Thought this guy was on helium when the video started lol
I've had V-Moda XS' for almost 2 years, but recently bought a couple of pairs of the really cheap VE Monks and I have to say that I like the earbuds much better, they have more "roundiness" and the bass of the earbuds is a lot more enjoyable brings music to life, so I am looking for a similar sounding portable. I think these might be it, will try them on the store next week. Just a shame these don't fold though, with the XS' I can clip the headphones in their case to my belt loop and go about. Great review, keep it going!
Thanks for sharing, Israel!
hi mate just bought them online do u think they will be good for electric guitar amp playing ??
With techno, tech-house and also with EDM what do you tink about the ATH-M60x ?
Thanks for your review! How about Sivga sv021 vs M60x? Which is better?
Hey Steph! Great review once again. Are there any plans to review the new FiiO FH5 in-ears? I'm hearing very good things about them! Peace. 🤙
Thank you, Joshua!! Omg! I want to try them out so bad! I am planning to get my hands on them at some point, and when I do, I'll definitely get a review going. Standby!
MajorHiFi Headphone, HIFI & Amplifier Reviews Totally awesome! Standing by but I might have to pop in to Audio46 when they are in stock (I was told around 8 days or so). Peace! 🤙
Oh sickkkk!
Hey Steph! Great video as always. I like the ATH-M60X you reviewed they sound like a pair I may like. I need something that has good lows. My music taste varies from R&B, some Hip-Hop, Pop, and easy listening music. Mids and highs are needed since I have trouble with those frequencies. I'm curious on how much they cost?
Phantom Phreak they cost $199.
Thank you Mitchell for letting me know I will check them out. :)
How'd you find them for Electronica and tings like Dub/jazz fusion
I have m40x, do i need to buy m60x too? It's on 50% discount btw.
Where are they made ?
I received my M60X and my impressions is a quite mixed bag for the first glance... :S
I haven't done a long listening session, but the sound seems quite natural and "flat" comparing to the M40X. I would say it's less full and "fun".
I am gonna spend more time with these headphones and maybe it requires some "burn-in" but honestly... i don't think that will change the sound much.
I really love the sound quality of the M40X, but due to the comfort issues i wanted to give a try to this M60X. Now i am not quite sure...
The fit is very nice and comfortable indeed, but it's not too secure and leaks a lot of sound so isolation is pretty bad.
If you ask me i wouldn't recommend this as an alternative of the Sennheiser HD 25. It has worst isolation, less secure on your head also has less bass.
It do sound more clean and balanced, with a very wide soundstage (surprising in a on-ear) but somewhat i found it thin and less enjoyable to listen. Instruments and voices are there, but sound quite distant. Everything just seems less pronounced.
I'll give a few days to the headphones and will do an update if i found it any better. :)
Thanks for sharing your experience with us, Zoltan!
these vs the dt770
I just need the best sounding headphones under $200
Liked the review.
How do they sound with rock, metal, something heavier overall? Because I'm really interested in these cans.
Peter Susič +++
too much 1.2khz. very pokey. no breath.
John Smith advices? I need those mids... Thinking of srh840
check ws1100is on sale
No Thing If you need mids then go for senns 600/650 nothing does mids like sens in this price range, even far more expensive headphones can have trouble keeping up. I dont know If I would recommend them for rock though. If your going rock then check out the he400's or m1060's.
So just got mine and was listening to it for initial impressions. Lows, highs, Soundstage are great. I do have some issues with mids. They don't seem very natural particular upper mids crossing into treble. Idk if it's the 5-6k spike in really sensitive to but for example beyond the beautiful disaster by 311 the cymbals are a little shrill. Green light by lorde her voice again not very natural sounding (to me). Even tangled by maroon 5 vocals just seem a bit odd to me and for the most part I love the mastering every song from songs about Jane. I'll keep testing but I still like my takstar 82 for portable. Also the 82s are more flexible with how I can use them for different situations
Edit: beautiful disaster not beyond the grey sky.
