Feel like I just took a college level overview course in brain training & how to focus better! Totally agree w/ your suggestions on how to prep your brain to engage in an activity you’re putting off or aren’t currently primed to do.
Thanks man! 🙏🏻 These are a labour of love as the view count is always much lower. But I really think you e just got to follow the passion, and the engagement is always great as a result 😁
@@TheBioneer that might be because the subject matter is less hands on. It's a bit like nutrition. It's simple in theory, but hard to make it fun. Please keep on doing these, I highly enjoy them ;)
Despite what people were telling you all your life, it also works for teeth. They will get stronger with use, chewing hard stuff and all. Most are taught that teeth are Basically dead and must be protected. Teeth are very much alive and will become stronger when used :)
That's why we should feed our brain with a good, meaningful information instead of something like p0rn that is basically a junk unhealthy food for brain
Hey Bioneer, just thought I'd leave this suggestion. Your 'video essays' (as I like to call them), are absolutely wonderful. 1 a week is a great output too because they are usually packed with info. I would suggest, in addition to your current format, releasing #shorts. Will help grow your channel considerably. You seem very skilled with editing so I could see you making really impressive shorts. Just a suggestion, not sure you'll read this comment, loved your books and want to see you get more deserved recognition.
One of the best coaches I ever worked with always talked about visualisation as a form of practicing movement, even blindfolded to force people to do it properly. Would be fascinating to set up a trial and test whether a group that visualised a task repeatedly carries it out with greater technique etc. I used it to practice free kicks, surprising how well it works.
Good luck with the exams! 💪🏻💪🏻 That last minute cram technique can work well, especially if you condense a lot of information into a short space. Just make sure not to overdo it either - remember you can also fatigue those pathways :-)
I love some of the other channels but can't stand the constant "Here's this cool new thing that I'm doing an hour long ad on..." "Sounds helpful! I'll check it out (looks up price) $5,000?" 😂
I love the final half of the "Functional Training" book, that details a lot of things to do with what is discussed here. Alas! As many times I re-read it, the amazin' info flies o'er my head like Concord and I can't get it all down. Ive a difficult time learning, understanding new things at times regardless of my genuine interest. So having some of it contextualized via a nice narration here will help. Genuine interesting stuff. I want to improve ability and confidence, especially with returning to work and dealing with everyday tasks there. Ive had a lot of anxiety and doubt in taking on tasks and general "getting stuff done" in work, so theres a lot here Id like to take in and take on board. 👏👍
100% agree the second half is hosted compared to the first half(don’t take it wrong both are good, but the second goes beyond and explores different mysteries and facets of the human brain, body and both combined)
I first heard of priming from MAP and yes I already did it intuitively because I liked doing it before training, but they really explained the concept behind it.
This is such an awesome video. The amount and quality of information you put into your videos is always really impressive. Not to mention, your video editing skills are top tier. Keep crushing!
Thank you so much man. I had never even thought of training the brain before I stumbled upon your channel. Now I do it everyday. (Human Benchmark helps a lot if you are willing to put in the work). These videos are awesome man and I'm glad that you've kept it up! Look forward to seeing the next one! :)
Awesome, this is something that I've been experimenting with myself for the past days, by first playing quad-n-back and then writing, and by my anecdotal evidence, I can say that it is working
I think I just had a Nerdgasm! I love these videos and super happy that brain fitness videos are still uploaded here! If Batman was dumb, it wouldn't matter how strong he is, he'd just be beaten and forgotten easily. Not sure why people forget that.
Please do more videos on brain training and cognitive performance, your channel helps a lot of us who are into fitness as well as learning(for school, job, hobbies, etc) .
Better ideas, Andrew Huberman etc etc Adam is truly a humble guy for never taking all the credits for himself but rather very openly admitting all his sources! 👌
Dude! I never thought about warming up the brain. I like to write lyrics but i haventvwritten anything in a long yimd because i get wtiters block. Warming up yhe brain might benefit me with that
Definitely! Try writing something else like a diary entry, or even a “bad” song you know you’ll trash. Just for 5 minutes. It should shorten the time it takes you to reach that point where it just flows :-) Let me know how you get on!
Self improvement in all areas ! Fantasitic to hear this and the enthusiasm to improve the brain and the body. I just need to stop procrastinating and start reading and have some down time from the internet and practice digital minimalism.
I do kovaak's aim trainer and I warmup with the voltaic call of duty/battlefield game specific routine (free if you google it) but I do it for 30 min instead of the 60 listed on it. I have a reaction speed on an average day of 154 ms because of this and I'm 36 years old. If you have no use for being that fast, you could do the routine for 20 min instead of 30 and it would still be a great brain warmup.
I think Adam should make a video regarding ADHD. I was diagnosed with it in 3rd grade and I would be interested to see how he would handle someone who was a natural cognitive deficit
Would you consider doing podcast-type things? I would love to hear more of what Noah Rolland has to say. That could also be a chance to dive deeper into specific topics with various experts.
I wonder if club & mace swinging promotes priming since a lot of those exercises have a higher chance of injuring the person (uncontrolled swing can result in a nasty head injury or toe injury). Every time I train with clubs, it feels more engaging since I can't focus on my muscles exclusively - I have to watch the club while also keeping track of my own form
Hi Adam. I was wondering if you'd ever looked into the effects of low carb/ketosis on cognition? I'm curious because recently tried reintroducing carbs after being low carb for a couple of years and to put it mildly the past couple of days have been rough 😅. my mental health has plummeted, I've been extremely irritable/mood swings etc.. and I'm struggling to concentrate and process information. I'm not sure how much if this can be put down to to the transition period though. It's something I'm very curious about, not least due to the fact that I'm (hopefully) starting college soon and want to be as productive as is humanly possible. Loved the vid as always. I know I'm echoing a lot of people when I say you are 100% my favourite RUclipsr.
Thanks for another great one, Adam. I do know (from experience) the HUGE benefit of priming (not only for 'tasks' but also for the way you engage in certain social activities etc). The main bottleneck for me is to actually not procrastinate... on the actual priming! So the main question for me is, how do I prime myself to start priming myself for a task? #inception
I wonder what kind of priming would help with axe throwing? I use music to varying degrees of success, this got me thinking about what I could use for a warm up, besides actually throwing the axe. Maybe darts?
Please reply if possible. Could you talk about how to increase knee size to potentially increase the amount of load able to be placed on the knees in terms of muscle growth. Ankles as well if possible to give the lower body a more fuller look

Crazy how the brain is so similar to the body in terms of keeping it healthy, using it, and strengthening it.
It absolutely is! There are so many parallels, but it should come as no surprise really!
