I’m here cause I got a 2 on my APUSH exam. I literally couldn’t believe it, my jaw dropped and I cried. I’m a straight A student (i’ve always had an A in APUSH class), I’m ranked #2 out of all the kids in my grade, so why did I fail? I worked so hard, always did my work, came to after school review sessions, and I even studied (I reread all my APUSH notes which literally, like literally took about 7 hrs). It almost seemed unbelievable, like I legit thought it was a mistake cause the score felt so unreal… but it happens. I’m just trying to think now that scores means absolutely nothing, it’s the effort you put along the way. I worked so hard; omg, i don’t even want to talk about the constant chapter outlines we had (doing homework at 3am 😅). This class made me so stressed, but I still worked hard, and now it feels that ALL that work, ALL that stress was for nothing. I’m just trying to forget about it. I wanted to write all this to let people know that even someone like me didn’t pass the exam, so really don’t feel bad. You know what? F ap, it’s just a really hard class with a lot of work, we’ll get it next time.

I was part of the 30% that got a 1 on AP psych in 2021. for me it was bc 2020 was highly traumatic for me especially around the school year (not just because of covid) and because of the trauma i had taken on i couldnt handle the information in the course. It overwhelmed me to know too much about myself and how i work so i did the bare minimum, ultimately failing the exam.
I failed it as well last year with a 2. And that was with lots of studying, and by lots I mean “more than I usually do” which I usually never study, ps hope all is well with the trauma from 2020. I got diagnosed with type 1 diabetes that year so that was a crappy year for everyone honestly.
I really regret doing AP in the first place, but I have no choice but to do so after college-board cancelled the SAT 2’s, so thank you college board for making a lower than average student miserable.
as someone who took the ap test and is in my first choice uni, you're test score at the end of the day isn't a big matter if you passed great u don't pay thousands 🤣 and if u didn't pass admission will usually only see that u actually took the "hard" AP class and consider u a dedicated student regardless :)

Of course I take ap us history and ap psych the two courses with 30% fail rates. I’m probably the worst student because of my lack of effort, care, and work ethic. It’s hard for me to do well in courses I hate. I took these two courses because I was always interested in social studies and psychology up until this year when everything went downhill. The combination of having a fast paced teacher that spewed information at me faster than I could process it and sitting through numerous uninteresting topics that didn’t make sense to me, is why I now hate both psychology and us history. I am either going to join the fire department while also going to law school to become a lawyer or go the medical route to become a surgeon or anesthesiologist. Hopefully a college will see that I have a lot of potential and not base me off a couple of test scores that I received in high school. Especially when I’m doing 2 years of community college first just to set a foundation for what I’m really interested in. I hate not being at the top of my ap classes, although I’ve never been a straight A student.
i'm sorry to hear your bad experiences with the teachers ruined your perception of those subjects! it's so unfortunate that teachers have such big influences on our lives and how we view certain subjects because i feel like most teachers don't even realize how much they affect a student's mind. i personally cannot stand chemistry because of how awful and stressful that class was, even when i try to be interested in anything chem-related. for your sake though, i hope you are able to regain some love for social studies/psych for your own sake. good luck in the future!!
That’s exactly how I felt while doing AP world history this year man. I hated the class, and it was pretty hard for me to even try caring or do well in it. It’s worth a try! 😁 (P.S. even if you don’t take AP courses, that’s still alright)
