I watched this TV film when I was 9 in Spain. The music caught me from the very first time I listened to it, filling my soul of sweet melancholy. Now I am almost 39, and makes me feel the same when I was a child. A genious, Mr Morricone.

This TV series shines like a diamond compared to that Netflix trash. It sparked my interest in discovery and traveling. The music score is out of this world. Ennio Morricone was a real genius. RIP

Che classe questa composizione. Me la ricordo anche io, a 12 anni correvo a casa per guardare la serie. Fotografia spettacolare a cui oggi forse, causa effetti speciali ovunque, siamo meno sensibili di quanto dovremmo. Ennio Morricone con questa musica dalla tristezza potente quanto la sensazione di speranza che libera, ci ha lasciato un esempio di composizione non solo ispirata.. direi divina. Sto facendo vedere la serie alle mie figlie. A volte il Bello va imposto :)
Un capolavoro intramontabile. L' ho ascoltata mille volte, ma l'emozione è sempre la stessa. Ennio Morricone un fenomeno anche per i secoli che verranno.
Effettivamente una serie televisiva bellissima, un vero capolavoro, un grandissimo registra Giuliano Montaldo; la musica del MAESTRO MORRICONE che ti tocca nell'anima, anch'io l'ho visto da ragazzo, non me lo potrà mai dimentare. CHE TEMPI PER LA RAI, chissà forse nuovi talenti riusciranno a farci trascorrere una bella serata con un progetto bello e serio. L'ITALIA nonostante le cose TREMENDE che subisce, ha questi GENI, questi sprazzi CHE TI DANNO LA SPERANZA di continuare a viverci e tutto sommato di avere la stessa nazionalità di un GENIO INDISCUSSO COME ENNIO MRRICONE.

Un servidor tenía 13 o 14 años cuando se estrenó en España y recuerdo dos o tres cosas claramente de esta estupenda producción italiana, especialmente al protagonista y la breve pero memorable intervención de Burt Lancaster; pero, por encima de todo, la maravillosa melodía de Ennio Morricone!

Přeju co nejlepší pobyt v Benátkách (já tam byl v 90. a byl spíš zklamán, ale to už je opravdu dávno). Série je skvělá a Ennio mě chytil za srdce, ikdyž jsem tehdá nevěděl, kdo to vůbec je 😂

Great! I remember this music from Marco Polo TV series somewhere from 1980's, when even then communist TV broadcasted it in former Czechoslovakia. The question is, why this historical masterpiece is not on TV today? Probably it was not multicultural enough...
