i thought this was a good update for the bugrock players but after watching this video the only thing i can think of to fix this is to just simply increase the size or extend the hitbox of the buttons.

These controls are horrible! I used to be so good at pvp with the old controls because of how smooth the controls were but now they are ruined and i can't pvp, move properly, or parkour. Mojang needs to fix this and bring the old controls back.

I was so upset because of this. Not only is it harder for me to play, but i cant even change it back either. This completely ruins how im used to playing the game. Ive been playing with the old controls since 2014 and now that they changed it, i cant even play Minecraft anymore. I tried to practice using it but its way harder than using the old ones.

you forgot to mention that you unfly by touble tapping fly down instead of double tapping jump while in creative, which ends up placing blocks.. and the new swimming controls... THE FRICKIN SWIMMING CONTROLS ARE *SO BAD*

I fucking drowned in a river because I was eating a snack and didn't realize I couldn't just hold down the up button anymore. Oh and I have to continuously hold the up button when trying to even just move in the water now. Everythings just broken. Its so uncomfortable. I used to think switching to a laptop would be too hard for me because I'd have to relearn everything, but now it seems like it would be so much easier than continuing to live like this. At least the controls would fucking work and stay consistent 😭

ikr! I literally almost cried yesterday because I needed to place an entire deserts worth of sand for a SCHOOL PROJECT and fucking couldn't because the controls are so bad now. The controls used to be so easy for me. Ive made mine as close to what it was like before as possible but since the button size for the arrows wont go up past 100, I just cant. Its infuriating.

@@user-ci8qy8cj5p well for us old players we grew up on dpad controls so we much prefer dpad ones. And since the new controls don't fit the mobile experience, the new controls just feels like its for computer even though its *MADE* for mobile

I started tweaking as soon as I saw the new controls
Originally I didn’t care, I thought they just changed the textures, I played for a bit and noticed I keep stopping and having to press the d-pad again. The old texture, layout and shape had a special place for the nostalgia that it always brought back. But what can we do, just gotta hope for the best

I used to play Murder Mystery and any other pvp game on mobile, I literally can’t play with these buttons. They have too much space. They need to change it back 😭💀
SAMME BRO!!!!, it's so nice to see someone who truly understands the difficulties that come wih being a mobile player. I mean my pvp skills have just been ruined by the new spacings, randomly looking at the floor/sky. But I don't know if I'm more annoyed about the fact that I forever cannot get them back into the original positionings CaUSE ThE HoTBaRs iN tHe WAy or some bull.

After nearly a decade of playing Minecraft PE, I can no longer play the game and it is unbelievably frustrating.
i can’t get the old design back and its fucked me up so bad 😭 my brain has to relearn what to press when before it was intuitive AND even with customization i can’t bear to even play the game for more than a couple minutes right now :(
i hate how every game is becoming more “modern” with its graphics and controls, it just sucks to see my favorite games change such important design aspects

Swimming doesn't even work anymore when you get to the surface swim button disappears so you drown back

When I went to change the size of the buttons I got a black box where I couldn’t even see the scale, I even turned off cookies and still couldn’t see where I needed to click to change the button size.
Ive seen many bad updates from various games, but this one is the first one that actually makes me want to go to the Mojang headquarters and force them to change it back. I cant play using these controls. And just yesterday, i was so excited to play minecraft with my friend after around 6 months. Now i cant even play. I hate mojang.
You can resize the controls in the settings but its still not the same 😢, i have a texture pack fro the og controls

They added joystick controller's last year, but kept D-pad original, a year later D-pad changed!
They had the audacity to change a 10+ yrs old control that is rooted into the players' muscle memory
I started hating minecraft. I was one of the best dpad co trols player in nethergames . AND Now a level 33 player comboed me badly in nethergames. ☹ I will never play this shit to make my respect down.

I mean it when I say the new controls make Minecraft borderline unplayable for me. The jump button is too small (and you can only make it smaller for some reason) and the D pad is way go close to the centre of the screen. It used to be next to the hotbar and now it doesn't even let you put it there.
This new update serves no purpose and only makes the game worse, and I doubt anyone at Mojang gives a shit. Still it baffle me why they'd do it in the first place

i had been working on a mountain ecit with the old contro;s but when the new one came i cant even built my landscape anymore by i keep dropping when i press down and now im quitting bc if mojangs shit controls i cant even use the darn thing on anything im playing roblox right now until minecraft fixes this suit
I used a glitch one time where i would press the forward button and move my finger upwards a little off the button and it still counted as moving.. but the new dpad changed it. FVCK THIS UPDATE

I came back to minecraft and the controls are messed up/ I build in creative sometimes and flying is more difficult. I cant even play a world with a water elevator because the jump button is so spaced out and the 2 seperate controls makes it worse.

If they’re trying to force people to switch controller types, why would they do that, how does it matter or how would that benefit them?

this is the shittiest update ever,this is why i liked old controls,when i was playing mcpe 1.14,my friend invited me to play mc but he was on 1.20 so i adjusted and downloaded,when i saw the new controls with the joystick,i was like "ooooo new controls nice" but i liked d pad so i switched to it,when i joined,I SAW IT,THE SHITTIEST THING EVER

Worst update I can’t build I can’t fly properly because I have been so used to the old layout This has actually stopped me from playing
I feel the exact same. Something I realized is that there's a setting to 'customize' your controls for experimental worlds, but if you fly in creative at all in the game, even if you saved the controls, they'll be reset to be super tiny. Because of this 'customizing' of the controls, they outright removed the option to swap which side certain controls were on(I believe it was the switch titled 'Left Handed'?)

I've always had ideas for Bedrock controls. I think theh should be fully customizable enabling you to customize each button induvidually. I also think they should add the option of having mine and place buttons instead of holding and tapping
