What is autism?

Welcome to Great Ormond Street Hospital’s video series about autism.  
These videos were made with help from autistic young people. In these videos, our clinicians refer to autistic children and young people. This is because studies have shown that more autistic people prefer identity first language, rather than person first language - for example ‘people with autism’. But each person is different and they may have a different preferred term, so if you’re unsure, it’s best to ask them!
