That's why I always do two or three paintings at once when I'm using watercolors! While I'm waiting for one picture to dry, I can keep working on the other.
I've seen beginners draw flowers and painting them with watercolor and something that they always do is painting the petals in order and for obvious reasons it will bleed because the petals are together and they won't let it dry, what I do is that I paint a petal, skip one, paint the next, wait for it to dry, continue.
I like how you’re straight forward with your tips. You get straight to the point, you speak understandably, but not slowly. That makes me understand the tip better, doesn’t make me bored, or feel as if the video is really long.
Really good points Sometimes I add too much water Also when i draw branches with brush, my brush’s always very dry. But when I take my time and do it slowly and carefully it gets even more better.
I think it very useful and I have made many mistakes when drawing watercolors without understanding them. Thank you. Sorry because my english is very bad
I would like to give a tip to those who are beginning :). Always have 2 cups or jars of water, 1 cup as the dirty water and the 2nd the clean water. You should always do this because then it will become a bad habit of using the same dirty cup and having some of the old color on your new color that you don't want :)
I'm still a newbie and I've experienced all that have been said in the vid. one more important info is to use appropriate paper when doing watercolor. another one is always prepare a tissue cause watercolor can dry up quickly so when you did have a mistake you can use the tissue immediately to remove certain stains or mistake while still wet. another tip if you think the watercolor paint on your brush is too much for the part you chose to paint you can dip the tip of the brush in a tissue but not too long.
My art teacher taught us a trick to not get the water color in spots you don’t want. She said to put crayon on the outline or something then paint. The wax doesn’t mix with the paint, so it’s a pretty cool trick!
Thanks so much for this video! can I ask you something ? i've been using watercolor lately but it keeps doing rings(/aureoles) and even if i blend it it stays horrible, how can i avoid doing rings ?
It is hard to say without seeing the rings, are they white? That might be drops of water creating them. Is it a solid area or an area with lights and darks?
I just saw it, love Simba;) that can happen from water dripping on the paper, or from having too much paint on your brush when you paint in the area where they are forming. You can paint upright, on an easel (tape your paper to a drawing board) and that will help your paint not accumulate in one spot, and instead move down the paper, as long as you don't let it drip, this should solve the problem. Also some of the other areas look like the paint was too dry when you tried to go from light to dark, and it created stripes. Let me know if that helps!
If your paint brush drips colour, if the mistake is irreparable, sometimes I just flick the tip of my paintbrush so the spots look intentional rather than accidental. Only works for certain art pieces and would seem strange on others, though.
Thanks a lot ......It helps me too much because everytime whenever I do painting with water colours I have these problems..... Again Thanks a lot ....😊😊
I have too much problem with all of these . Whenever I start my painting then one of these problems occur. But, this helped me alot. (Trying to get better in painting like pencil art )
Thanks a lot for your videos! They are so simple and quick but at the same time so informative, I've been searching for something like this for a very long time 🙂
Exactly when you accidentally have a spill on your painting it actually makes me feel so bad ,then I try to change the color where it has spilled on consuming more time once again Thank you for the video ❤️👍👍👍
Tsym!! Im just a 11 years old artist drawing some stuff using colour pencils, but never/Not commonly by using Watercolour!! And i made my decision to use Watercolour and try,So i have to know how to avoid mistakes or how to do it neither,Today is my first day anyways :) i wish u guys and myself some good luck😉✨

1:28 this mistake can be controlled and I use this technique for creating seas lakes etc.(I use it because it makes a pattern which looks like real water)
Thank you so much for putting up this video. Actually I am a beginner and did'nt realize that I did one or the other mistakes in my painting as mentioned in your video This rectifies all my problems....
oml tysm, i've been wondering what those small annoying pieces of stuff was and now i know i can just prevent them by letting the paper dry more,, thank you uwu
I don't really have much problems with bleeding, because I use waterdrops from the waterbrush. But you were right about brushing the paper thoroughly that it causes a hole in the paper. I can't control it because I'm impatient :(
I have just started painting watercolor flowers, and I don't know how to get rid of the dark outline the paint forms around the edges of the flowers. I have tried to blend them out with water on my brush, but find I'm not too successful. It doesn't happen as often with very pale colors, but or so with the dark. Liked your five tips.
I try to get that dark area and it is really hard to create. It usually means you have allot of water on your brush when you paint so it pools on the sides of what you are painting. If you don't like it, blot your brush off a little before you paint, Hope that helps!
I'm very impatient so my mistake is always painting when everything is still wet
Nina S a m e. I go over it too many times, I got used to acrylic, ahahahaha
That's why I always do two or three paintings at once when I'm using watercolors! While I'm waiting for one picture to dry, I can keep working on the other.
Same ! And too much water
same
Nina you could always use a hair dryer to dry off your painting before painting another layer
I like how you don’t waste any time and get straight to the point. Most RUclipsrs don’t do that and I appreciate it

That's actually a smart way to do it. Plus, saves time as no dabbing is needed.
Too much water is literally always my problem no matter what 😂😭😅👌
Sometimes I put less water and it looks like a watery acrylic
Put too much water,u mess up
Put less water u still mess up
Try to soak brush by using tissue or a rough piece of cloth so that it would be easy for you buddy 💜💜💜

any tips for those little bubbles that appear. is it a result of using to much water?
