Join me, Pixel Dan, on an epic toy hunting journey at Power Con 2023! From its humble beginnings in a hotel room to becoming a massive convention with all the top toy companies, Power Con has always held a special place in my heart.
At the convention, I kick things off by exploring the incredible world of G.I. Joe. I score some awesome Shadow Ninja and Ninja Force figures that have been on my radar for a while. These classic figures bring back some fantastic childhood memories!
But the real gem of the day was discovering the Monsters of the Pokeverse booth. There, I stumbled upon the elusive Jewel Lord Solitaire from the Rock Lords line - a toy I've been hunting down for ages! Rock Lords have always been a personal favorite, and adding Solitaire to my collection was a dream come true.
My adventure continues as I make my way to the Barbarian Rage booth, where I get a first look at Berzerker, the latest addition to their amazing figure lineup. And I can't forget to mention the jaw-dropping Musculoids line - pure nostalgia!
Eternia Dreams booth was like stepping into Masters of the Universe paradise! It was a delight to be surrounded by all things MOTU. The love for these classic characters is alive and well, and it was a pleasure to soak it all in.
Back at my own table, I had the incredible opportunity to meet viewers and subscribers. Your support means the world to me, and I was overwhelmed by your enthusiasm and kindness. Some even grabbed a copy of my book on Masters of the Universe - thank you! One fan even surprised me with a custom action figure of myself - mind-blowing!
Throughout the day, I also stumbled upon some other treasures like pogs and more custom Masters of the Universe action figures. Power Con 2023 was a whirlwind of nostalgia, excitement, and connecting with amazing fans like you.

Power-Con is an annual fan convention that celebrates the Masters of the Universe franchise and related toy lines. It's a gathering for fans of He-Man, She-Ra, and other related properties, including G.I. Joe, Transformers, ThunderCats, and more.
The convention often features panels and discussions with creators, voice actors, and artists associated with these franchises. Attendees can also buy, sell, and trade toys and collectibles, making it a significant event for collectors. That jewel lords figure is amazing! Earth to Kentucky (the booth where you got it), is one of the best toy stores I've ever been to. Customs and artist made toys and an amazing collection of vintage toys and ephemera - you should go there and do a video, Dan! You won't be dissappointed!!! FYI. Those Screeches seem to be coming out of the wood work. I know two dealers who are breaking down a case of those and selling them. One is on E-Bay, $28 plus shipping.
Toy Dept is the third case I'm aware of that has come to market in the past year. I suspect someone is out there sitting on more.
It's probably good you passed on them. These were about $50 a couple of years ago, but now that so many are hitting the market and dealers are competing, so the price is crashing.
Great way to get a mint loose screech if you need one... just not 48!!!
Agree, a sensible reseller would trickle them to market to keep the price high, if all at once then its going off a cliff return wise.
Man, seeing those Bushido's, I really hope we get more Ninja Force in Classified. We've got Stormshadow (even though he was hard to get ahold of) and Nunchuck coming up.

What a flashback! That TMNT figure with the water play feature is one my brother had as a kid and I loved playing with it! Not sure where it ended up, but that was such a fun (and not very functional) toy! My personal favorite was detective Donny though, with swappable disguises!

That's a Remco Warrior Beasts figure. Slightly better quality than Galaxy Warriors. Easily mistaken.
I ruined my copy of the Mortal Kombat Trilogy insert from EGM with the Milkcap Maker when I was young because I *REALLY* wanted some Mortal Kombat pogs. I still kinda do.

When you found the pog maker and you said how they were popular for about a summer in the 90s… Well they were popular way later and some of the hardest ones to find now are the ones AAFES gave out during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. What happened was there was a shortage of American coins and shipping large amounts of coins was heavy and expensive they started printing pogs in place of coins. As the war drew closer to closing they told us we had till the end of the year to cash them in before they lost value. Interesting enough only nickels, dimes, and quarters were made. No pennies because no taxes downrange so nothing was ever priced outside of a multiple of 5.
I'm 46 years old in a couple weeks. I witnessed the entire 80s and 90s and all their fads. I don't remember pogs at all. They must have been for the kids that were slightly younger than me because none of my friends had them or cared about them. I never even heard of them until that Simpsons episode where Milhouse was like "Remember Alf? He's back. In pog form."
I'm seven years younger than you and remember them becoming a thing around fourth or fifth grade. So you would've been nearly out of high school and yeah, I don't think 17 and 18 year olds would've cared about little circular pieces of cardboard with cartoons printed on them. Hell, I barely cared about them as an elementary school kid. They just seemed so primitive in a time when Super Nintendo was already a thing.

Yeah pogs were definitely mid 90's ish, so for us early 80's kids we were "Too cool for toys" by then

I have been waiting to see your PowerCon video. I was there on Saturday and walked through each vendor atleast twice and still felt like I missed some of the things you showed here. I had a great time and my wife had a great time hunting for her mlps and car bears. I went past your table a few times and you were very busy so I didn’t stop but wanted to say I got back into toy collecting in March and when deciding what vintage toy line to start with (so I would not get overwhelmed and buy everything, trust me I want everything) I found you MOTU book and it is amazing and I go through all the pages before toy shows to make sure when I see stuff it has the right accessories and such. Anyways thank you for your book and the videos. Hopefully there will be a PowerCon 2024 so I can add some great motu goodness to my collection and not have to wait till 2025 to get my PowerCon fix.
Pogs were the only fad I ever fell into.. 1995ish... I had 10 tubes full and like 20 slammers
I lost my Screech along with Webstor in 1985 after traveling with my Grandmother to her hometown. I did get back Webstor through MOTU Origins, but not Screech which is not available in my country.

Good lord. I remember when the stores couldn't even give away those disco skeletors. No joke the one toy store near me back in that day had those repaint 200x waves all the way down to $3 each or two for $5.

I remember Solitaire was one of the only Jewel lords that show up in the gobots vs the rocklords animated movie , I believe her and nugget are the first ones you see

It was great to meet you at the show after all these years of watching your channel! It was great talking RUclips with you, and your Kidrobot Proto/Break Man is in good hands! lol Sadly I got to the show pretty late on the final day and couldn't experience a lot of it, but it was fun to meet you and a few other friends, as well as find a few obscure toys I had been looking for, namely a Spy Monkey Creations Weaponeers of Monkaa Optimus Prime homage! Best part about these shows is finding stuff you'd never find anywhere else.

Hi Dan , Im looking for some figures i really cant remember there name i dont even know if they exist Lol , but i remember they look like the MASK figures small and if you put them in hot water they change apparence to transparent ,they had vehicles that fired torpedos or i think ,and thats it.. cant remember if they were bootleg ,original or a dream

Man... Ever since PowerCon left CA, I haven't been able to go due to my poor vision and not being able to really travel alone, but before that... I only missed the first show and have been to evey single one since! If you haven't been to one before and can go, you really need to! The people there are awesome, the venders are amazing, the panels are always entertaining and holy cow... The toys are mind blowing! Every fan of anything should go! Anyway, Dan... Great hall man! Everything you picked up (except for those hideous 90s Joe's) was amazing! If I ever come across my toy bird from the beginning of the episode, I'll for sure give it to you. I remember having that and that orange two headed dragon thing and playing with them all the time with my He-Man figures. They were AWESOME!!!! Thanks for sharing your experience at the con and thanks for sharing your hall as well. Have a great day and if PowerCon ever comes back to CA, I'll be sure to say hi again 😎👍

I recognize the toys at 8:01. They're a vintage line from the 80s called Imperial, they're very durable. I was given a few dinosaurs and a tiger as hand me downs when I was little.
