  • This is the first of a series of videos documenting my motorcycle rides on rural and minor roads in central Kentucky. This ride begins at the intersection of Ky highways 231 and 1375. I travel East on 1375 past Bethlehem Academy, a historical property listed in the Kentucky Historical Society records with marker 1740. This property was used by the Sisters of Loretto as a boarding school for girls in 1831. It had facilities for 75 boarding and 25 day students. It was closed in 1959, restored in 1981, and now it seems permanently closed and in a sad state of disrepair. For a while the property had a restaurant and I believe a Bed and Breakfast. Kat and I had lunch a few times there. The rest of the ride continues on 1375 East under very overcast skies and light drizzle.
