For those of you watching who didn’t experience it firsthand, all these videos of the fires actually brighten up a lot due to the camera lenses, but in all of the footage, the way everything looked in real life was more of a deep, dark orange, and less yellow. In some places, it was dark red.

The stuff burning in the fire is so toxic too. It isn't just trees and dry brush. It smells terrible when the smoke from burning homes wafts over you and you feel terrible about the homes, but you also feel terrible. As in terrible sick from breathing it in. It seeps into your car and the buildings you work/live in.

You are wrong about "global warming". That was the old name. They replaced it with "climate change" when they learned about the cooling starting in 2003.

I see climate warming, global warming, anthropogenic warming, global heating... all of those things refer to the same thing - the introduction of massive amounts of CO2 to the atmosphere on an industrial scale. The atmosphere is a closed system - if you put something in there it's not going anywhere, and the carbon cycle is not going to suck all that extra CO2 out of the system for 100s of years. I think you're referring to the solar minimum, which is miniscule influence compared to GHGases.

The biggest issue are the winds. The man that cleared a firebreak around his home and will not evacuate doesn’t understand that the winds can carry the fire to him in an instant. That’s how people get trapped, even people who are fleeing. They think the fire is behind them but then the wind carries it in front of them cutting off their escape route.
The federal government should be doing a whole lot more to help stop the fires and assist those who have lost everything.
How can I help ? Do I buy water and basic foods? Socks? What is needed and where can I take it?? Please reply

I was putting buckets of water out even tho I don't live too close to the forests. The next day 1/2 of it gone. We saw oppossum, a raccoon, and many other things traveling by.
Then, today birds SQUAWKING all day long in the dark overcast orange sky .
We filled up the water bins again outside..

This past year has been full of heartache and heartbreak that never ends. Some of my family members live in SF. , Portland and Seattle. Covid and protests and fires keep me close to tears. I feel so sorry for all the losses and pain people have to endure. It is so awful for everyone, firefighters and police included. Trauma after trauma. Our ecological system is taking such a hit again. Just horrific.
