    3 Years into ownership, every time I get an opportunity to put my Model Y’s accelerator on the floor, the goosebumps come right back. My mother in-law thinks the car is too fast and she doesn’t trust me to drive her in it. In other words, the car came with a bonus!

    I've had my Model Y Performance for nearly 3 years now, and it still puts a smile on my face every time I drive it. I've done numerous long distance road trips to places like Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, Pikes Peak, Death Valley, around Lake Michigan, Great Smoky Mountains, and Tail of the Dragon was very fun even though it doesn't corner that great compared to sports cars.
    My supercharger sessions usually average 15-25 minutes, though I've seen as long as an hour (really hot triple digit day in Utah), and as short as 7 minutes, which was the time it took me to go to the bathroom and back.
    For my daily commuting, I love being able to precondition the cabin in my garage without the carbon monoxide worries. And watching Netflix in my car during my lunch break has let me catch up on many shows I might've otherwise overlooked.
    I love how over the air updates helps fix bugs, and adds new software features, such as Track Mode, or using the two side cameras when the backup camera is on.
    Sure, some other EV's can do some things better than Tesla, such as interior styling and fit & finish. But taken as a whole, Tesla offers you a lot of bang for your buck, which is why a lot of owners like them.

    What I like most about this channel is that it’s not a fanboy Elon worshipping circle jerk. I recently got a Austin-built MY because I didn’t need the extra 50 miles of range, I think that the structural frame is better, and I use the rear shelf cover almost every day. BTW I was surprised that the build quality of my MY is virtually perfect. It’s s as good as the built in Japan Honda Clarity I bought three years ago. While not perfect I’m impressed by the many cool features of the MY and love the idea of never sitting in line at Costco for gas. Keep these videos coming. Diapers are hella expensive.🤗

I like driving the Mini cause it’s a small car and handles great, the i4 is a nice car with more features than the 3 and has a softer ride, despite that I always look forward to driving the 3. I upgraded the suspension for better handling and recently got lightweight wheels with summer performance tires and it’s more fun to drive. I have a list of performance and other projects planned for it. 👍🏽

    Having had my Y LR for almost 10 months and driving it through winter, I LOVE my Tesla. We did a huge road trip out east last summer that turned my wife from non-believer to EV enthusiast. My favorite part is how cheap it is to run every month. My Dodge Grand Caravan sits in my driveway and has barely moved since we picked up our Y. We can put just about everything that we load in the van into the Y. Just waiting for the Cybertruck to complete my driveway. Keep up the great content.

    I've had mine since July '18. 60,000+ miles later (including Pacific to Atlantic and back plus other thousand-plus-mile journeys; 17 mins average charge time per stop) I'm consciously delighted every single damn time I get in the driver's seat-even just for a run to the grocery store. My other car is a Polaris Slingshot and I drive it fast on the twisty roads (Santa Barbara to Seattle and back in that one), and my other other car Is a 4Runner that went swimming with me in deep mud in Ensenada a couple weeks ago. So I know something about pleasurable driving.

And the handling... was on a coastal road one evening, family asleep... or so I thought, until my teen daughter asked me... "Dad, are you... giggling?!" Umm, yes, I admitted, as I squee'd around another fun curve... wheeee!

    I wouldn't get bored if I could save money not going to the gas pumps.
    You could ask this question for any car that people own. So kind of a mood point. There are always going to be Pros and Cons to anything. As long as you don't get hit with allot of expensive repairs during ownership, the car should be great to have.
    Right now I have a 2001 Monte Carlo (21 years old) and I never got tired of the car for all these years. It has 110,000 miles on the car. The car runs good and has some rust spots on it. Plan to get an EV vehicle next year, it may not be a Tesla.
    Charging on long trips could be a downfall to EV's and extreme weather knocking down the range miles you can go. So we kind of adjust to what has to be done when driving an EV vehicle. My EV driving would be around town and short single charge trips. Would always charge the vehicle at home.

