I think one reason that pattern is so hard to read is that the symbols are all the same intensity. They need to have some that are bold, some with lighter lines, some small symbols, some larger symbols.
Yes! Agreed! Also it would help, especially with dimensions kits, if they change backstitch symbols. It often covers other symbols and it makes it so uncomfortable
When using a paper chart, make a working copy and then use a yellow highlighter to mark the symbols you want to stitch and mark them with pink (say) once you’ve stitched them. That way you can clearly see where you’re going with a particular symbol and what you’ve stitched already. It’s the same process used in a digital form, only on paper.
Thank you for the tip! It’s just I never marked my paper patterns before because so easy to read no matter how difficult the project was, this is a new experience for me 😀
How many times did I watch this video?……Yes. 😂❤ idk why girl you are the most peaceful person. I love your projects and your voice. I watched twice 😅🥰. So excited to see these finishes!!!
So many amazing projects! ♥️ Your dimensions kits have turned out so pretty but I know exactly what you mean, I bought one once and it’s SO difficult to follow!!
Hi Katie - thoroughly enjoying your Flosstube! Thank you for the effort and excitement that you put forth each week to share with us. Excellent point about taste changing over time. This is so true - it makes me question my purchases a little more! Plus, I always think I can complete projects faster than is realistic! 😂 Hence, very large stash! So much stitching, so little time! 🤷🏻♀ I think your idea for framing the two oval Dimension pieces similarly and hanging them as complimentary pieces is a fabulous idea. Go for it! I loved the idea when you first mentioned it and still love it. ❤ Happy Stitching 🧵🪡 Jacque 🐑
I just love your videos. Agree that Dimensions isn’t always straight forward but the results are very impressive. I love the work you have shown. Thank you so much for sharing.❤😊
Very fun video, I enjoy seeing your projects. The Dimensions kit with the cat in the doorway is so beautiful!! I love the oval shape and you are nearly finished! Go for it!!😊 See you next time for haul viewing 😃
I just love your videos and really look forward to them each week! You know, when I decide to not finish a project (for whatever reason), I never consider it a waste because at the least it entertained me for the length of time I worked on it. But it sounds like you have good goals in place for finishing.
Love your videos. When I have a pattern like that Luca s with the black and white, I use two colored pencils. I use a lighter colored pencil like yellow to highlight the symbol I want to work on.( Only doing a small amount at a time). Then once I stitch those stitches, I color over with say a blue colored pencil. Then it shows up as green and I know those are done.
Katie, that Luca-S pattern is the most insane thing I've ever seen. That backstitch is IMPOSSIBLE to understand!! Why would they do it that way? 🙄 Loved seeing your projects!
That’s what I want to know!!! 😂 When I opened it I was like WHY? lol and then they put backstitch on pattern too and they did it in white lol I wish designers would be more involved in cross stitch community and hear us 😀 I’m scared to get more Luca-s kits because I didn’t want to deal with this type of patterns 😀
If I have patterns that are too small, I take a digital photo of one grid I am working on at a time. Then I can upload it to my laptop, or just on my phone and zoom in. That seems to help me. Just make sure you get a nice clear picture of the one square you are working on. Easy and fast and free. Maybe that helps. Idk... ❤
Love your stitching projects. I agree dimensions charts can be more challenging. That however never stops me from.stitching them. I enjoy a challenge and the outcome of the final product never dissappoints me.
Son todos unos proyectos muy hermosos. El de Dimensión es una belleza. Las peonías quedan perfectas sobre la tela negra. Ánimo con el de riolis y las lanas acrílicas. Un saludo
I love your determination and goal setting. Very inspiring! I will not get bored of seeing your progress on these projects!! Now I'm off to go browse mybobbin, lol. Blessings!!
Hi Katie! Would you consider giving us a little tour of your notion set up? I bought "the stitchery" template, but have not really customized it and would love to get ideas. 💛💛💛
I too have the stitchery template and love it so much. Always looking for other stitchers that also use notion to make improvements or modifications to my notion. Id love to see your notion setup too Katie. Keep up the good work on your goals and wips
Hi! Yes I will, I made it totally custom from scratch, I have couple pages that I still working on on my notion as soon as it done I’ll make a video about my notion set up :)
Love your projects Katie and I also try to finish some of my projects this year in fear of loosing interest if I keep them too long. But currently I am starting 24 new projects for 2024 for to celebrate my retirement, so I don't know if I will make my goals. I only stitch with paper patterns. I am stitching the crosstitch girls by Luca S and I take a scharp coloring pencil and mark the symbols that are not clear before I start stitching a part of the pattern. So some have their own color, the symbols that are nog clear to me.
You have some beautiful projects I would have never thought of the changes that you was talking about. I have sewed for years and have always went straight from the pattern but now I think I would like to try something thing different on some
Hi Katie, your videos are really something special. I enjoy how in depth you are with the projects. Like you, I sometimes struggle with seeing the Dimension patterns well. Do you use highlighters on your paper patterns? I have started doing that and it helps me tremendously. On the really difficult ones I often use multiple colors to keep me focused. I recently started Rocky Point and I was excited that it is an easier to read Dimensions. We know that’s rare 😂. Keep stitching and sharing!❤
Hi! I usually use cross stitch saga app for most of my patterns dimensions or not 😀 I don’t like to mark patterns/ copy because it takes a lot of time and it distracts me more 😀 so if I do stitch with paper pattern I want it to be big, many pages and easy to read with a need for marking 😅
Beautiful projects. I think you can reach your goals! Are you not making a working copy and colouring the symbols by paper patterns? (Otherwise it's so difficult). Happy stitching!
Hi! I usually use saga app I really don’t like coloring my pattern/ copy because I feel like it takes a lot of time 😀 so I like patterns that I can just read easily without a need to mark it 😅😅😅
@@RedsStitchery I never saw a paper pattern that was so easy to read. That I didn't have to colouring it😂. But maybe I found only the bad one. And I'm not a fan of a lot of blockstitching. So that explain a lot, that my patterns are difficult.
I love LucsS patterns when they are complete but I’ve also talked about the pattern. It’s crazy the way you can’t even tell what the picture is from looking at the pattern. I suppose it works ok for people who stitch line by line and just do whatever thread color comes next. That’s crazy to me but some people do that. Anyhow, I’ve been trying to figure out how to purchase the Saga app. Is it iPad compatible? Also, I have a complicated pattern or 2 (or 50) that I’d like to get a pdf version of. I can’t seem to find a means to do that just using Google. What am I missing? Thank you. I love watching your progress. You work on a nice variety of things. Pam
I don't understand why you would leave a negative review for a challenging design. It's very clear and easy to see the patterns, it's just confetti stitching and no, it's not for beginners. It's not the designer's fault that you weren't ready for it. It's akin to criticizing Tchaikovsky for making his pieces too hard for a beginner music student.
I actually went to add review some time after I wrote it. Also I’m not a beginner anymore and I still find their pattern hard to read, I stitch with lots of different brands and there is a way even for confetti stitches to make easy to read. It’s not about how difficult the pattern it’s about how hard to read it. But yes dimensions it’s not for beginners)

