hey man love this video can you do one on how manage inventory for a landscaping business for rxample when to start bulk buying during the winter time how many tune kits i should have to save time on maintenance how many belts i should have i know maintance normally is every 3 months but i dont know how many bottles of oil i have saved up for the next summer time my dad has a landscaping business and im trying to get it organized just having issues
I have a small growing landscaping business and have learned a good bit the last season and a half (started sept 2014) but I still try to read and watch everything I can. Your videos are very informative and I must have watched at least 25 or 30 in the last week. Keep it up man.
I got an ad literally 4 seconds into the video. Thankfully it was one that i could skip after 5 seconds. Regardless I love your videos and have learned much. Thank you.
It's good I usually ask customers to text me their address and I reply with date and time. I save it in callendar in the evening but this way is much better I'm going to try it 100%
Keith, I've been checking out your videos since last summer and started my lawn care business. This video, however, has been the one of the most helpful of all of them. I've had an electrical contracting service since 2010 and I've always felt like I've been flying by the seat of my pants with scheduling. I'm using a lot of the tips you've given for your landscaping business and applying them to my electrical business in these past few months. I signed up for Angie's List a few days ago, considering there are no other paid advertiser's in the 7 or 8 counties here on the border of WV and VA. Again a result of your advice. So thanks for the videos man, keep up the great work.
I was 11 when I started helping my dad with phone calls.. I was the only 11 year old with a cellphone back in those days lol.. but every day as soon as I got home I’d have to make call backs write down all info and what they needed, give my dad a call incase there was an emergency, then when he’d get home I’d make calls to anyone who owed payment.. it was intense.. I was writing business professional letters by the time I was 13.. customers were always impressed when they met me in person lol.. I always wondered how my dad kept 40 plus houses 5 days a week with some houses doing alternate weeks plus keeping tack of payments without using a computer.. then I was reminded he had a degree in accounting.. so he’s got the brains
This video is awesome. Thanks for sharing I do a bit more work than this and need to try it this way it’s more streamlined. When a new client calls i open my notes on my iPhone. Take down there name, address phone number and email. Then I tell them I’m going to text them that information and ask them to verify I spelled everything correctly and that we will set up a time to do the quote via text. That way I don’t feel pressured. This works well for my but your method is awesome.
Thx for the input Keith!!! My old school ass just purchased a blue tooth for my phone lol I’ve been using it a lot to watch your videos as well as the rest of the community as so I don’t disturb the wife plus I’m looking forward to using it on my jobs!!!!thx for the intel brother and keep up the inspirational kick ass videos!!!!!!😎
I got a suggestion to add some more efficency, when capturing the customers data in the contract type, create some fields for the customers (estimate, bid, current customer. ect)
Gonzalo, Your welcome. If you like the content, can I ask you a favor? please leave a comment on FB too. If there's any other questions you have. I can probably make a video about it. Www.facebook.com/TheLandscapingEmployeeTrap
I am a good business man and I love your videos. I could really use a video on some basic stuff. stuff like getting started on getting claims, things I might need, etc. Not a lot of good professional people doing this type of stuff in my area and I have a business plan/idea of how to market and how to find people. I really do enjoy your videos and I will keep watching. I will also post this on your most recent. thanks for everything -Zach
Hi Keith. Can you please make a vid on snow removal bids and estimating. I know you colab with all these other great RUclips's maybe have an interview with them breaking that down for us. Thank you in advance.
seems to me if anything happens to your phone, say drop it,battery gets old, software issues, screen freezes, someone steals your phone,it gets wet or damaged or any number of things that usually happens with your phone and everything is lost, then what do you do? Then your right back to hand written account planner anyway.Trust me,if your running everything on just a phone i think you better have a backup plan in place, because at one point it will happen.
+Robert Swift That can happen no matter what you use. But smart phones are easy to backup everything to the cloud. If anything happens, you can easily get everything right back on track.
I had two right off the bat but the business line can be ported to ring anyplace with the features included. now I have two lines both going to my cell, different rings and settings and I play that to my advantage, give out the office say you will call back on a msg then since you know they just called call back instead of answering (cause you are in demand and busy) you still come off as super responsive too cause they cant tell. and if they don't leave a msg you ring back the call a while later 'coincidentally' with a courtesy reason and bam, they think you can feel them thinking about ya. Im telling you get 2 lines even if you don't need two lines yet. saves my ass all the time.
I'm thinking about starting my own lawn care business after this coming winter season since summer is almost over. My question is: how do you go about collecting the money from the clients? After you're done mowing do you just go up to their door and collect the money? Do you leave an invoice at their front door?
Man ive been watching your vids and trying to figure out what the heck that frigin thing was you were wearing around your neck. Gotta get me some of those Thanks Man
juan silva Everything is synced with google. So, you can log on to google account and view the info. Also, when you get a new Android phone, just log on to google and everything will be there on the phone.
