the temptation of man through providence - the correcting of flaws, supplying of pleasure, and then corruption with the promise of even better that he cant even imagine
"These Eyes" is one of my faves by the Guess Who. Most of the BTO catalog is good. Another band from the early 70's that you haven't touched yet is Three Dog Night. They were huge! Lot of good stuff back then.
I loved Looking out for #1, sounds more Latin than rock but such awesome guitar play
My fave of the Guess Who...is Undun.....good stuff. And Three Dog Night was a fabulous band. Eli's Coming...my fave of theirs. Gobs of hits.
So cool that MR. RANDY BACHMAN reached out to ya. BTO was a big part of my early teens in the mid 70's. (that's the only hint of my age your gonna get😉 ha ha!) 🇨🇦👏
Almost 49 here. BTO was still kicking for me too back a few moon's 😉
I saw BTO in concert at a small venue in Killeen Texas. Great band.
Great song, great review. I'm 66yrs old. Love the music you guys play and review. 50's, 60's, 70's the music of My youth.
Thanks. Keep up the outstanding work.
My favorite BTO banger is Taking Care Of Business on which they let the pizza delivery guy play keyboard!
They did it because they were afraid he would do nasty stuff to the next delivery if they didn't. It was a case of the guys in the studio playing it back for them with the piano. They had to scramble to find the pizza delivery guy and get him under contract.
Maruad, have you seen this video about that?
ruclips.net/video/VQYzFlAVOLY/видео.html
Took my younger brother to his first concert here in Vancouver when he was 13 or so - I would'a been about 19. It was BTO. He had been playing guitar for a couple years and was jamming these songs including BTO songs with a neigbour kid in the same apartment complex we lived in. Later on in life that kid became an actor who ended up playing guitar and introducing some kids to some Chuck Berry licks in that Back to the Future movie. Good memories I had about my brother who sadly died in a car crash several years ago. A tad melancholy whenever I listen to BTO now. Love your vids - keep it up.
"She said, 'You ain't seen nothing yet.'"
I took it to mean that what and how she said it made him nervous whether or not he could handle what was coming next.
yeah - i think they missed that in the lyrics - meh - it happens ------ (all the time with these two) =P
I used to LOVE this jam! Can't believe how long it had been since hearing it!? Thanks guys! 🔥🤘
In 1975, I was riding as a passenger in my husbands old 65' Chevy pickup. The hubby was driving, radio blasting rock music. My one year old son, Tim, was sitting on my lap(no seatbelt or child car seat laws), and this song came on the radio. My baby son was talking a little bit but that day, he surprised the hell out of us by blaring out, "I MET A DEVIL WOMAN! SHE TOOK MY HEART AWAY!" He proceeded to sing the whole song all the way through! And that, more than anything, is why I love this song. It brings back a very special memory for me.😁
Great Story, thanks for sharing.
@@mrnobody3161 Thanks. I love telling stories.
Unbelievable that your 1 year old sang these lyrics!!!
He must be a genius!!! Great story😂😂😂 loved it!!!
My buddy and I had front row seats once in early 80’s. They had towers of speakers on each side of the stage. After the encore we reached up and shook hands with the band. I swear I could barely hear from either ear for about 2 weeks!!
Great song from BTO! My favorite Randy Bachman composition is the song Undun by The Guess Who. It’s a masterpiece! Time to get back around to The Guess Who! 😊🎧
They'd love Undun - good pick Allison!
@@susanklasinski1805Everything about it is so good - the jazz elements, the chord changes, Burton Cummings’ stellar vocals. There are plenty of other great songs by The Guess Who but this one always stands out to me. 😊
@@allisonreed7682 Yes! What I really love are the jazz elements of the song.
One of my favourite bands growing up. Love you guys.
This is one of those songs that was played so heavily on the radio that you just completely forgot who sang it. Another classic '70s riff. Congrats on the shout out from Mr Bachman. Do you even realize!?? Touched by Rock royalty!!
