For whatever reason I really enjoy when bikes are built in this shop more than the others. Maybe cause It’s relatable to me and the bike shop I go to. Sick ass bike 👌

locking patches are different from threadlock. A locking patch has soft material applied to the treads to reduce the possibility of them winding loose from vibrations. however the thread that dont have it on them are still open to seizing in the female threads. the grease prevents this. threadlock such as loctite is different as it bonds the threads together, instead of dampening the effects of vibration.
@@adamchambers7502 Personally I have always thought that pre-added blue material is same as Locktite blue (242). When grease is added on top of blue Locktite it will not work as intended. This is what Loctite says: "www.loctiteproducts.com/en/products/specialty-products/specialty/loctite_threadlockerblue242.html Loctite Threadlocker Blue 242 is designed for the locking and sealing of threaded fasteners which require normal disassembly with standard hand tools."
@@kallehonkanen HI Kalle, no that is still referring to standard loctite applicator. the patches are typically factory applied to the screws before being sent out to the assembly lines where they will be used in any industry. A compressible nylon or epoxy patch. usually nylon. some have more adhesive properties and some have mostly antivibrational properties. When you screw the bolt in for the first time you can feel the patch deforming in the female threads. Loctite 242 cures in the small spaces between male and female threads to provide a positive lock. Patches dont operate in quite the same way
Hello, always wonderful videos. The bike choices are great. When will you be able to edit on demand on an Ibis Mojo HD5? Thanks again for the great videos, especially now. See you soon. Fred
Why would you mix a SRAM high-end shifting (XX1) with Shimano higher mid-class breakes (XT)? Seems strange to me. I would go for either SRAM only, SRAM shifting with Magura breakes or Shimano only.. Edit: Nevertheless, nice bike.
Bi0Hazardfr It’s not nylon on the screw, it’s actually epoxy encapsulated in little beads. The grease completely nullifies the adhesive effect. Not the best practice ever.
@@MaplePanda04 it doesnt stop the dampening effect the locking patch gives. those patches prevent loosening from vibrations. Yes there is an adhesive effect but greasing the thread prevents bonding on the uncovered portions as the above commenter says
selamat pagi from indonesia, does anyone have any idea how much all the parts cost? are they sold in one package?thankyou, really appreciate any answer

It's a really nice shop. Gives off good vibes, that's the only way to describe it.
Awesome build, totally in love with the sram gold and green frame. Hope you and your family are doing well during this lockdown
All good thanks, hope you are also!
@@GeeMilner all good over here!
cmon that cassette and derailleur deserves a better shifter
was going to say the same, who uses grip shift today?
To each their own I guess
I use grip shift and love it. One less leaver on the bars.
Grip/trigger isn't about what's "better" it's personal preference

Mabuhay! From Philippines here !❤️🚴🏻🇵🇭
another amazing build, love the black and gold, the only thing letting it down is the grip shift.
totally agree:)
Imagine Sam Pilgrim doing a dreambuild with his special tools
You are a monster. I won't ever sleep again

That is horrific 😖
I'd REALLY like to see him do a build from start to finish!!!

That's so dope! Y'all building bikes I can't even afford to think about. I hope I'll be there someday doing what y'all doing rn. Good on ya mate!
So fresh to see Pirelli tyres and DT Swiss suspension.
Very trick. Very subtle colours and a gorgeous build.
These are the best video series in the youtube. I love you man
Your videos - my meditations
Any build with grip shifts can't be a dream build. I love the frame geometry and colour, though
Gotta mix it up a bit..
@@GeeMilner Gonna be a problem when tackling a hill .
akmal harry not really
+1000 my excitement dropped slightly when I saw the grip shift.
What an open mind, congrats!
I love everything abt this bike besides the grip shift, thats just me tho awesome work!
Beautiful bike, not the biggest fan of the grip shift . But I’m positive this is someone else’s dream bike
I usually hate gold components but on this green frame... Wow
Pedals looked sick too
Stoked to be part of this one !

Yeah let's grease the bolts with preapplied Loctite. Because grease and Loctite go so well together.

Beautiful building. Amazing bike
Awesome build
Dude is a menace for them grip shifters
Muita perfeição nos detalhes, excelente!
Imagine this guy doing a giveaway 😂would be the best day of my life to win one
Admiro todo sus trabajo me encanta
The grip shift killed it for me🤣
In my opinion grip shifters is a technology that must vanish in the fires of Mount Doom.
Did he put the olive in the braking cable after cutting it?
my question too, it seemed like he just cut the cable and inserted it right away, which looked odd
The compression olive is already inside the brake lever.
Why grease screws that have thread lock on them?
I really don't understand. Is this a trade secret?
Otherwise great video as usual!
I was wondering about same exact thing. Seems very counter-intuitive to me. But yes, lovey video & bike!

Nice build, is this radon slide trail 9.0 2021 model?
Very nice
What grease (red) was he using?
Muc-Off
Is this a modern gripshifter?
7:06 grease over loctite?
It's not loctite, it's nylon on the screw from factory.
(Nylstop) the nylstop work to retain the screw, and the grease avoid any bonding :) no issue !
