To build a 8 micron TIR spindle you need a 5 micron TIR lathe head and their clients are not eager to pay for that kind of precision in a lathe, as it is unnecessary to most of their application. To understand Haas one needs to follow the money route, not the ''it would be nice to have it'' route.....
