hi guys, i’m thai but not in thailand now. i’ve been subscribing you since your very first videos in thailand. all i can tell is you’re doing amazing jobs, really make me feel happy and heal my homesick. always supporting you 👍🏻👍🏻
I like the way you both present the content.. it feels like I am in Thailand.. plus the food that is being shown in the video, always makes me hungry! :) thank you for making an amazing video.
Thank you so very much! We’re glad to hear our videos make you feel like you’re in Thailand 🥰 That’s our goal! For people to feel like, they’re with us 😁. Appreciate the love! 🫰❤️🙏
Guys!!! I'm Thai and I tell 'ya, we all foodies and temple people (probably 'coz we're more spiritual be in large-- at least I am like the elderlies in my extended family) on average. I don't mean that in a negative way. It's just what we pay a lot of attention to when we go touring or just looking to discover new things. This is especially when we get older (maybe me too 🙄). I'm glad you guys are foodies so you'll never be bored here in Thailand, or in Asia really.
A little tips about thai names written in english is that when it starts with 'Ph' most of the time you pronounce it just P. Talat Phlu would pronounce Talat Plu/Ploo, Phuket would be Puket/Pooket
My favorite ice cream this shop is ไอศครีมไข่แข็ง (Ice Cream Kai Keng) coconut Ice cream with egg yolk. It's a perfect combination. Have you tried it yet?
Hi guys, another great video. The beef noodle bowl 🤤🤤 If you are looking for new themes/ideas…it would be cool to see a comparison btwn terminal 21 + ruam sab food courts. U could choose a few standard dishes that are at both + rate each for taste, price + portion size. Love your videos, thks for sharing!! 🙏
I love khanom. We used to go to Talad Bang Kapi for fruit and veg and seafood so fresh it was flapping on the market stall. We would always buy khanom as a little sweet treat. I'm so looking forward to trying them again. I am very hungry now.
@@ChovyTravel Can you tell I'm getting excited? I haven't been in Thailand since 2018 when I broke my leg in a bike crash. I have missed it and I am very much looking forward to being back.

Next time please try (the rice soup) or normal rice eating with many 4-6 dishes of food. There are nearly a hundred of menu available such as stir fried mince pork with chinese black olive(หมูสับผัดหนำเลี๊ยบ), stir fried clams with chilli paste(หอยลายผัดน้ำพริกเผา), stir fire pork with yellow garlic chives and egg tofu(ผัดกุยช่ายขาวเต้าหู้หมูสับ), deep fried sea bass with fish sauce( ปลากระพงทอดน้ำปลา) and a lot of delicious menus. Dont miss it as not many foreigners try it yet. Most of the shop open after noon. All the best❤
That looked like a fun day of exploring. Would love to have tried that red pork dish. Also I'm a big fan of strong coffee, so I would definitely want to hit up that coffee spot.
The views around Talad Phlu looks like Bangkok 50 years ago. Back then, there were those short commercial strip-line shop houses everywhere. In fact, they were the main stay of Bangkok, with large buildings (no glass buildings even) like you see in the Sukhumvit Area very sporadically erected around the business district. Back then those shop houses were clean, with little mold-mildew though, unlike today. What a great time travel trip you guys went through. It's "Back to the Future" for you guys!!!

Red pork is what Thais call Char Siu, the same kind you see on ramen, though the Japanese make it quite a bit differently. Or you might also know it as Chinese barbecue pork, but the Thai and Chinese versions are pretty different too. Kao Moo Daeng (red pork with rice) is one of the most popular dishes in Thailand, up there with Kao Kaa Moo and Pad Krapao. Some places that sell Ba Mee (egg noodles) also serve red pork with noodles.
@@ChovyTravel Ya, the sign is in thai, but it's at 16:40 timestamp, see the red sign with red soup? You can order a bowl - yentafoe soup. I usually order it with ground/minced pork (moo-sarp in Thai), and fish meat balls (loog cheen bplah). Don't forget to add the garlic and garlic oil to the soup, if they have it on the side available to add as a flavor enhancement.
That Mee Krob (Crispy Vermicelli) you ate isn't a Thai Fusion dish; it's an original recipe that's been around for 130 years, dating back to the time of King Rama V. The king once stopped by the canal near the restaurant for lunch, and this Mee Krob was prepared for him. Great video, by the way. 😍❤
The name of the market is locally pronounced "Ta-lad-ploo". It's the filming location of the Thai/Asia's box office movie "How to make a million before grandma dies".
About Crispy Vermicelli, guys you are not the one that think about its prices, small portions and tastes. I also thought the same😂 don't worry. Also, you might miss the right Thai desserts shop, the one that you saw a long line that tastes better and is very famous. Hey Chovy Family, I'm chilling on the coach with Frodo my 🐕 , salivating lol ... 😂, food looks so delish. Thai poeple are so Warm and Friendly. Thank you for the awesome trip to Talat Phlu. Enjoyed the vlog... ❤ 🇿🇦
We have yet to find a place that has excellent Khanom Krok 😅. I know they sell them in many places. We recently tried it at ICONSIAM and it was okay. Will have to keep looking 😃 Our pleasure! Thank you for joining us! 🥰🫰❤️🙏
@@ChovyTravel The recipe for khanom krok is very simple and easy to make at home. My sister makes them just for fun, and tastes like any other khanom krok I've ever had.... all coconut creamy yummy. And if she can do it, you should be able to, too. Try making it yourself, and you can adjust the ingredient portions to your own taste.
I've got an idea for you guys, a way to spend the day differently. Why don't you guys take a local train to Ayuddhaya. It's a slow, open air train for locals. You can enjoy the views of ancient ruins in Ayuddhaya and enjoy food on the river side and local foods that originate there-- like the Thai Cotton Candy called "Khanom Mai Fa" and "Khanom Sai Mai". Ayuddhaya also has a well known history of the Thai People fighting for their land there against the neighboring Kingdom of Burma (today Myanmar). There is even a story of the most well trained of all Muay Thai boxer, "Nai Khanom Tom" from there who fought many many Burmese boxers while Thais were in captive in Burma after being brought there after a major lost battle in Ayuddhaya. Really, if you guys love history, you'll love Ayuddhaya.
The red bbq pork and crispy pork belly with chinese sausage served over rice ข้าวหมูแดงหมูกรอบ is common thai dish. Costs 50 baht ($1.50 USD) eaten locally in Thailand. In a USA Thai restaurant, it would cost 495 baht, a 10x in price difference! Yes, that's right, entrees in most USA restaurants these days are $15 to $20 each, and that doesn't even include your drink, which knock you back another $5 (heck, a Starbucks drink is $8 and there is screen to tip the barrista on top of that, its getting nuts), and don't forget having to tip a server if there is table service, another potentially $2 to $10 down the drain, remember tipping etiquette in USA says 15 to 20 percent of the bill, and the stupid iPad that the server brings you with the bill defaults to 20% tip, how convenient of them. Eating out in USA is expensive these days, which is why I've had to cut down on the eating out here in USA. If i was living in Thailand, I could eat out and purchase drinks as much as I want, EVERYDAY, for every meal, without having to break the bank.
