All approaches can end with great performances, as long as there is trust between the director and an actor. They don't have to like each other, but they need to trust each other, then great things may happen.
I'm interested in the term mentioned towards the end (5:53) for not showing something in it's entirety. I googled Valene and Veiling but it didn't yield any results. Was anyone else able to tell what word she used?

Sorry but how does a scene from a movie - Mulholland Drive - applies as an example of bad directing and good acting? Bob is a character of the movie as is Diane (Naomi Watts). You showed the audition scene as if it was a real audition. Why? And it felt to me you decided to describe Tarantino's verbosity in a derogaotory way; which I found unnecessary. Tarantino is a master in his craft and his directing is as specific as it can be with his actors. It would be interesting seeing videos of you directing actors. This would be informative.
Im a writer of all things books 66 and 1300 verses and plays and poems, director. Call me to develop movies like good bad ugle plus so much.i am your new director of 2020
0:34 Yez. Yes it actually does not matter if ypur performances are not top quallity if the scrip is great. Its something printed on the very definition of cinema 😂😂 the script is the bones and everything else exists to bring it to life. You dont even have to be a genious to understand this. But if you. Want you can hear it from Kurosawa or even tarantino, this last one gave a recommendation for a move called "Switchblade sisters". It does not really matter if your acting is bad if the dramatic material is great. And only a person who does not understand his mefium or has not come out of his shell to comprove it could say otherwise. What a misleading person this is! And also one thing i noticed is that inept people will never come across a truly great script. And that once you have ir, giving clear actor instructions is subject to happen.
Actor is fixing to be a need for new people so get your names and be visible so we see you speak for me let world know we are going to make heaven on earth hell with those who disagree
Watching over Tom Hanks' shoulder truly was a pleasure.
You've come a long way with actors Ridley, proud of you sir.
But he was already good with them in 1979’s Alien...
@@southlondon86 I think it's because the narrator sounds like ridley scott.

Some examples of what clear notes to an actor look like would have been helpful.
I agree, all I got from this was "Casting is important, keep your notes short and clear".
@@caelinmoore8558 that is what all these RUclipsrs say...
Look up Judith Weston and read her book.
FACTS!!!! Don't just tell me what NOT to do!
