Thanks Toyo,very helpful for me in particular as I am waiting for an approval in principle.
Wish we had that e-sim idea before we got here. Our bolt ride from the airport to our accommodation was the longest 30mins of our stay here because we didn’t have internet at all. And we booked the ride with the airport WiFi. Plus the driver was mean, we couldn’t even tell if we were going in the right direction.
We thank God we arrived our destination at last 😅

Yes you have to pay now and show receipt. However, my booking is refundable.
If you're coming from Nigeria, you have to submit your VISA to VFS and the processing time takes 6 weeks to 8 weeks. In fact on my form, I was made to write " I am aware that Malta visa processing takes a minimum of 6 weeks" and signed it as well.
I just got frustrated because the application processing time is too long, from application in February till now, and till September 😢😢😢... Na die

How many days of short accommodation did you pay for,and also how much is the Visa fees you paid to VFS here in Nigeria and in what currency?

For insurance I used GasanMano : 514 euros. My insurance covers both in Malta and rest of Europe.
Accommodation: I booked hotel for 3 weeks(minimum ) and paid. However it is refundable for a period of time.
For Visa you will pay 250 euros when booking appointment, then 264k when submitting at VFS for processing. The 264k may change or not due to Forex.

@crisalpepe it has to be from Malta. They don't do it anymore.
@crisalpepe I guess you can. We booked for 10 days, even though we found our long term accomodation in less time, in about 5 days after we arrived and we signed the contact and everything. But we still stayed the whole duration because we already paid.

It depends on what you can do. You can get a job in the hospital if you meet the requirements. You sound like you do already.
