The Mountain Sacred to Four Religions - Sri Paada 🇱🇰

- I climbed the holy mountain of Sri Lanka known as Sri Paada aka Adam's Peak. This mountain is sacred to four religions today, but was probably sacred long before any of them existed. It is therefore a symbol of the wisdom of perennial philosophy. Julius Evola wrote about the significance of mountains to the ancients and he advocated mountain climbing as a spiritual act of becoming. In this video I speak briefly on the metaphysical significance of the peak and also talk about the surrounding wildlife.

I don't understand how you don't have more viewers. You have so much to tell and go on many adventures. You have a good life.
Climbing mountains is truly a spiritual experience, and a surefire way of getting closer to the Gods and your forebears' souls. Great video!
Could not agree more, and when you reach the Summit you feel the climax of the gods strength.
"The forest of Aiyanar" by Xurious if you wonder what is the name of the music at the beginning of the video
I miss my earlier years of hiking majestic mountains in my past... through most certainly I never had the opportunity to hike a mountain of this pure beauty and spirituality. Sadly I am now seemingly locked away in the concrete jungle, an ugly modern world without any grace... thanks for your great videos as always!
Another really interesting and informative video, thanks for that! And i really enjoyed the little 'casual' piece of footage at the end.
Your videos are so interesting. I have never learned so much in a religion class as I do by watching your videos. Keep up the good work!
great video about my country place... thanx
your video is good I watched your channel before I sign in

Thank you.
Very Cool, you are one of my favorites.
Mountains probably saved the ancient peoples from the floods of the ends of the ice ages
You might find the video Kestutis The Last Pagan Duke interesting
thanks
It IS the animation video. I thought STJ might find it interesting because it mentions the practice of burial with lynx (or Bear) claws to climb the ''mountain of souls'' after death. The title of his video is ''Perennialism of the Sacred Mountain.'' Sorry if you don't find that interesting.
@@Survivethejive It represents the pineal...Tryambakam...the third eye
No sound in the intro. I missed that. Would it help if you had a microphone on your person, in case of things like strong winds?
Don't know why intro sound disappeared tbh! Mic would help a little I expect
Saint Thomas's foot print, ah?
I gotta see that.
What is the music at the beginning?
The forest of Aiyanar
This mountain is what Mircea Eliade would have called an "Axis Mundi".
Is this the mountain that Sleep is referring to in the song Holy Mountain off the album of the same name?!?!
That is more likely a reference to Alejandro Jodorowsky's film of the title, which is a loose adaptation of René Daumal's novel "Mt. Analogue".
/comfy/
Hey Survive the Jive, what's your religious persuasion? I'd think you're part of that sort of Tolkien, true myth part of Christianity, but you seem rather secular.
Not really secular, since I believe in religious order. I am from a Catholic background but I often describe myself as pagan
Pagan? What parts of paganism do you believe, if you don't mind my asking?
