If you're comfortable to diy from a tutorial
You can build a LiFePO4 pack for less than agm
But I completely understand most people will be wary
Better to be safe than sorry at the end of the day

My 180W panel (inc. controller) was about £230 plus £80 shipping to Spain, and l just bought a new 120Ah battery for 95€.
It's been working fine for the last 4 years.
Yes she has spent a lot of money so fare totally over the top talk about up selling it’s a joke I’m doing the best I can to try and save her some money now 👍
Really mines come to £700 for everything solar panel, batteries, all the smart controller, monitors blah blah. If u can make it cheaper please give me some advice or websites please 🙏

Hi .I’ve got similar batteries to you after seeing your review it’s the alpha battery.the tabs on them are screw tabs do you know of extra tabs to join connectors on these.steve

Try cam straps. Ratchet straps can be over tighten easy enough could damage the batteries. Great advice on strapping down the batteries properly.

No Mel, you are not quite right. 2 x 130amp/hr batteries, mean you have got 130amps available has you should only take them down to 50% state of charge

I think lead carbon batteries and can go down to 70% discharge without damaging
284 quid for the ctek holy cow and its only 20A ?? You need to drive from London to Leeds everyday to put back what you used last night. LOL
Would be better to just use a bit of cable between the batteries with toggle switch and save £280
At the Start - I don't think I've EVER heard as many 'Tongue-twisters' all joined together in sequence like that before Mel .... How many TAKES did that TAKE to MAKE ?? ........... and then after saying you Won't - You Do ;-) ..... "I won't mention the Word Accident" - OOPS!! ............ hey mel the batteries are 120ah each so thats 230 all up BUT and i say BUT you dont want to go lower than 50% discharge battery life is degraded fast after even one 80% discharge , so I would never go down lower than 70% charge that would mean she has useable 75 or so amps , we have 8 x 140 ah and we still use 30% evey night ( cpap) and lights ect ect .

The volt meters on the usb ports around my van all show slightly different readings! No idea why 🤷🏻♂️
I always go by the VictronConnect app. It all seems ok with no obvious problems.

Wood burners make excellent projectiles too lol!,
but they are lovely, always makes me think with motorhomes they aren't very substantial build wise.
In your gas bottle filling ventures have you ever filled a bottle to the brim?, bought a safefill bottle dam things filled to the brim its not meant to.

Hi again Mel. I purchased the CTEK charger for my van and its doing a great job, thanks. Reconditioned and fully charged two flat batteries.
As I was looking at the wiring of my already converted van, I cant seem to find where it has been earthed to the chassis anywhere. There was a blue cable running from the negative of one battery that had been attached to the metal frame of the bed which had been bolted to the floor, but as I have now built a wooden pull out bed I had to cut it. So I am guessing this was the previous owners cowboy attempt at earthing? I am going to buy some new cable and just run it from the negative of one battery to the chassis, but I am unsure which cable/size to buy! does it have to be a special cable,? 16mm ? Copper? Bit confused.
I just went to my local electrical trade shop but they don't stock 12v and couldn't answer my question. Thanks again in anticipation of your reply :)

Votronic battery to battery chargers are very good I recommend them.
Is that victron ring dc to dc? Is this OK for vans with smart alternators and can solar be put through them as well?
