i've seen that cfits on landing usually has a survivor, i'm assuming its because the survivor is in the back, and the plane is slowing down for landing.
The cockpit animation for AA 191 is not quite right...the crew didn't have any warning lights appear on the instrument panel due to the fact that the left engine also controlled their electrics, so they didn't know.about the stall since they had no power to their instrument gauges/warning lights/sounds to tell them anything. They did everything they could to try to save the plane by following the proper procedures, but they didn't know the full extent of what they were dealing with. Also, in the description of the cause, the exact reason for the separation isn't mentioned, which was due to improper maintenance procedures. When they found the engine and pylon, they discovered a dent in the pylon near the point where the engine/pylon would've been attached to the wing that they determined was NOT due to a design flaw.