Undone, from Bachman's and Turner's former band Guess Who. It is soooo under appreciated until you hear it and remember how great it is. That song is in my current rotation and I know it hasn't been on Philly airplay in 30-40 years. Another " BANGER!" is Shakin All Over. That song alone has been covered by the Guess Who as well as the Who, the Queen of Bockabilly Wanda Jackson and Bowie among others. At 55 years old I dig stuff from 50's and on up as well as Classical, Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Rockabilly and so much more. And working around the younger crowd that actually like the old stuff gives me hope for music in general.
Never can go wrong with a little BTO! I would recommend Taking Care Of Business for you guys to do next...always loved to belt that one out when it came on the radio. I think it’s my favorite BTO, but honestly, it’s like choosing your favorite child.
Finally, another great song from my time in the '70s. BTO was great and I still listen to them now that I'm in my mid-'60s. Great job Alex and Andy.
This was so popular that we welcomed it everytime it was "overplayed" on the radio!
I’m pretty sure “Takin’ Care of Business” is their biggest song, surprised that didn’t get the most votes.🤔
Bachman Turner Overdrive-" Blue Collar"
excellent deep track from the band.
Andy...when you hit the right notes, wrong, it sounds so cool. Alex..that’s jazz. Love the banter guys!
This is a staple on Canadian FM radio
We listen to this while eating our oatmeal and watching the hockey
@RBR I thought my family were the only ones
'Roll On Down the Highway' is another banger among many more from this band
The BTO song "Hey You" is definitely worth a listen!
“Gimmee Your Money Please,” “ Hold Back the Water,” “Little Gandy Dancer,” “Blue Collar,” & “Thank You for the Feeling “ are all good ones from their debut album.
For some reason, we never really got tired of this song even though it got a huge amount of play. They have another super-fun banger called "Taking Care of Business" that is also very quotable but without a stutter.
I thank y'all for this one.
Banger after Banger this week...... You guys are rolling and we love it.... Thank you for your reactions guys
This BTO hit got really heavy rotation on the radio stations. Definitely a big part of my teen life.👍
Not Fragile, Rock is My Life This is My Song, Sledgehammer.
I know, they keep playing the stupid Top 40 hits. The ones you list here are the real sauce!
Yeah, the edgy ones.
I agree, Taking Care of Business. A fun jam, and back in the day one of the first songs learned by every high school garage band.
Takin' Care of Business - Every cover band knows this song.
Yes my favorite to dance to at the local bar band night, I used to hit the “chicks trying to look pretty” with my own drunk perfected choreography that was genius LMAO
I think back about Andy sitting in his bedroom by himself reviewing classic rock....and where you are now with Alex and musicians reaching out to you guys. Amazing! You must be proud. Good job as always
Takin' Care of Business should be next. That "Not Fragile" album is awesome. Randy Bachman was also in The Guess Who.
The lead guitar break...echoing between channels! Beauty.
Let it Ride, Takin' Care of Business, Roll on Down the Highway, Hey You.
Got pulled over for speeding last Wednesday. 86 in a 60. “Roll On Down the Highway” was playing. I know better.
Your song choices are like a time machine to me. This took me back to a buddies garage in Santa Fe where we were playing ping ping while blasting this on a boom box.

Classic track.Great band,so many great songs.Always loved the bass run Turner puts in after'Any love is good lovin'.Gives me chills every time.👍
A 1970s classic. This is what made the album a hit, by being a monster radio hit. Ironically, the song was written AFTER the Not Fragile album had already been finished. The label felt the LP needed a single that could herald its release. They got it.
"that's jazz"...Man I love you guys.
ooooh, yeah, The Guess Who - some of my faves: Undun, No Time, Hand Me Down World.... I think you guys already did No Sugar Tonight, right? So .. yeah. I'm fond of Star Baby, too, which is a little bit more of a deep cut (at least in the US).

So glad y’all are doing the great Classics. Thanks!
Randy explains in a great Vinyl Tap show he hosts that the origin of this song is that stuttering within the song was a loving joke to his brother who stutters. The track was only intended to be sent to his brother and never released. It was a throw away track used only in production to calibrate the mic’s and levels before they starting recording the planned album. It was Randy singing.
