I use to be the ol’ traditional method on healing a tattoo. I think I even said that on one of Justin’s first saniderm videos. But decided to give it a try since he spoke highly of it. And tbh I never looked back after trying it. I’ve experimented with it trying to figure the best way to heal it and for me it was leaving the first sheet on for 2-3 days and used MadRabbit soothing gel to moisturize. No scabs and tattoo flakes off quickly. Informative video since I get my throat tattoo’d in a couple weeks lol
LOVE TO HEAR YOU GAVE IT A TRY AND FOUND OUT HOW GREAT IT IS!! to many people talk before trying this and then are amazed at what theyve been missing out on. i stand by second skin for when its able to be used and glad to hear youre someone else thats seen its great benifits
My artist pretty much refused to use it because it was a forarm with an elbow and he wasnt having it. Im going to have him do it when I go back tomorrow
I have the most sensitive skin ever! I got second skin for the first time 3 days ago, And I have no irritation in the slightest. So thankful 😍💕But my recent tattoo was small, and so was the touch up.
These types of products are revolutionary and make healing so much easier. I never assume the artist will have and of this. Always bring your own and have extra at home. I've healed a bunch of tattoos with this and other brands (I prefer recovery derm shield personally.) The way that has worked best for me is have the artist put it on before you leave and then if you have a lot of fluid build up after 24 hours, just puncture that one spot, drain it, and put another little piece over the hole. Then I just leave that on for 5 days. This method is much better for single people that don't have someone else to replace the entire thing after 24 hours and it still heals it beautifully. One of the best feelings in the world is taking it off on day 5 regardless of how you go about doing it, I always look forward to freeing my skin on that day. Also, the last one I healed was in my armpit, it really does help a lot to cut it into little strips in these areas. These are all great points in the video.
Thanks for the video. I just got my first tattoo. My artist wrapped it in, I assume Saniderm, and told me to take it off on day 4 unless it comes off on its own. If that happened, like you say, he told me to just start the standard aftercare per the instructions he gave me. What I did was to trace the perimeter of the wrap with my finger when I was just sitting maybe watching TV and it stayed on well until day 4. No leaking. No problems. I had problems with adhesive staying on the tattoo when I took it off but I cleaned it up pretty well and after a day or two of aftercare the tattoo was clear of the adhesive.
Unfortunately i have an allergy to adhesives. I get hives almost every time an adhesive is used on my skin, even bandaids will leave me w/hives. So i just heal my tattoos the old way, which takes longer & is honestly more annoying but manageable. Im just excited that i have an appointment in 3 days to finish my forearm tattoo & get 3 more finger/knuckle tattoos.
The first time I used saniderm was on the inner bicep and after that I shied away from it because it irritated my skin around the edges. However, I recently got a tattoo on the top of my foot and I went ahead and used the saniderm since it was in a spot that's difficult to keep sanitary. I had no issues whatsoever with it and it was the best heal I've had. I suspect that I may have just placed it on too tight before and it was pulling the skin a bit. I'll try it some more this fall when I finish up a large upper arm tattoo.
Question, I just got my first tattoo yesterday. I understand after a tattoo is completely healed, you should exfoliate about twice a month. Which exfoliating soap/scrub would you recommend?
I'm so allergic to adhesive, even by the following morning the edges are rashy and blistering, and can take up to 3 weeks for the rash to clear after mainlining Benadryl all day every day. Gotta stick with cling wrap, oh well!
I recently got my hand tattoo done it’s been itching likely crazy and it was my first ever hand tattoo and it was my first time sitting in a tattoo chair for 9 hours long and it won’t be the last I’m planning on doing my first ever half sleeve realism tattoo on July 6 and 7
First rule. Don’t get a hand tattoo before your arms, sorry I had to say it. Obviously it’s not true at all, get a tattoo where ever you want to. No one can tell you where to get a tattoo and where not to.
@@justinkdit started to heal and starting to get peeling off right now it’s itchy badly but I keep on cleaning it and putting on Moisturise regularly hoping the second week will slow clam down my second tattoo appointment is July 6-7 I’m getting a half sleeve tropical theme 😀
I unfortunately had all my arms done before trying saniderm out on them so I can’t say for certain the arms are the same as the leg but I don’t see why it wouldn’t be great just like the leg. The only area I see it being hard is the elbow area
Saniderm worked perfect for me tye first time then when i went back to finish it i got the allergic reaction everyone gets few little red bumps around the edges where the adhesive is but i can confirm definitely breaks out mostly where ur body bends
@@justinkd healed perfectly. Took off first sheet to wash it then kept 2nd sheet on for 6 days. After that the peeling was very minimal compared to the traditional healing in my opinion. overall would use it again even after the reaction. Might try recovery derm on my next tattoo.
@@peewee6187 how long did the little red bumps last? Just got my first tattoo yesterday and they put on the saniderm. I am sure I might get them since I am a little itchy on my elbow. Also what moisturizer do you use?
@@ChaosInFlux a few days, once your tattoo is peeling and your moisturizing they start to go away. I got my tattoo on the 8th of May and the bumps are pretty much fully gone now
Since my artist introduced me to saniderm I've always had a roll at home. So now what we do is he'll wrap it with cling wrap then I'll wash it later on at home. Then I'll wrap it with cling wrap again to sleep, wash it again in the morning, then put saniderm on it. Works well for me.
So you mentioned about the artist using Sandiderm but didn’t give a 2nd saniderm. What about regular plastic wrap then can you apply saniderm after removing the plastic wrap and cleaning the fresh tattoo?
Well the problem with this situation is usually they’ll put the Sanidemr/second skin on your tattoo when you’re done the session and then sent home with it already on. So you already have it on and no need for Saran Wrap… but say they didn’t and it was your situation, and they only gave you one piece (and we’re reluctant to give you another) I’d have the plastic wrap on going home and then applying the second skin after washing
It’s still somethings that’s new to the industry. But I’d say they’re the top names of second skin now and second skin will only gain in popularity as time goes on. Plastic wrap/Saran wraps always a staple for just protecting the tattoo for the travel home and hours after but that’s ot
I think that’s good timing ⏱️ 😂 my honest opinion is try it out but that area is one that can have some complications because of so much movement and bending. If you start to see irritation & or it gets uncomfortable then take it off and go about the traditional method
Guys it’s easy. He is getting paid to sponsor this. Get the pads and wrap and keep it overnight… wash it and let it air dry for 2 days then apply Non sented location …. This sanadarim Is trash
Lol your right I do get paid by being an affiliate but I don’t ever try to over push this on anyone. You don’t want to buy it then don’t, but I do think this is something worth trying because trust me… you try this (and everything goes smoothly) you’ll never want to go back. My main goal is to share information on this product and method of wet healing
All these numbing creams and second skin shit is really lame in my opinion if you can't take the pain you don't really want the tattoo. I'd like to see the number of people that get bad reactions and infections sealing up and open wound

Saniderm is only good on my legs. It doesn’t work well on my arms. That peeling method seems top tier as well

If you want to work twice as hard and wait twice as long for your tattoo to heal, sure, do that.
Sandiderm imo is trash on the ribs imo. Its also pretty bad on the inner biceps near the armpit. This just my experience.
I could see that spot of the inner bicep near the armpit creating problems because there’s a lot of heat that’s coming out from that area