I just got mine too... - I can't stand the pokey 1.2khz. Its a big hump, and it pushes the mids forward too much.
John Smith I usually like forward mids. Some badly mixed rock sounds muddy but these sound like borderline about to be tinny.
Totally agree. I put on an a symphonic metal song/album I really love the production on, and these headphones made it sound grating and harsh in the mids. I'm returning them tomorrow. Thumbs down.
John Smith same for me unfortunately. Give the Takstar pro 82 a try. $80, very neutral decent Soundstage, light, natural. Can even get a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter and plug and mpow Bluetooth adapter on it to make it wireless. Or vmoda boom mic for some traveling gaming headphones
I have so many headphones. About 15 pairs. Right now, my favs are Beyer DT1990's, B&O H6vii's, Senn 600/6xx's, and the AT M40x/M50x's (but the Shure SRH840's I have, have a way better tonal quality . Edit: but they are a little sharp around 8-9khz, so it kind of hampers them for me,)
interesting that they use the m50x drivers. Zeos HATED the m50x but basically jizzed on camera when he reviewed these things.
So which one is better these or m50x ?
This is a good question, one that is hard to say. They're both good at different things, so it really depends on the application of which you plan to use them. I would check out my colleague, Gabby's, comparison review so you can get a sense for how they fared to her side by side. majorhifi.com/audio-technica-ath-m50x-vs-ath-m60x-headphones-review/
dig the orange goblin shirt, thanks for the review!
eyyy! haha! So glad you spot that> yes!
Do a Solid Bass review by Audio Technica
right on! which one? I think there are a few solid bass models.
Hey... really love your content. do a review on Sennheiser HD700 :))
Hey Ashen! Thank you :) If I can get my hands on them I will put something together for ya!
Are these "neckable?"
Not super comfortably honestly. Since the earcups don't turn in, they don't sit flat on the neck, if that makes sense.
good job
When i first saw this young "Justin Bieber-type" guy as a reviewer was sceptic... But now i have to admit he really knows what's he is talking about. Well done! You won't a subscriber. :)
Hehe! Thanks Zoltan :) Thank you for the support!
Zoltan, are you stupid ... it's a girl
I wonder if these cans will become DJ favourites ...and era of Senheiser HD 25 will end....
I hear ya! I don't DJ, so I'm not totally sure. But the one reason I see these being not as idea for DJing is that the earcups don't swivel freely like so many DJ headphones.
MajorHiFi Headphone, HIFI & Amplifier Reviews The Vmoda M100 doesn't have swivel ear ups either, but still quite popular amongst djs by the way. :)
I use a M40x for djing and sound editing actually like it a lot. Nice separated instruments and amazing clarity. Unfortunately it's a bit uncomfortable to me.
I had a M50x as well, same case with the comfort, plus that sounded harsh occasionally so went for the M40x instead.
Anyways I will give a try to this new M60x and will see how it compares to the legendary Sennheiser HD25. :)
Mmm right on, Zoltan! Yes, please let us know what you think!
I also have m40x and m50x... mainly using for DJíng and casual listening. Recently start to find that m40x sounds more pleasant for me than m50x. But M40x are extremely uncomfortable. Will be looking for third party earpads. Both these cans are not ideal for Djíng for me as the cups are big and bulky, ears are swetaing... Now choosing between Senheiser HD25 and M60x...
Ahhh yes! That makes a lot of sense. I know folks rave about the HD25. I haven't tried them personally. Looking forward to see if other folks have an opinion on the M60x as a DJ can. Any DJs get a chance to listen so far?
Hi this is an honest, and we good faith, question, are you a guy or a gal? Great review btw man, or woman or idk really.
I'm a guy lol! Thanks for watchin, FOOL ! Glad you dug it.
just wondering are u a cat a pussy or a plain old bully ?
Why you have stupid background music to the video while you talk?
Forgot to turn it off after some intro? =P
