I love all the author things you got to do this month! It sounds so fulfilling!! I love that you met the kids on Halloween 😭 I LOVED Wallis's book and also read it leading up to Halloween, it was SO perfect! Okay adding Starling House to my TBR since I'm writing an Appalachian story with coal mining history LOL
Always fun to hear from you, Lindsay! I am learning a lot on how to be an author from you, especially how you perceive the writing and editing process - you make it look manageable, practical and down to earth, which helps a lot. In October, I’ve started a writing challenge where I attempt to write and vlog every day for about a month. I did have a couple of bad days and I accidentally deleted about 2.5k words which I’m not gonna lie threw me in a pit of despair for a bit, but I’m working on getting out of it. I’m in the bog of the messy middle right now and I often think of what you always say about loving your work in progress for what it can be, not what it is right now. Thank you for sharing your attitude, it’s deeply appreciated ❤
Lindsay! As always a very cozy video! Your Ren Faire outfit was too DIE for!!! You looked beyond beautiful and fantastical. And I am so BEYOND happy that you enjoyed A Dark and Secret Magic. Hearing you say it amplified your Halloween spirit during the final week of the month made me so excited!!
I read starling house on your recommendation and it was amazing. I love a creepy sentient house and that book DELIVERED. Loved the ending and the truth that was revealed. Thanks for the rec!
oh my goodness, was that the Ohio Renaissance Festival kinda between Dayton and Cincinatti? I went last year and it was incredible! My favorite part was also the Falconry
Hey Lindsay! I re-read The Glass Witch for the second time last month.I love reading your book in October it fit my Spooky vibes I also read fantasy, cozy fantasy ,and murder books last month. This month I have been reading Wicked by Gregory Maguire and I and can’t wait for to see the movie in theaters in a few weeks! If you haven’t read Wicked and love the Wizard of Oz! Definitely read Wicked! 📚❤️
Lindsay! I loved this cozy vlog! It was an honor to beta read BITTER BONES and finish it during October! I can’t wait to read the final version! 😍 I love that you got to do a few events with kids! How cool! I loved STARLING HOUSE when I read it (I think last year) and I just finished ADASM a few days after Halloween, so that will go in my November reads. We must be similar as I am both a book and stuffed animal collector (especially wolves as they are my favorite animal). In October, I got a mini wolf Squishable (the gray one), Emily the black bat Squishmallow (collaboration with See’s Candies-yes, I fell for marketing😂), strawberry cow Palm Pal, and black cat/witch Flip-A-Mallow Squishmallow. Also, bought A DARK AND DROWNING TIDE and GODKILLER (Adult fantasies) at B&N, so I guess I indulged in my autistic special interests a bit! 😂 How do you like your Jellycats? They look so soft! Do you plan on getting more? I don’t have any of those (yet). I know they are expensive! I love the Chauncey pumpkin and those cookies looked delicious! 😍 I haven’t written anything since August (oops!), but I’ve been querying, submitting short stories, applying to TV writing fellowships, applying to remote jobs, and teaching my Writing Disabled Characters in Fiction class, which I love.
You've been so busy! Omg I love the plushie update! Those all sound so cute. I like Jellys but I don't want to go overboard the way I didn't with squishmallows LOL so I'm going to keep my collection small. As always, thank you so much!
This monthly wraps are always so cozy and joyful, thanks for keeping us company🧡 I didn’t get to write a lot this month ‘cause I was busy with school and also I got sick for two weeks💀 but at least I’ve had more time to read! My favorite book from this month was Mexican Gothic (I finished it like two weeks ago and I’m still thinking about it, send help). I usually don’t read horror and I’ve never read gothic horror before, but now I want more, I’m gone be reading a lot of gothic horror next year! (If anyone has recs for something similar to Mexican Gothic, please let me know
Thank you Lindsay for the October upload❤ just wanna tell you I’ve been binging some of your old videos and thanks to that im now a proud adopted mom of a fugler! He’s my little monster baby and I love him and can totally relate to the need of making him a seperate instagram page😂
As far as books go, I really want to recommend Don't Let The Forest In by CG Drews. It was SOOO good. 5/5 it's queer YA eldritch body horror which... all those words together? *chefs kiss* It absolutely destroyed me in the best way possible.
Are you an Ohioan??? This week alone, I’ve found 2 Authortubers from Ohio! I’m so happy you had a blast in Columbus. It’s my favorite city since moving to Ohio!
I've literally been thinking about investing in a coloring book & those markers BECAUSE of your incredible coloring Lindsay 😄October was a crazy month for me because I finally signed with a literary agent for my queer, upper MG graphic novel that I literally worked on during your summer live sprints last year!!! Also, I LOVE you and Brian's Halloween costumes and think they turned out so cute 🥰Glad you had such an amazing spooky month!
How long is Bitter Bones atm? The colouring continues to look fab (the glowing ghost). Strangely enough, purely through YT videos, Wallis Kinney and you feel like you have very similar energy. Books: Finally read Impossible Creatures - the writing *chef's kiss* Wrote down so many quotes. Oh, and the hobbit costume 🌻