    Love your channel BUT... In more than one video, you disregard Tesla's cold 42 PSI tire recommdation and tell people to measure PSI when hot. Bad idea. I'm a car and motorycle enthusiast and even have a bit of racing in my history. Understand that an underinflated tire reduces your range by around 0.3% for every 1% reduction in tire pressure. Since you are underinflating your tires from the recommended cold PSI of 42, down to 38, that is about a 9.5% reduction. That equates to losing about 2.85% of range. A 330-mile model Y will have a likely range reduction of just over 9 miles. Also, underinflated tires expend more heat and wear faster. Do what Tesla says folks, there is actual science based on loads calculated. Fill to 42 PSI when the tires are COLD.

      @@johnb4183 supercharging remains free for original owners of Teslas up to some point in time. Not sure of that date. If those original cars are sold back to Tesla, I've heard they have been removing the free supercharging. If the owner sells to someone other than Tesla, the free supercharging can stay with the car. For the newest Teslas like Model 3 and Model Y, it appears they register their credit card on file with Tesla for paid supercharging. Perhaps someone else in the comments might contribute more up to date details of this.

    Will I ever get bored of making up stories about my Tesla?

    I agree with these points. I thought I'd want to get Acceleration Boost by now, but I still don't need it. With road trips, it's my family that takes longer than the charging! So even when we had our Charger, all it really meant was that a break was still long, but we'd still need to fill up after getting back in the car.
    What does the Macan do that the Y doesn't? I'd love a Porsche to go with my Y, but it'd be a Cayman or 911, I don't see what another fast CUV adds.

    I don’t care about environmental BS. I love Tesla coz it’s fun to drive and such a low maintenance car. And it’s software is years ahead of others and I am it guy myself. The only gripe I have it not having car play or android auto capability.

      That the reason why I want a tesla because I already drive not a fastest or fast car but my accord 1.5 sport is fun but I prefer low maintenance car.

    Kind of like how the Rivian does everything an adventure truck should be able to do, excellently, Teslas are kind of excellent at most car uses, as mentioned... one car, can fulfill most all your needs very well and enjoyably, without much compromise. It's sort of interesting that it often does/is mutually-exclusive things, both, well.
    - Very fun to drive (high performance/acceleration) like a sports car, even trackable (some trims), but also a joy to simply relax w/ AutoPilot driving you most of the time;
    - yet also roomy comfortable and practical, not just as daily driver, but also for long family roadtrips, like family car;
    - luxury and complex high-tech features, but also very simple to use, and low operation cost (charging / maintenance)...
    - and while they may not change much over model years (style-wise), they have lots of constant improvements, and EVERY car gets new software features continually , making even 5yr old cars feel new and fresh again despite "not changing."
    So, you kind of get many things you might want, even mutually exclusive ones, in a SINGLE car, and in a practical and fun one. That is enjoyable, exciting, and cheaper than multiple cars :)
    Are they, or Elon, perfect? No, but they nearly always bring joy and fun when driving... that's priceless.

    Bought a 2023 model 3 rwd in march 2023... man i love this car…it is the most luxurious car i ever own…. Coming from the jeep wrangler community and subaru..i even had a harley davidson,,, my tesla is just blowing every cars i have driven. My only cons are the following.. because model 3 rwd is still a good chunk of money.. atleast it is for me.. im still affraid to damage the paint. And adding ppf is expensive.. adding third party rust proof can avoid the warranty … so when i drive my new tesla i kinda worry to damage the body.. i live in the north so here upwe have insane amount of snow and ice in the winter.. and the roads are very dirty and salty. Tesla paint is prone to chip. Also i have installed a roof rack and i hear some sealing cracking or streeching while installing the roof rack. Hopefully nothing will brake the sunroof. I too was hesitant to switch to EV. Also i didn't want to spend a fortune on an evolving technology. I did'n,t want to endup with a small range tesla. Thos who bought an ev back in the day.. leaf, volt.. these people were the pioneer but how many of those people still drive a leaf / volt. Hopefully theynwon't come up with a better battery tech..as i will want to sell my tesla before its price drop like a rock
