AND WE ARE BACK with another episode of Road To A Placement! I haven't been really satisfied with the music I've been making so I decided to switch it up! In this video I make a couple melodies/samples in FL Studio but for these I decided to really take my time. Finding the perfect sound, experimenting with new techniques, tweaking knobs until everything sits perfectly together. This took around 5x as long as it would take me to make a regular sample but it is some of the best stuff I've made! Definitely give this a try if you have some spare time on your hands! Also had a dope talk with @godblesseli one of the best sample makers out there!

If you need to find plugins, just look them up. Some cost money others don’t. Do not go for cracked plugins, which are basically free versions of expensive, good quality plugins. They will fuck your computer. If you’re going to get an expensive plug-in, pay for it. Other wise, there are a lot of good free plugins and drum kits. Just search them up. Search up the genre your making.

If you're finding that you're having a hard time being stuck in a rut, the best thing I can suggest to you is to take a break, or take a genre of music you know next to nothing about, and work on learning the ins and outs of that. I was a metal bassist and guitarist for ten solid years before I got stuck in a slump and decided to learn about instrumental hip hop. That lead me down the path of learning DAW's, sampling, songwriting, and every other skill I've picked up in the past seven years.
You seem to be genuinely passionate, which is great to see.
yeah thats a great tip. Those genres are so far apart, theres so much to learn!
It doesn’t have to be something big like changing genres I find just learning something new can really refresh everything.
