Thank you for including all the challenges/issues/problems you encountered while working on this project. It helps us so much know how to handle things when they arise and also makes us feel not so alone!
Happy New Year! want to say "Thank You" for all the great tutorials using the Silhouette software. For a long time, I was afraid of this software and now I feel so much better knowing how to use it. Ever since I started watching you it's been such a pleasure and I appreciate you so much. Blessings🙏🏽☺
Happy New Year! 😊 Thank you for the kind words. When I started this, I thought I would be able to earn a bit of spending money doing something that I liked to do. I had no idea that a wonderful, supportive community would come out of it, and that means more to me than anything now. I appreciate you, as well. 🥰
I've had the adapter set since it released, right after I got my cameo 5. I just tried it along with the video, as I'd never used it before. I'm in love with a new function!
Once the sketch is set, you release it so that it can't be altered any more. Before you hit release, you can resize your design and the pattern will adjust accordingly. Once you release it, the lines become part of the design. Am I even making sense??
Thanks for watching! It's going to be an exciting year around here... We need to cover V5, Silhouette Web, the MK-II. I don't think I'll struggle for video ideas for a while. LOL
I loved that you left in the trouble shooting. I usually have heaps of issues with sketching and my pen holder was cracked so I threw it away. I really want to use the sketching functions more, so I'll order some new pen holders. But adapter C is out of stock. I guess there's a new adapter that's coming eventually... Also, your hair looks amazing 😍
I have cracked so many adapters! 😡 I'm on my 3rd or 4th set now. I'm super careful when tightening the collar now. But I do love sketching, so I keep replacing them. LOL. They are out of stock on Amazon, too. And thank you!!! I've been trying to grow it out for a year, now. I am to the point where I'm not so sure of my decision. 🤣
I just found your channel from silhouette main page after example video and your channel was next played. ????? Will you be making video about new Silhouette 5 software upgrade?????
Thank you for this info. I learn so much with your videos, and you do such a professional job! I gave up on the Silhouette pen adapters. They crack way too easily. I bought the Chomas Creations adapters - the one for pens and the one for markers. There's no fear of breakage. An adjustment must been made on a per-project-basis however, since the pen can't be centered in the adapter unless it perfectly fits within. So it's not a perfect solution, but I prefer it to the crappy, fragile Silhouette adapters. I really wish Silhouette would design something more durable. I would totally buy it, even if it was way more expensive. BTW - your hair is beautiful!
I'm with you in wishing they were sturdier. It's extremely frustrating, especially since they don't carry a lot of the tools in local craft stores. If you're in the middle of a project when it breaks, you are just out of luck until one can be shipped to you. I haven't tried the Chomos, but they do look unbreakable. And thank you for the compliment - I was just to the point of changing my mind and throwing some hair color on it 🙈🤣 It's been a long year of trying to grow it out and I'm only about halfway there.
Thank you brilliant lesson. I used to use the sketch lots with my cameo 3 as it had the ability to sketch and cut. Stopped using it so much with the 4 as no ability to do the same. I really need to get back into this with my 5 as its such a super tool with so many uses especially if your handwriting is awful, it makes you look like a handwriting expert 😆😂
Love this series! Lots of good tips. They never worked well for me. On white I use print and cut and on darker colors I use HTV, which works fabulously on card stock (sometimes PS vinyl but the transfer tape can ruin the cardstock), markers or calligraphy pens. I spent a while learning calligraphy and although I’m not great it is usually better than the sketch pens! I always go nuts for anything new and when they came out I bought big packs. Probably all dried out by now. Wonder if I can use them as regular pens,
I do like the way HTV looks on dark cardstock! It is probably a bit quicker, too. The new pen adapters are supposed to work with calligraphy pens, but I haven't learned that trick yet. Something to add to my list.
I call the sketch pens my sketchy pens, lol, because I have never, in 3 years, gotten them to do a whole project without messing up. There’s always a place where the pen doesn’t sketch.
I had about 15 minutes 🤣 I ran a few dies through and tested out the embossing folder. It is amazing... I just have to finish playing catch up before I can get to an actual project with it. That's making me sad. LOL

You're welcome! I think it's so important for everyone to see that we're not perfect, either! I ride the struggle bus all the time. 🤣

TY, I have a question: why do you have to press Release Effects in the sketch panel? What does that do?

@@silhouettesuccess Thank you!
Thank you so much for this video; so much information to learn to use my new cameo 5.

I have been trying forever to get adapter set C, but it is always out of stock. So frustrating.

New question...has anyone used the medium or large adapters? if so, what brand/style of pen? All of mine are using the small adapater
I do need to use the large for the Pilot G2 pens because they have the rubber grip on them. I think you will need the large for sharpies, as well.

Welcome to the channel! I did make one video, but there will be more to come!
Thanks for reply . Yes after binge watching I saw the beta video. I will be watching for more.

@@silhouettesuccess I absolutely love the silver streaks! So cool!

Yes! My handwriting is so bad that I make my husband fill out all of the Christmas gift tags and sign all of the cards throughout the year. 🤣

🤣🤣 I will be stealing this, if you don't mind! That's great.
replay-thanks
Also, I wanna know if you've had a chance to play with your Platinum 6 :)

I feel so behind, I only gave the Cameo 4.
The Bluetooth just isn't reliable unfortunately
I think it got slightly better with the 5 series, but not much. I don't trust it with big jobs, for sure.
Not worth it,😢
