Describe the size of the cut planarian piece that is required to sustain regeneration and regrowth.
michael levin as shown that regeneration does not require complete reversal of differentiation, he stimulated regeneration in a frog leg, and unlike during first growth of leg where we see "ontogeny recapitulating phylogeny" as the leg first appears paddle like and tissues are shed between the digits, on the regeneration of the leg, the foot grows more like a plant etc, and grows the digits like branches.
It's incredible that if the plantain worm is cut into 8 pieces, 8 new worms will grow. They are the champions of regeneration.
Yahhh

but will it blend? that is the question
Its so tiny. Although it can be cut to more than 200 part and survive.
What if they are squashed between glass and a flat machined surface. Will that paste regenerate?

Yea
Imagine having a cutting board and dicing the planarian! Would that turn into an ENTIRE COLONY of planarians???
The limit is about 200 pieces. You can cut a single planarian into 200 pieces and each piece will regenerate into a complete worm.
who else is reading this during bio class?
me lolll
thanks buddy alejandro

Hello Saint Paul’s Clearwater’s independent school!
How to get rule the world by adding more planarian
Wait so then how would you kill it ?
There is a limit to how many times you can divide it before the pieces stop growing into full worms. Estimated to be 1/279th of the entire worm.
