    As a Turk I advise that you shouldn’t buy any non display prices items in Antalya. I personally don’t buy.

    Cool! thanks again for the good market glimpse and tips. Big difference and looks much more comfortable, Almost pleasant when compared to similar markets in Africa, China and Latin America. I'm curious if you are still content living in Antalya, and with the sunny climate and all the fresh, whole foods, if you notice an improvement in health and sense of well-being? I saw many aging Northern Europeans and Americans who were ailing, and went to places like Australia, S.E. Asia, or the Mediterranean to die, but in a couple of years found themselves getting well and enjoying life.

      Thanks! I've been living in SE Asia and Turkey for almost 6 years now and my opinion is it's not the climate on itself (especially in SE Asia, the heat becomes too much eventually), but more the sense of freedom, the novelty and being able to afford a better quality of life. Those factors certainly have huge impact on sense of well-being.

    Thanks for your market prices videos!
    Just for comparison, a few prices from our local farmer's market in Honolulu:
    Local oranges: $1.99 / pound
    Dragon fruit: $3.99 / pound
    Avocada: $2.59 / pound

    I believe Antalya belediyesi publishes daily price ranges for produce. If you’re suspicious of the price you can look it up.

    Those are not farmers... they are vendors.
    A farmer usually has 1/2/3 items , and they usually have small stalls

    The stuff on the plate that was labeled "what is this" is called Carilie. In Trinidad it can be used as a cooling or you can cook it as a talkari to eat with sada roti.

    Hey Olga! I'm not in Antalya anymore ( I met you last week next to Mark Antalya Mall).
    But I wanted to go to the market, and couldn't find it because the address was wrong (I used the address from an article) I think it will be helpful for for future tourists if you add on your video a google map location.
    Thank you for videos, the helped me a lot on my vacation :)

    • @OlgaProGoingPlaces
      @OlgaProGoingPlaces  Год назад

      Hi Inna, it was nice meeting you 😊 What article do you mean?
      I am not giving the address for this market, because markets like this are once a week in every neighborhood and unless a person is living here it’s more convenient for them to go to their market in their neighborhood 😊

    Interesting. I spotted the word "frukt" written in Cyrillic at 4:50. Not sure what the name of that fruit is in any language! I know there is a large Russian community in Antalya. Are signs in Russian/Cyrillic common there?

    • @OlgaProGoingPlaces
      @OlgaProGoingPlaces  Год назад +1

      that’s dragon fruit, I used to buy it in Thailand frequently. but here it’s more expensive.
      Yes, in Antalya there are many Russian speaking tourists (Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan), so sellers try to attract those customers:)

    You giving wrong info about barganing. İn bazaar u cant barganing anything belive me its very rude thing. Even we Turkish People not doing that. Its public baazar most seller have their prices on foods. U can barganing in touristic areas only.

    • @OlgaProGoingPlaces
      @OlgaProGoingPlaces  2 года назад

      We actually heard from a Turkish person that lives in Antalya, that if there is no price - that we can bargain. So we trust that person. And you are saying the opposite. But we usually don't bargain anyway and only buy from sellers that have prices.

      @@OlgaProGoingPlaces We have been going to the region of Side every year since 2008 and in the meantime have made many Turkish friends and know the tricks that sellers use in the tourist shops, the original price is doubled times 3 to 4 to eventually arrive at times 2 of the original price, the customer wins as well as the seller.
      They also ask you where you come from because Germans and Russians get higher prices and we Belgians and other neighboring countries can always get a slightly lower price because the Turks know that we earn less than the Germans. You have to bid down because otherwise you are a loser, the Turks hope that the people will not dare to bid and thus pay a greater price. And a tip by me is first go to a real local supermarket such as Carrefour etc... because t-shirts, bath items, shoes, slippers are much cheaper than in the shops and it is also not a counterfeit so you do not have to pay high fines when you return at customs because you have counterfeit goods with you. Olga en Renee, ik heb je kanaal 3 maanden geleden gevonden en dat doen jullie super goed, bedankt, ik weet door jullie al veel meer dan voordien? Kan je voor de winter periode eens een video maken over de huur van auto's quads, buggys, over de verzekeringen, rijbewijzen en wat indien je daarmee een ongeval hebt en er gewonden zijn, of boetes krijgt?
