There's many stories about CO'S dying within 5 yrs post retirement. I'm glad you took the step to enjoy life. Take it slowly and don't rush into relationships.

Wow i was born in Massachusetts as well and still live here. I'm buying a house and a ton of apartment complexes in the Philippines in June. It's good to see a native doing well in the Philippines.

Great Interview with Doug, Mark. He should fit in just nicely there, got the right attitude. He was right about people who find themselves in Jail, it's all about not being able to control their emotions also resulting from bad attitudes towards anyone else, especially those seeming to do better than them. Bob. Veteran. NZ.

I'm in Thailand and I flew over and checked out Duma last year (Met you and Jen at the Valencia park), one noticeable difference between Duma (really the PI) and Thailand was how much more friendly the expats are there. I met guys everywhere (mostly Americans and Australia). Verse Thailand the Europeans tend to be less outgoing and friendly.

This guy's story is a real deal. I worked as a nurse for 2 yrs in the Dept of Correction, and that's what I observed about inmates' psychology.

I know it doesn't happen every day but I know a retired (after 28 years) c.o. from California. His best friend, also a c.o., was killed by an inmate in San Quentin. Still, their pay is well-deserved just for going to prison everyday.
