    Apple launches their new Distraction Removal tool for Safari and it lets you remove ads from articles and websites. Google relies on those ads for profitability and so do those websites so how is this going to affect their business model?

    I remember hearing that this feature blocks the ads (removed sections) even if you visit that website again in the future. So once its released September onwards, it should function that way. Although, you will have to do that for every website you visit for the first time. Its unclear if it will work with similar pages within the same website/domain (it might not). Let's see.

      You're right that it's a large amount, however this suit has a snowball's chance in hell of remaining. Google will get it overturned on appeal. The DOJ is way out of their league on this one. Particularly since users can change the default search engine very easily.
      Also people always mention how much Apple makes on the deal, now imagine how much Google makes on the traffic that Apple sends them. Google is not being charitable with Apple.

      For some reason, this cohost always tries to downplay Google's importance to Apple's success. I don't get it. He downplays everything Google does, like $20 billion isn't a significant amount. It's actually a massive sum, and you can't just whip up that kind of cash without a well-thought-out plan. So, whether he wants to accept it or not, Google and Apple are mutually beneficial.

    • @Spoonfed78
      @Spoonfed78 Месяц назад +5

      @@yaboipookiepookyes you can see the "love" for the brand in many videos.
      It's weird Apple people love one greedy super manipulative company so much over another and are so vocal against Google.
      They don't realise how entrenched these other big corporations are fundamental to Apple through history or in more recent times.
      Apple use google cloud services for iCloud (location dependant)
      Also their AI cloud services and hardware to train their in-house AI models.
      Microsoft is why Apple still exists (bailing them out).
      They are all greedy soulless corporate pricks but why the love for one that seems to impose the most control in ways is just creepy.
      They are appliances and services, not ya family or child 🤣

      @Spoonfed78 Dude, you're spot on about this cohost's blatant Apple bias. It's like they're living in an alternate reality where Apple is a saint and Google is the devil. The whole thing is super shady, especially considering Apple's reliance on Google services. I'm a Google Pixel fan myself, but I'm not gonna pretend they're perfect. Every company has its flaws. But this guy is taking things way too far, praising Apple to the skies while trashing Google at every opportunity. It's really making me question his expertise in AI and technology. I mean, come on, there's no way he's being objective about this. It's like he has an agenda to promote Apple at the expense of everyone else's demise. 🙄😂

    The hosts saying ads implementations on pages are a “distraction” is a gross understatement. They’re a frustrating intrusion on some pages, making some website content virtually unreadable because of pop-up ads, multiple mid-page ads, floating ads that scroll up/down to remain in the current window. Even retail sites have them, making their use unpleasant.
