Couples and families are in a different world where that is not much of an concern. But uncoupled think of those things.
She is probably going to need to pay more taxes, unless she doesn't report all her income. Also, the condo has no property taxes, condo fees and insurance?
I think she said $300 maintenance. And the rest, Yes that was missed, taxes and insurance! And the food for $400, what kind of food is she eating?
@@mgalvez8219 eating out is expensive
@@mgalvez8219Maintenance is Condo fees and 300.00 is reasonable for a newer condo. Property tax is not part of Maintenance. Electricity may or may be included in the condo fees.
I pay $152 a month for a 2 bedroom twice that size!
You're probably not gonna be able to resell it.
Everything is 1 to 3 blocks away from my place.
Anything you could possibly want or need.
I don't have a balcony or an island though! Lol
Question is, where do you live? Because living in someplace like Jakarta is going to be cheaper than living in Toronto.
I live in Toronto! Lol
Why the F would you think I'd compare living expenses in Jakarta to living expenses in Toronto!? I compared my apartment to hers because I too live in Toronto! That's was the entire point! Lol
I am low key shocked that you have to make 100K to live like this. I am not getting a condo. It looks very discouraging even though she has organized her place so well , she is making the best of this. All power to her.
Yeah good for her but it's depressing that the smallest condos on the market are essentially unaffordable to many
Ive lived here in Canada for 21 years and my biggest Salary is 46K. I pay for car insurance $125+ gas so may be $100, hydro for $120, extra storage $170 $70 internet $190 two cellphones and rent of $1750 in a brand new Condo (not in Toronto) ive lived in Toronto for many years and I regret living there. Never again.
She bought this condo for an amount she could have had a mansion in USA. While she makes that much money a month its seems awfully wasted. I do wish her well but safety for a woman is first. I haven't used TTC or walk alone in the streets since I was 18. Im 35 now, engaged and I'm just thankful to be alive and surviving.
Canada has ruined all my motive to ever buy a property here, pay for 30 years just to enjoy it for 10 years and then downsize back at 70 years old.
No thanks, ill keep my humbling lifestyle.
I cook things from scatch and I workout for free at my building.
I hope Pierre will fix Canada 🇨🇦
Otherwise im out!!!
She brought during the covid boom when everything was crazy...that place now would sell for 399k. She is definitely underwater on this property and probably will be for a decade
Maybe forever as the Chinese leverage hundreds of properties apiece.
$2500 for pet sitting?! U go girl
She got ripped off. This condo will never appreciate in value
The Chinese would push home prices to infinity if they didn't run out of money first.
It's all about storage in these small spaces.
One thing I am curious about is how she got a down payment. On $55K, she would have qualified for $200K mortgage, meaning she had almost $300K down payment ready?
Insanity. I purchased a 3800sq/ft modern home with 1/2 acre of land in the interior of BC for less than this. I now rent that unit and have purchased 5 more homes because I'm not forcing myself to live in Toronto or Vancouver and be house poor. People need to realize there are opportunities outside of the these two cities. P.s. I work in high-tech and easily able to do my job remotely. Opportunity awaits.
It’s not bad. Fairly decent. Won’t pay 400k for this. The condo market is going down. Can’t wait for it to go back to earth for the prices.
This is the new normal/acceptable in Canada. Building 300-600 square ft dwellings in Western society.
Canada shouldn't require units to be a minimum of 650 sq.ft in order to be considered a long term rental apt.
- If your a short term or student rental then this small unit is acceptable.
If it works for you - why not!
I personally would rent a similar space vs. buying a shoe box like this which sees very little potential of appreciation.
Bro. You rent a small space for how long. What benefit. you r paying someone else's mortgage . After 25 years. She has a roof over her head that she does not not have to pay. It might not appreciate. But having the freedom of ur own home is something you cannot get anywhere else
@@CodeWithSloth Dude - you are wrong! I am a home owner but sometimes renting is better than buying!
@@CatherineSui-Miller explain. You must be saying rent for $700/month. And invest $3000/month into stocks.
But you’re throwing away your money every month and paying someone else’s investment instead of your own.
Honestly this would have been a good deal in Manhattan but for Toronto it should be around $300k tops. Downtown TO is nowhere near NYC. I find the outskirts of TO far more interesting. This coming from a resident of both cities. After hearing that she bought it in late 2021. This unit is probably $100k less today.
Condo prices are falling fast but the Bank of Canada is cutting short term interest rates and a 50 cent dollar should soon be the result with double digit inflation. Canada is the poster child for the entire world on how not to run a country.
A dog house in the backyard is very functional for a dog.
what she’s paying on a condo, which will rise in value, he’s paying for a car, which starts depreciating as he drives it off the lot. 🤣
oh! he notices! ha. hope he really did sell that car.
He should shouldn’t he!? 🤣👏
I guess you have not seen what is happening to Toronto condo prices lately. lol
How disassociated one must be to buy?
$3900 for car expenses is utterly INSANE.
