Classic Sonic took the situation more straight to the point which allowed him to get through the door in time, while Sonic now was like, “another one of eggman’s tricks again” which is backed up by that pose he did before Classic ran off, then he was thinking about “that’s not my reflection?” causing him to be late to get through the door.
I’ve always liked modern sonic’s version of this better, mainly because when classic sonic runs, it looks like modern sonic reacts quicker instead of reacting when classic gets in the portal

I notice one difference. In the one from Moder sonic's viewpoint, he turns his head around an extra time. This is not showed in classic's reflection.