I absolutely love your fabric for the santa!
It’s a fun one! I can’t wait to see how it’s all going to look like together when it’s finished
Love Night Park by Riolis - the colors are so pretty! I hope you finish it.
If everything will go according to plan it should be my main project of this fall and I think I should be able to finish it 🤞🏻
How many times did I watch this video?……Yes. 😂❤ idk why girl you are the most peaceful person. I love your projects and your voice. I watched twice 😅🥰. So excited to see these finishes!!!

Hi, thank you so much! Oh yes I’m the same way I think I can finish everything in like a month lol in reality it takes years 😂
I just love your videos. Agree that Dimensions isn’t always straight forward but the results are very impressive. I love the work you have shown. Thank you so much for sharing.❤😊

That’s a great idea! But I’m lazy and don’t want to do any extra work lol 😀 so that’s why I spend my money and ordered digital pattern 🙈😅
I stitched that Lavender and Lace Summer Angel about 25 years ago and it took me 5 years to finish it 😮💨. I enjoyed hearing your goals!
I feel like I’ll be the same 😀 it’s already been 2 years so I have 3 to go 😀

I have had really good luck with Luca-s. In the past I have emailed their customer service and they have provided a pdf for me.
That’s awesome!

Same! Every time I tell myself it the last one but then I purchase and start more 😀
Love your plans! You can definitely reach your goals. Looking forward to seeing your progress!❤❤

I’m new to changing little things, it’s not always working for me but I like how I gain experience and knowledge with it ☺️
I love your projects they are really beautiful 😃
Thank you ☺️
Would you mind going into more detail on the app you use to stitch and also your Notion set up? 😊
Yes! Coming soon I’m currently looking more into it so I can give as much info as I can :)
Gorgeous projects! -C
Thank you ☺️

I’m planning on filming a video dedicated to saga! I just need to collect all the info :)
Great flosstube! Who is the designer of the Peonies? So beautiful.
It’s MP Studia - Royal Peonies :)
What is a notion?
Notion is a planning app that you can use for any type of planning :) I did a page for cross stitching :)
Poorly designed patterns are no fun! I am very careful in what patterns I buy now.... because stitching should be fun ! But stressful.
I learn how to stitch it, but I can’t do it for long time period 😀