Insane it’s a prison.
As an Ontario, DT is one of the worst area to reside unless you are making at least $250k steady per year.
If you make $130,000 a year living in the region of Ontario, Canada, you will be taxed $42,988. That means that your net pay will be $87,012 per year, or $7,251 per month. Your average tax rate is 33.1% and your marginal tax rate is 43.4%.
I live in community housing with my three children. Each child has their own bedroom and only pays $500 as a townhouse. 😂😂. I even purchased a house in another country 😂.
ridiculous!
Not hating her grind, but Asians east and west are trying to make Canada into HongKong and New Delhi.
What's the point of having over 100k, spending 99% of it.
This girl doesn't have a car ffs.
Also she didn't tell the fact that the government take $50,000 she forgot intentionally. Also all that other expenses that is $60,000 is spent in borrowed money credit card andshit.
very sad.
I recommend all of you planning to live in TO not to even think about it. You will feeze todeathTrying to survive. No jobs unless you are a profesisonal, say a doctor with big income and want to spend all your hard work earned dollars there.
Low quality of life, you will feel like you are in third world country, people are rude not nice. That's why probably she is leaving too.
Sounds like you just need to do better. YYZ does not have a low quality of life.
I never said there aren’t better opportunities down south but simply YYZ does not have low quality of life if you can sustain it. And if you think people aren’t nice here, you are in for a reckoning once you move to the US.
@@stolenfire1she has valid points - Toronto & Vancouver are sh*t cities. A person has to use all their income to pay for shoe box accommodations, then yes you have to deal with rude people from Toronto- gawd New Yorkers are more friendly and that’s saying a lot. Canada, Trudeau, inflation, crap standard of living, people need to run out of this country 🏃🏽♀️💨
@@stolenfire1 Low quality for what we pay for.
Get it?
Try living on $14,000 a year. Now, that's a miracle!! Most, well educated people, with a disability are forced to live on that amount through the ONTARIO govt. ODSP !!
The Ontario government thinks there’s no cost of living. Shame on them.
I was nice I never filed but could have. I didn't need the money.
8:20 is the income after tax? otherwise how could she save so much?
I live in Montréal in a big industrial loft 950 feets two floor, parking space outside. Paid 257 000 10 years ago
worth 500000 today. If she s working from home, what’s the point working in Toronto ?
Our buying power is absolutely pathetic these days. Our currency in Canada is so devalued it’s not even funny.
Pretty cool. I love TO! 😍😍
Right! So do we
If you add some galvanized steel…..
2500 for pet sitting overnight rate is $70 which come to 35 pets in month at the same time Anb
ya that doesnt make sense. Also $2000+ air bnb income,
Who wants to live across from their office? Chinese from Singapore or Hong Kong?
Can you stop interrupting!
I live in Houston TX and it’s significantly better here I am very shocked that people even immigrate to your country.
At 300 square feet wherever you are that’s where you is…
Everyone thing was so cool until the price... ;_;
I think that $65k isn't 'savings'; it's called income tax.
Actually, her numbers check out for me. Her numbers are after tax given what the market is like for marketing managers in Toronto.
So you can work remotely and you still choose to live in a 300 sq ft apartment in Toronto? $465,000 for that is criminal.
How does she get monthly AirBnB income though, she doesn't live there fully every single month?
She AirBNBs the unit whenever she is away on holiday/work trips!
Airbnb's are outlawed in Toronto.
She will never resell this .
Very intereting, thank you! However, either I'm missing something or her income minus her expenses are not adding up to 65k of savings... How much income tax did she pay? Since her 137k in income is gross, not net...😊
I think these income claims are quite a bit elevated...2500 part time from Rover? I doubt it...
$ 175K bought me a house in Toronto ( 4 bed. 2 bath. 1,200 sqft).
Toronto, Ohio, USA
LOL the new Toronto...TO OH, not ON
That's not comfortable living. That condo is only suitable for a university student until he/she earns her degree.
It definitely suits a specific type of person or lifestyle
My hen house has more space. Yikes, this is the future crammed in like sardines, under deep surveillance, totally dependent on the system, but a least she seems content and i guess that all that matters.
Admire her❤
If her countrymen don't buy it she'll be filing for bankruptcy.
Back in 2005 I sold my 5 years old house in Richmond Hill for this price.
20 years... Yapp
depressing.
What a lifestyle
but...she is bailing and moving to California....obvious this is manageable but not ideal for long term sanity....don't be fooled by illusions.
If that condo had a full size balcony ... maybe would be livable. The way it is, nope. Too small.
she should invest at least 50% of her income and she could retire early by 40!
They do invest it the Chinese invest all their money in residential real estate the entire world over. The buy highest and expect to sell a lot higher.
461k for a broom closet Toronto is outa order smh

Is this Toronto or New York City? I see the canvas advertising saying NYU? Not sure. And those street signs like E7 St. definitely doesn't look like GTA signs. Looks like a very nice area for a walk though.
$137,000 before tax?
