I'm impressed for many reasons. First, that was one of the most well-used chainsaws I have ever seen and with the most improvised repairs I have ever seen. Then the masterful repair process was simply amazing. I truly expected the replacement of most of the external components, including the muffler. I was very impressed and will save this to review when working on my own Stihls. Very well done.
That has got to be the most unique and amazing rebuilding/repair/refurbishing effort I've ever seen on anything. I hope it stays with you for many years to come. Things are only thrown away when you just don't want to put in the efforts to make them work again... Bravo sir, Bravo!
I remember when I visited my grandmother in Pensacola, Florida and she dropped some serious wisdom on me. She said “Grandson, one day some people will waste their time reading your comment.” Today is that day.
I don’t know what I’m more impressed with the rebuild or the fact he knew how to put 1000 pieces back together. I’d love to have this as a show piece. For sale?!?!
Well actually for most products like this, especially contractor grade tools, plans and blueprints are available, often included with the tool, or even more likely - online.

Nice brazing skills. Its almost a lost art and reminds me of my long departed foreman George Morris who used an old Stihl and could braze really well. That was an excellant restoration.

Any piece of equipment with that many repairs tells you at least two things. Someone loved it and it is one heck of well built machinery. Today's crap for the most part can't handle one tumble from the tailgate of a pickup truck.
@@dn0682 Hi, I come from Germany and can tell you that the parts for the 075 are scarce, especially something like the chain brake is difficult to get. Occasionally you can get something in one or two online shops, but these are mostly just individual parts, when I was there 2 or 3 years ago, when I rebuilt the chain brake on mine, I even got parts from the USA and France. As far as I know, Stihl has a 20-year spare parts guarantee, at least that's the case here, but unfortunately the 075 is now no longer available. Greetings go out ^^
